"Pretty to look at but ........."

The room was miniscule. I'm talking walk-in closet with a toilet. One night on a bad bed gave me a backache. Guests checking in after midnight disturbed your sleep since there is no sound proofing. They even tell you there will be no refunds due to noise. One the plus side, the place is beautiful, I loved the location, very friending helpful staff and I found the dinning dining to be superb. Their continental breakfast is a joke. A couple of plates with small muffins and coffee and orange juice, that was it. I just expect more for the kind of money they charge for the rooms.

we had a great stay, you can et at the inn or drive a short distance to the nearest town, the rooms can be very small or you can get a god size suite, all with a cozy antique look and feel

What a great place to stay - nestled in a hillside, surrounded by the beauty of the fall colors!

The Brook Forest Inn is a few miles outside of Evergreen, & well worth the drive. It is nestled in the woods in a very intimate setting. They have a liveley bar on one side, and a more formal restaurant on the other. The food was amazing, and I loved sitting in front of the roaring fire chatting with other guests. Our waiter sang beautifully to us, which truly added a great touch to a wonderful evening. There is only one small room in the hotel (the Fransiscan), the others are all good sized. Mine had a balcony and jetted tub, & was very comfortable. Cell service is not great, but isn't that the point of "getting away"? I loved this hotel and plan on going back for years to come.

out of value="5""Everything but the Franciscan room"
Reviewed by Jennifer of Fort Collins on Feb 20, 2008
The Brook Forest Inn is a charming bed and breakfast with good size rooms except for the Franciscan room. The extremely small room was 2/3 the size of my closet at home and we felt claustrophobic by the end of our stay (which was only one night). The service when we checked in was courteous but we couldn't find anybody when we needed to check out and we had to wait 15 minutes before any one responded to the bell.

All of the rooms were very small and none had the ammenities I am accustomed to - not even a telephone. In fact, my room did not even have a clock in it. The bathroom was very small and windows had to be kept open to circulate the air, which allowed mesquitoes to come in at night. It was also very akward trying to carry my bags up the narrow stairways to the 3rd floor. To top it all off, there was no cell phone service so I had to drive a couple of miles up the road to return my phone calls after dinner. The only good thing was the dinner - it was great!

This would be a great romantic hide-away for a couple staying only one night. There was nothing to do for the kids, TV was only 9". No pool and the food was too fancy for the kids. We had to be at a lacrosse tournament by 8:00 AM and had to check out at 7:30 AM, no one was up, the coffee and free breakfest had not even been started. It was a drag.
