The hotel is lovely, but it's fairly overpriced for what it is. 8 dollars for a capuccinno. Six fifty for a scoop of ice cream. They dont need to gouge customers like that. The staff is friendly and accomodating and the rooms are nice. It was an enjoyable vacation for me and my two kids. We hiked and swam in the indoor pool. The hotel's restaurant is way to expensive, so we went to Pizza Hut for dinner and that was delicious. At night, I took my kids to roast marshmallows on the front lawn. I was not informed on how to get the marshmallow kit, but we were prepared. The next day was […] Easter Sunday and there were activities for the kids. My kids did not win the Egg Roll and was kind of sad, and even sadder to leave the place. So, that was the only thing we were not happy about. Overall, the staffs were superbly friendly, the door greeter, I think his name was Scott, was absolutely a wonderful fellow and showed us around. Lovely hotel, great old pictures throughout. Spa services are expensive. There is a $25 charge per room for "resort services." No idea what it is for, but each room is charged, in addition to the room charge.

Great Hotel—Friendly Helpful Staff. Lovely hotel. My husband and I stayed there for three nights with our 2.5 and 4 year old. We all had a fantastic time and really enjoyed the pool, spa, and 1796 restaurant.

Can't say enough about our fantastic one-night getaway. It's a telling sign when you find yourself truly sad to say goodbye to a place after less than 24 hours. Room? Beautiful and immaculate. Beautiful place but service in the Crystal Dining Room for dinner was subpar. Waitress had no knowledge of any of the wines and many wines were not available. Did not have anyone who could make wine recommendations on a Friday night. Service of the meal was slow. It took a long time to get our food. This resort is fabulous. We had the best dinner @ The Crystal Room, and the spa makes you feel like you've died and gone to heaven! The hiking trails are beautiful in the fall and the temperature is quite moderate. Check out the fire pit just outside of The Tavern, and make "Some-Mores!" lots of fun to be had here. My mother and sisters and I decided to go to Bedford for a getaway spa weekend. Overall, the hotel was very nice and the rooms were comfortable. The food service was terrible. Here are several examples: 1. 7:15 reservations in the Crystal Room. Finally acknowledged around 7:30, simply asked curtly what our name was and took us to a seat. Sat there […] until 8 when the waitress approached us. Ordered drinks - one of which they couldn't make because they were out of ingredients. Took food order about 8:30. Never refilled water or checked in on us. 2. Breakfast - about 7 kinds of smoothies listed, they were out of all but one. 3. Spa - had hour break in our spa schedule to order lunch. We asked about ordering lunch at our break, they told us it would take about an hour to arrive - the precise amount of time we had a break for. 4. Asked if my sandwich (lunchmeat) could be put on a different bun. Informed it would be a 25 min wait. 5. Room service was to call us on the way up to let us know the total before they arrived - they never called. Lastly - I booked the trip through Expedia and somehow missed the extra $25 we had to pay per room, per night as a resort fee, so imagine my surprise when I had to pay $100 upon leaving - then to have the parking valet ask me if my "bill had been settled" before turning over my car. So - great hotel if you want to spend $500 plus per night, but I would NOT give them pay for food again. I will say - AWESOME spa services though!! Read more

Had a very nice trip to this hotel. The staff was outstanding in all respects, and the facility is well maintained. Enjoyed seeing all the historical exhibits in the lobby, library, and hallways. Had a very good dinner at the restaurant - 1796 room. Loved the campfire in the evening! The bed was extremely comfortable. It was great to read the paper […] in the morning out on the porch, watching the sunrise. There were just a few things that didn't quite meet my expectations. I felt the room, a queen with a resort-view porch, was a little small. This may be due to the historic nature of the resort, although in my experience older resorts usually have larger rooms. Also, I would have liked to be able to get a coffee in the lobby in the morning without having to pay for it. I know this is a small quibble, but most places offer free coffee. The coffee I did buy from the snack bar was excellent. Finally, the pool is wonderfully located overlooking the golf resort and mountains, with great changing rooms, but I wish it had a 'deep end'. This seems to be a trend now with many resorts. I'm sure it has to do with liability insurance, but it's a shame that you have to swim in 'kiddie' pools' now instead of a pool with a 8 -10 foot deep end. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bedford Springs! I asked my 2 sons (ages 8 & 10) their favorite part of the stay, and they both answered "the indoor pool". You really don't need to leave the property unless you want to visit something specific in the area. It is a beautiful resort in a peaceful setting. My children are very well-behaved, so […] I did not hesitate to bring them to this up-scale resort. There were other kids there, and they do have activities for the kids. Unfortunately, you can't control how others raise their kids. Only one time did I hear kids running down the hall, and I was about to open my door and say something, but they stopped. I did have to say something to 3 older women who were talking very loudly in the hallway at one of their open rooms at 8am. They had also come down the hall talking and laughing very loudly at midnight the night before. There was even a sign reminding everyone that it was "Bedtime in Bedford Springs, shhhh". :) So, if you read this, please remember that you are not the only person on earth (or even in the hotel)!!It was, however a very nice ending to my very bad summer. We were very glad we visited Bedford Springs, and do plan on returning!! I do wish they used queen beds instead of double beds, though! My husband and I are both 5'9", and double beds are not long enough and are very uncomfortable! It is an industry problem, though, not just here. Read more

The property and the room we stayed were very clean. The food was of good (not superb) quality for a resort, but a bit on the expensive side given the quality (especially the wine). The vistas from the hotel were beautiful. If you're a history buff, you'll love the atmosphere, because staying here sends you back to a different time. I would suggest the yoga and the spa service only if you are going to indulge in the spring water pools and baths, which is included in the price. This hotel catered to both families and couples. The facility was clean and elegantly decorated. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We actually relaxed during this vacation and our children didn't want to leave. It was a wonderful escape from the demands of daily living with something offered for every age.
