The lack of caring for the customer was reflected in absolutely no one located at the front desk---EVER!! So our TV and telephone were not working. In calling the sister hotel we were promised someone to come to our room to assist us in 20 minutes. Horrible. First, when I arrived, a sign said that I need to go to another hotel to check in. The other hotel is several blocks away. The supervisor told me to just walk there, but his directions were incomplete. Luckily, his subordinate offered to drive us to the other hotel for check in. Then he had to drive us back. Why wasn't this made clear at booking […] time? In the hotel room, the shower did not provide water. The bathroom sink provided water that was too hot and no cold water! Also, the booking service should make clear that there is daily tax to pay. Finally, when you go to breakfast, you have to tell the supervisor if you want coffee or milk. Otherwise, you get no drink. My wife and I stayed one night at this small hotel that is just a five-minute walk from the Campo dei Miracoli. We were met by a very pleasant and helpful woman in the small reception area who watched our luggage while we enjoyed the buffet lunch at the hotel restaurant and who arranged for a taxi at 5:30 am for us to get to the airport. Arrived and room was ready. Only TV had no cables and after unpacking we had to repack to change rooms. This had to be done quickly because hotel is only open from 2:00pm-9:00pm. Wi-fi worked fine but you have to get a new password everyday. Which means you have to see someone at the desk between 2:00 and 9:00. Your day has to revolve around getting […] back to the desk. There is no bar and no restaurant at this location. Breakfast is very basic. You get 1 cup of coffee with your breakfast. If you want another one it costs money. They do not have any money at this location and will not take any money. Front desk was helpful with us locating a laundry. Our tub leaked all over the floor each time we used it. Relais dei Fiori is a modest sister hotel to the only 5-star hotel in Pisa: rooms are small but quite comfortable; the decor is slightly eccentric; and the location is very noisy in the way that only Italian hotels seems to be, but the windows had good sound proofing. It only has reception from 2:00-9:00 p.m., so when we arrived in Pisa in the morning […] we left our baggage with the sister hotel (5 minute walk). The problem was that when we went to our hotel at 2;50 that afternoon, the room was just being cleaned. When it was finished the beds had no coverlets (just sheets), there were insufficient towels, and the fridge lacked the water we had been promised. We asked for a taxi to be called for an early flight the next morning, which didn't show; when we walked around to the sister hotel to get them to call us a taxi, no one was there in reception or indeed anywhere on the ground floor of the 5-star hotel. After 5-10 minutes the receptionist came running down the street, insisting that he had called us a taxi and if we had just waited it would have been there. Close to everything. Newly and beautifully redecorated. Very pleasing decor. Clean as a whistle and everything worked. Desk staff terrific and breakfast really good. I don't like dry cereal w/o milk or cream and they had it. Would return in a heart beat.

If you are looking for "Location" only, this is your hotel. If you are looking for a "quiet" nights sleep, look elsewhere. We booked the Executive Double Room for 3 nights. Our air conditioner was so loud, going on and off every twenty minutes, it was impossible to sleep. We talked to the management the next morning and they said they would fix the […] problem. We got in from seeing the sights late that night and the problem was NOT fixed. Again, we were up all night. After complaining again the next morning to the management, we were told it would have to be fixed at a "later" date. We asked to be moved to another room but was told there was nothing available, This was very disappointing because they have a sister hotel just around the corner that we knew had rooms available. The room was clean, small the bathroom nice. We were told we had a queen size bed upon booking but it was two twins pushed together. From the hotel, the Tower is just around the corner and breath taking! All other attractions were close enough to walk, if you like to walk. Breakfast was not great. Very simple. There was no restaurant on site which we were told there was but right around the corner was a great little cafe called Caffe Miami which was awesome. We would have stayed there again if the management would have tried a little harder to take care of our noise problem, so I can say I would not stay there again. The city never seems to sleep. We arrived at the hotel after midinght and there seemed to be so many young people walking about. It was safe to see the Pisa Tower at 1 o'clock in the morning since other seemed to do the same. The atmosphere was relaxing even with the arrival of hordesof tourists at daybreak. It is a conveient place to visit other fascinating […] towns like Lucca nearby. I hit upon a public water pump where the locals went to fill their drinking water bottles in Lucca. the water was really delicious. I also like the laid back atmoshere of the seasise town of Viareggio at the end of September as I was trying to find the Villa of Puccini on the lake. We got the room a little late (they only give it to you after 2pm), and although it was clean and nice, it was small and tight even though they upgraded us (which was nice of them). Tried calling them 6-7 times for wake-up call, but could never get through, and was too tired to walk over to the Orologio just to get them to give me a wake-up call the next morning. So, don't expect to get service late. The location is great. It is within walking distance to the tower. It is also a short walk to restaurants and shopping areas. One thing I would recommend is being ready and outside with your bags when you call for a cab to the airport or station. The Relais Dei Fiori is in an excellent location just minutes away from the leaning tower and baptistry. The hotel rooms were very homey and extremely clean. The marble bathroom was beautiful. Breakfast consisted of fresh croissants and a variety of pastries, cereal, fruit, juice, meat and cheeses. The cappucino was delicious. The only drawback was […] the air conditioning. They should not even advertise that they have air conditioning because it simply doesn't work. If I were to return to Pisa I would stay there again because it was an excellent value for the price and the location was unbeatable. The map printout on Hotels.com website was a little lacking in detail and we started walking in the wrong direction after getting the bus to the tower. A tip - when you get to the train station, just walk straight on out from the front entrance and keep walking, accross the roundabout and head up the street full of shops. Cross the bridge over the river and keep going straight on into the next street full of shops and cafes. At the end of this street, straight on again into Via Carducci and the hotel is halfway up on the left. It is pretty much a straight route door to door! A 15 minute walk at most and a very pleasant one at that. If you get on the bus it will take just as long. Read more

We found it unacceptable that the fact that guests are required to check in at a different hotel, a 400-metre walk along busy cobbled streets, was not made clear on hotels.com before or after our booking was made. Instead we discovered this from other websites, too late to change the booking. The unpleasant surprise for anyone unaware of this and arriving […] at the Fiori tired, late or in bad weather to find a notice on the door with a map of the route to the Orologio should not be underestimated! We stayed in two different rooms in the Fiori before and after a stay in Florence; both were clean and pleasantly decorated. In neither case was the shower satisfactory, however. In the first room the water was stone cold and in the second - although warm (not hot) - the water escaped under the door and soaked the floor, creating hazardous conditions exacerbated by the fact that we had not been given a bath mat. Good points were the breakfast, comfortable beds and - in the first room only - a working safe. Also we were able to leave our baggage in a secure room after checking out, but once again this was 400m away in the Relais dell'Orologio. The lack of information on hotels.com, a major booking site, about the Fiori's lack of its own reception arrangements is unfair to paying clients and needs to be put right without delay. Read more

On arrival had to collect key from hotel a bit of a walk away which when arriving at night presents as an inconvenience. There are no staff at all manning the accomodation from midday. Having said that the accomodation was very reasonably priced. It was clean and pleasantly decorated. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good although you have […] to pay for second coffee. There is a minibar in the room and bottled water is issued daily free of charge. Other minibar options (at a charge)and coffee making facilities in the room would have been appreciated. The location is spot on just a short walk from the tower(came across it by accident when lost looking for hotel on arrival). Very central with shops, restaurants etc on hand. The usual tourist info brochures were absent at the accomodation which would have been handy. Nice hotel let down by the fact that a) the crucial information telling you check in has to be done at the Relais die Orlogia, nearly half a kilometre away down back streets is in tiny print at the end of the details; b) we had no hot water for the first 2 days anywhere in the hotel, c) the air conditioning unit in the room didn't work. When we arrived, tired after a difficult flight (thanks EasyJet), at this small hotel in Pisa the door was locked, there were no staff present and no one answered when we dialled the phone number of the hotel's sister hotel. While several of us stayed to look after the luggage, others walked halfway across town in the heat to the sister hotel in an […] attempt to secure keys. After making two trips across town (for various passport and flight details), we finally got the keys to our rooms. The rooms themselves were fine, although the bathrooms were dark and cramped and the shower flooded the floor. While ideally situated in terms of location, the street itself was incredibly noisy throughout the night (drunks, carousing holidaymakers, Italian lovers fighting until 5am) and none of us got any sleep. Exhausted next morning, the breakfast was basic but fine and the Asian waiter was efficient, pleasant and helpful. He also seemed to be the porter and cleaner, so his attitude was marvellous given his workload. Recommendation~: the hotel needs to have a check-in person on duty when it knows that guests will be arriving and some sort of noise-reducing glass would also be a help in the bedrooms. The hotel is only staffed on the morning. If you arrive after this time you have to find the sister hotel aprox 0.5 miles away Do not pay for a room upgrade Queen Anne bed as the room was tiny and the very nice quilt cover is removed every day by the cleaning maid.

In fact there was no one at the hotel when we arrived, and we arrived late afternoon in the time window when we were told that reception would be open. Then the intercom link to the sister hotel nearby didn't work; so we had to walk round to it to Sign-In. Hotel doors locked when we arrived. Intercom in Italian which unfortunately we couldn't understand. Within 5 minutes an employee on a bike arrived from the sister hotel, we followed him to the sister hotel to book in - bit inconvenient pulling our cases. Room very small but bright and very clean. If your are driving yourself, I would not recommend this hotel. Finding it then getting to it through Pisas one way streets was a nightmare. Parking is pure luck somewhere on the streets. Good Luck. While the staff was nice and accomodating, the hotel needs some updating to be worth recommending.
