The only real complaint I have is that there isn't a fridge or a microwave in the room. They are available upon request. I requested one with my reservation and they did tell me it was first come, first serve. We were able to get a fridge but not a microwave. Once they brought it up to our room the inside of the fridge needed cleaned out badly and the […] outside was all banged up and scratched. I feel like at least the fridge should be a basic amenity in the room but really for $300 a night I feel like the room should include both. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
- we had dual queen setup, however these beds were not queen, they were full size. Expedia says queen size beds but if you go to the westin website it clearly says full size. We had two children and the Beale street music was noticeable until the early morningGenuine Expedia guest review

"The Westin is very far from a 4 star hotel."
The Westin Hotel does not offer the customary services that a 4 star hotel has. There is no concierage on staff and you the guest are left seeking local interest information from the bellman or the desk clerk or the parking valet. Furthermore, I had to ask twice to have my room "cleaned." I was told the mistake was due to my room number not being on […] the list of rooms to clean. I stayed two night at this hotel. Also a 4 star hotel will have a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Westin in Memphis has a very expensive restaurant that serves bar food and focuses on serving cocktails. I was traveling with my family and I don't want to take my 19 year old daugther to a local "pick up" spot or my 15 year old son. There is a Starbucks in the hotel building but the access was only outside of hotel and not thru the hotel. Overall, the Westin is over priced for the service which is more in line with 2 stars and not 4 stars. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, great design,excellent staff"
Everything was great, had a nice view of the arena.couldnt find a better staff anywhere;especially calvin. I have a very unique name but he remembered my name and continuously asked if we were ok.i had a great time in the hotel and at the fed ex forum which is only 5 steps away.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect if you're going to a Grizzlies game!"
It was very quiet and the room was nice. I loved that there was a separate tub and shower!! I also loved the workout room and how you can "rent" workout attire if you need it!! Wonderful service for a wonderful stay!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location close to Beale Street"
Hotel was great but a little overpriced. Everything is extra, if they could charge for air I'm sure they would. It has always amazed me that the higher the quality of a hotel the fewer amenities (free Wi-Fi, free newspaper, etc) are provided. They do provide one free bottle of water...... but it is a beautiful well kept hotel with wonderful employees […] and great location for visiting Memphis. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay with family"
Very nice location right across from the basketball arena. Clean, spacious room and staff was very friendly. Will stay again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is an example of location, location, location! The rooms are small, the rooms are very expensive, but if you want to party on Beale Street, you can't beat it! The restaurant is average (no Sushi!) but you can eat outside and see the FedEx Forum which is less than a block away!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
If you are planning on spending time on Beale Street then this is the perfect location! Staff were very helpful and friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
We loved being close to entertainment and within blocks of many dining options. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the room was great!Genuine Expedia guest review

Got there early for check in. I did understand that I was early. But when 4 oclock comes around and your room not ready, Had to get management just to get checked in. The room wasn't right. But just to get check in I was ok with room. After that every thing else went smooth for the stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Amazing view and Beautiful Room"
Well our intentions were to go to tunica MS but there was a nice storm that caused a power outage. Next best thing? Let's drive to Memphis and stay on Beale Street. They gave is a room with an amazing view overlooking Beale. The bathrooms were very clean and beautiful!! We had a big king bed and it was one of the most comfortable beds ive ever slept […] in in a hotel. One downfall that you might want to be careful with is if your room has refreshments and drinks/liquor in the fridge DO NOT TOUCH THEM UNLESS YOU INTEND GO PURCHASE! Lol. And they are quite pricy! $9 for a small can of snickers. I could have bought 3 bags! Lol accidentally bumped a wine bottle in the fridge and it tried charging us so the sensors are very sensitive!! Lol. Other than that we couldn't have asked for a better room/stay! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great stay for the price!!"
I was totally satisfied w/ my stay. I stayed overnight for a Grizzlies game and it was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff was so nice, welcoming, and accommodating. I would definitely give this hotel another 5 stars if I could.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Horrible Valet Service"
We pulled up with a roof rack for which we had called to confirm before we booked. 3 valets stood around and were not wanting to assist us both with parking the vehicle or the luggage cart. We actually had to push the luggage cart from the car to our room as the 3 valets stood there and had a conversation. Ridiculous.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Really nice hotel right on Beale Street"
This is a real nice hotel right on Beale street. We walked to a show at the Orpheum theater. After the show we came back to the hotel for a nite cap in the lounge. 10:00 at night and the kitchen was closed so there were no snacks of any kind. We got a Margarita and a Hurricane and the bill was $25.00. So Stay here but dont eat or drink here.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Just include it"
Accomodations were fine. I just find it incredibly insulting that in an age where Chik-fil-a, Starbucks, and even most cheap hotels offer free wi-fi, Westin nickel-and-dimes its customers with a daily wi-fi fee of about $13. Really? One of the benefits of staying at a 4-star hotel is paying extra for wi-fi? The insult will not go unnoticed in the f […] uture. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel across from NBA Arena"
Tried to check in at 5:30 (check in was 3:00) and told by the receptionist that our room was not ready and to have a seat in the lobby. When I asked why the room was not ready they said they had a large group check out late and house keeping was backed up. When I told the manager that this type of treatment is very unusual a room magically became available. […] When I asked for a late check out I was told "no" bc they were booked through Jan 2. Then it occurred to me that this hotel has a contract with the NBA (hotel across the street from the Fed Ex Forum) and they don't care unless you are a NBA player or a member of their entourage. I would not stay at this hotel during the NBA season. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful hotel, great location!"
My boyfriend and I just stopped in Memphis for the night on our way to Oklahoma City. My dog was with us and I love that there was no extra charge for him to stay in the room. "Great Hotel. Convenient to Beale St. & Gibson"
Front desk person was outstanding. Very friendly and efficient - helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel room key didn't work a forth of the time and the same key that was need to work the elevator didn't work half the time. Which meant that we had to go to the front every time we wanted to go to our room to get our key to work again. The fridge was stocked with soda, water, etc. that you had to pay for so i could not take it out of to put my own […] drinks without getting charged. They also didn't have vending machines to buy water or soda so that you would have to buy there extremely over priced drinks. Someone charged their $60 dinner to our room and they tried to charge us for it before we left. Thankfully they fixed it. The restaurant was SLOOOOOWWWWW and it was not busy. It took forever to be seated. The food was ready and sitting under the heat lamp for 25 minutes before they brought it out to us, so after waiting for 35-40 minutes for our food it was cold. While waiting for our two bagels and eggs (that cost $50 by the way) other people who sat down after us were served before us. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Walking Distance to Beale"

"Nice hotel Everything Way over priced"
2 people check in, they give you 1 bottle of spring water and charge you 3 bucks for the 2nd one. You have to pay 7 bucks a day for wifi. just plain gouging. "Great hotel for the heart of the action"
Other reviewers are right, even high rooms on Beale St side will have some noise, but it didn't bother us too much considering the great views of the action. The hotel was smack dab in the heart of it all, a great location. We enjoyed walking to all the downtown activities. The maid service didn't get to our room, but we had gone out in the morning […] and come back and needed the room when they were ready...still a little disappointing that they didn't make it back after we left at 2pm. "worst experience ever"
This hotel has terrible customer service. I booked this hotel as a romantic getaway for my boyfriend and I as well as a recent concert for his birthday. The hotel was right across the street from the FedEx Forum. I booked on line 6 weeks prior to the actual date of stay and had multiple emails saying I was good to go. I know there were rooms available […] when i booked because i booked the exact day the concert went on sale. Come to find out when I checked into the hotel that wasn't the case at all. They apparently overbooked that night and put us in another hotel 6 blocks away. I asked why wasn't I called and told about this and I was told they didn't know. I asked how could your system allow you to overbook and they again said they didn't know. Because I was not informed of this I paid for parking at that hotel had to leave and pay for the next hotels parking. The hotel we were put in was not up to standards. I wanted a king size bed suite we were put in a standard two double bed room. You cannot treat customers this way and I won't be returning. If they had bothered to call me instead of emailing me saying everything was ready I could have found a better hotel than the one where we were placed. I was very upset they gave my room away Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"That will be extra sir!"
The hotel was very good. The bedroom was enormous with two queen beds. The bathroom was large with a bath and separate shower room with rain head and two flexible hose shower heads. The location was just off Beale Street and next door to the Gibson Guitar Museum, the Rock and Soul Museum and the FedEx Forum. Being so close to Beale and as my room faced […] that direction, the live music was audible in the room but it didn't finish too late. Given that this is a 4* hotel I was disappointed to find that it was run like a budget airline. I got the room but everything else was extra. The car park was chargeable, fair enough it was a downtown location, the breakfast was extra, the internet was extra - come on, it is 2013. The tv default channel was a pay channel and the free mainstream channels were not on the fist page of options and you need to scroll to the next page to find them. There was a notice by the minibar/nibbles tray saying that if something is removed and not replaced in 30 seconds it is charged for, not good if you don't speak English and have to examine them. There was also a notice next to the coffee machine to say that when the two coffee sachets had been used, further ones could be PURCHASED. Two sachets in a room with two queen beds! There was also no sugar or stirrers. It is not becoming of a 'good' hotel to indulge in these practices. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great room, great location....poorly stocked"
I would return to this (expensive) hotel, mostly for the location directly across from the FedEx Forum. However, the staff need to be more attentive to providing adequate towels and ensuring the in-room amenities, like coffee packs, are stocked. For such a high-scale hotel, these things should not be an annoyance. Also, its worth doing the self-park […] vs. valet....can save you $20 per night! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We spent the night after seeing the Eagles across the street at the FedEX Forum. The elevator sounded like it needed work, and to charge for wifi to me is silly for such an expensive hotel, but overall very niceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel right on Beale Street"
Overall, we had a lovely stay at the hotel. The only drawbacks were the little amenities - for the price of the hotel, one would expect complimentary bottles of water, or enough shampoo for two people. Perhaps even a tiny bottle of conditioner. But, no, we had to strain to read the fine print and learn that the bottles of water (which weren't even chilled) […] were $3.00 each. And the items in the fridge are on sensors, so you can't put it in the fridge for later. (Sure you can go get a bucket of ice down the hall, but what if I don't want to 'drink the water'?) And, for those not familiar with higher-end hotel practices, if you lift an item from the snack area or fridge, you have 30 seconds to put it back or the sensors will automatically charge your room. I saw this at the Venetian in Las Vegas, so I knew not to touch, but this could come as a shock to someone wanting to read the label of the $15.00 cashews. The beds were very comfortable and the room in general felt clean and fresh. There is ample parking at the adjacent garage, but it's not free (although, $10/night, is nominal compared to some of the others we encountered on this vacation.) Overall, the comfort and convenience of location would make me book this hotel again... I'll just make sure to pick up a couple bottles of water at the nearby shops while I'm out enjoying the city. "Westin Hotel Downtown Memphis, Tenn"
When we arrived, we had to wait in the street in our car for about 10 minutes, because the entry was blocked by a new arrival, but the car was not moved forward, blocking three empty parking spots. When we did get to enter the hotel driveway, we asked about self parking and were directed around the corner with no help unloading our bags. Our room had […] a broken makeup mirror, the complimentary robe was missing and wireless service was an extra fee. We were ignored in the bar for about five minutes while the bartender was conversing with another guest. Upon leaving, we had to carry out our own bags because there was no bell staff to be seen. Very disappointing stay for the room rate charged. We got better service at a discount motel up the street for 1/4 the room rate. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
