Modern malls give way to ancient souks selling silks, spices, gold, perfumes, and a lively fish market. My room needed a makeover. The carpet was old, from the 70's old. The bed rested on the floor, too low to the ground. They need to invest in better bed linen for better comfort. The television was old. They need to change the wall paper. The walls were also dirty. The wireless internet cost;however, I couldn't utilize it from my room. I was only there for 5hrs. Staff was wonderful and accomodating. It was alright for the price.

The hotel was OK, and the people working there were quite good. What was somewhat irritating was that I felt nickel-and-dimed during the stay. Had to pay extra for everything (internet, breakfast, etc.) and the charges were higher than expected. I was also disappointed that the maids did not clean the glasses - my fingerprints remained on the water glass the entire 10 days of my stay.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights at the end of Nov 2008. Took a room at the top floor away from the elevator and didn't face any noise at all. Was a nice room and very neat. No problems with air conditioning or hot water. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Used the hotel travel desk to organize the hotel taxi (20 AED) to Diera City center both days to get on the big bus tour. The hotel has shuttle services to the beach areas and shopping centers but do note the timings for this. The shopping area shuttle is usually during the evening. And the destination for the shuttles may not be the same each day. Got a schedule for the shuttle from the reception. Also used the desk to reserve a dhow cruise with dinner. The hotel has a Thai restaurant and a breakfast area. We didn't eat breakfast though since there was a surcharge for it. Didn't use the pool at the hotel. Check in and check out were fast. Used the complimentary shuttle from and to the airport. Make sure you pre-organize pickup from the airport via email with the hotel service desk. Although the location of the hotel was in a semi-residential area, I found this useful since I could step out of the hotel and avail of the little grocery stores for essentials like water, snacks, etc. The only gripe I had was that the Internet connection at my room did not work and my laptop couldn't connect to the WiFi there. I did manage to get Internet access for a small fee at the hotel business center (10AED/30 minutes). But then again I had most of my maps/info already printed out prior to arriving. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay here. It was a great room for a very reasonable price.

Only one overnight so will not be overly critical. Hotel facility is very clean but not a dazzler. Location is not on main thoroughfares but close to decent dining, convenience-type shops and the airport (see below). This is not a high-rent area though felt quite safe. Surpisingly, I was 'courted' by Ladies of the Evening twice around 10p on my walk home from a very good dinner (Chinese buffet, 3rd flr in an office building, approx. twenty minute walk). Staff was accommodating and proficient if not exactly warm. Thai restaurant on main level has very limited menu but food is very good and my server was welcoming and attentive (no alcohol here). Accommodation, Room 6024, was clean-looking but had the oddest odor: a mix I perceived as equal parts hookah smoke and camel. Somewhat off-putting and unlike any other of the neutral smells in the hotel, I readily adjusted and slept well in this high-ceilinged, spacious and affordable room (Hotels.com). Other quick notes: DSL was good and you'll need to get a card from the desk and (if from USA/CA) need to request an adapter if not carrying. Courtesy shuttle to the airport, 15 mins away, departs every 2hrs but must be booked at least three hours in advance of your departure. At this point the staff in charge of guest transfers truly shined: very dedicated to providing the service in a timely way - I was taken by private car to the airport (and gave a good gratuity comensurate to the care with which I was treated). Sans weird-smelling room, I'd stay again.

The hotel is located close to Airport and Taxis are available right outside the hotel on the street or to the adjacent street. I read another review complaining about not city taxis available which was not the case. Of course, if you ask the front desk to provide their taxi service, you will end up paying 2-3 times more. The room was nice and spacious. Airport pickup service is shady. I had to keep looking for the pickup person who explained later that he went for a quick break and gave the hotel sign to another person who disappeared. There are many Airport customer service employees with big signs of Help so don't afraid to ask them to find the Hotel's Rep for pickup. That's what I did and he found him. Or take a Taxi which would cost 10-15 DH at current rate of US$3-5. Another helpful hint is to sit down on Taxi first rather asking first wherever you want to go. If you just ask, they may give an excuse but cannot refuse you once you are sitting in the Taxi. The local Laws are very strict and they are afraid. You will also find private cars people offering Taxi service which may cost you lot more but safety is not a concern again for the reason of strict laws.

They provide free transfer to and from airport and this would have saved me time and money if I had known. Good prices on room service food and fairly good location. Very nice furnishings in room and good atmosphere. Address is not totally accurate as it states a streetname which is close but not right. It would have helped if Hotels .com had printed the phone number ron the reservation so cab driver could have called.

I stayed at the Grand Moov for 4 days in December. There had a been a mistake with my booking but they upgraded me to a suit at no additional cost. The room was very comfortable with everything you can expect from a good 4 star hotel. Laundry service was good, and the hotel staff very helpful and remembered my name. A real personal touch. I cannot comment on any other hotel facilities as I never had a chance to use them. I probable wouldn't stay here if I was on a leisure break as there are far nicer hotels in Dubai for that.
