"Beautiful, gracious hotel."
The hotel is in a beautiful area of Pennsylvania and the town of Bedford is charming. We booked a resort view room with a porch a month ahead of our early July stay. Our room did not have a porch but was a nice size. It was in the spa section, conveniently near the pool. The service at the pool was poor. A late lunch took a very long time and lounge […] chairs were not cleared so it appeared that none were available. If someone had bothered to take the wet towels off of the lounges there would have been plenty. Overall, A nice weekend but not worth the price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
After reading all the rave reviews on this hotel, I expected that it would be the perfect relaxing getaway before the birth of our first child. Unfortunately, the hotel did not meet expectations. There is little to do at the hotel other than lay by the pool, go to the spa, or golf, which I knew in advance. But, the pool was far from relaxing; it was […] a madhouse of unpoliced kids splashing around and generally being kids. It was packed. There were no chairs available when we arrived and there is no waiting list for chairs, so we, along with numerous other guests, were left to stand on high alert for 45 minutes until we could jump on a chair that another waiting guest hadn't already claimed. We were further annoyed when we overheard the group next to us bragging about how they'd given money to a pool attendant to secure them seats. Sure enough, five minutes after they arrived, and even though numerous guests had been waiting much longer for chairs, the attendant came back to them to let them know chairs were opening up. When we eventually beat out the competition for a single seat (yes, we had to share), the woman next to us said she'd originally planned to stay through the next day but wouldn't be because she couldn't enjoy herself by the pool. It was bad. There are also zero umbrellas by the loungers at the pool. To get an umbrella, you either have to pay for a cabana (and there are only about 6 of those), or you have to sit at a table where you'd otherwise only go to eat. Umbrellas are a pretty basic necessity these days, so we were very surprised they weren't available and it definitely took away from our enjoyment of the pool. The pool was also either understaffed, or staffed with inexperienced people, because it took on average 45 minutes to get a drink once it had been ordered. Basically, it appeared that the hotel was booked to capacity and the facilities and staff were unable to accommodate all the guests there. I'd recommend either expanding by at least d Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quick night away for our Anniversary"
My wife and I stayed for one night as a quick getaway from the kids for our anniversary. We thought the resort was great - from the friendly service to the cleanliness of the hotel. We hiked the yellow trail (not more than a simple walk in the woods) but it isn't something we normally do so it was nice. We also had a fabulous dinner in the 1796 room. […] The seating arrangement is pretty neat but for some I can imagine that it could be uncomfortable if you get seated on one of the couches (me and the wife on the same side, very close to other guests at a normal 2 top - so you are basically watching them eat their food). We definitely plan to come back at some point to enjoy the spa, pool, golf and the outdoor fire pit. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hidden historical gem"
Never heard of Bedford Springs before but found it on the internet and glad I did. Lovingly restored resort with really interesting history. The staff were all so polite and friendly and took pride in the hotel. Enjoyed a weekend there. There are three restaurants on the premises, a steak house, a bar/tavern, and a dining room that services buffet and […] ala carte breakfast, lunch and upscale dinners. We had the breakfast buffet (very good), dinner in the dining room (I enjoyed mine very much although my husband said his chicken was so dry it was pretty unpleasant), and dinner in the tavern. On the whole, dining options are a little pricey, but nothing crazy (hey, we're from Philadelphia), and mostly good. I would recommend staying at the resort to eat because the town is small and there aren't many options. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very relaxing and surprisingly upscale"
The great experience of this hotel begins the moment you drive onto the grounds. The landscapes are breathtaking, and the valet and door greeter are authentically sincere and welcoming. We looked forward to a simple two-night getaway to escape from the chaos of busy work and family life. This resort exceeded our expectations. The restaurants were top […] notch, the spa and grounds well exceeded our expectations. The beds were very comfortable, albeit a little too many feathers for my liking. We especially enjoyed sitting by the fire pit both nights, roasting marshmallows, and chatting with other hotel guests. We can't wait to come back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Overall above average"
I had a late night check-in and departure early next morning due to an unplanned personal business obligation. So I cannot provide a realistic feedback on the overall experience with the resort. But a few things I can tell from the limited hours spent is that it's first glance onsite is somewhat mesmerizing. Some added functionality based furniture […] would make the rooms better. Such as only single sofa or chair doesn't suffice a family's relaxing sitting space. The dine-in space was way smaller than that of standard hotels with King Size rooms. TV and phone sets were really older models, from 1980's. Some prominent sign posting to guide first time-vistors/drivers at night is a must-do recommendation to the hotel management. My navigation took me straight to the loading dock and there weren't any sign postings or info board etc as which direction to follow to get to the front. There wasn't any sign posting on the main road toward the main resort/ hotel either. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"This is a great place to just relax"
This was my third stay there in eleven months. Beautiful location and historic hotel in the Cumberland Valley. This hotel has a fabulous spa, an award winning golf course, thirty miles of hiking trails, a great fire pit in the evenings and the best beds I have ever slept on. The hotel staff in every department will bend over backward to make your stay […] enjoyable. This hotel is also only 25 miles from the Flight 93 National Memorial site and about 80 miles from the Gettysburg National Battlefield. It is located in the beautiful Allegeny Mountains and is also only about 90 miles from Frank Lloyd Wright's famous Fallingwater. The whole area is rich in history and natural beauty. I would certainly stay there again as often as possible. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Birthday celebration at Bedford Springs hotel!"
The staff at the hotel were all superb. the Crystal dining room breakfast buffet was lovely. The fresh fruit and berries were perfect. The formal fine dining and wine pairings were done very nicely at 1796 dining room on my birthday. The waiter service and food were perfect. The Olympic pool with mineral waters was warm and soothing after the cold winter. We […] loved it and will go back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A great long weekend getaway"
We've stayed at Bedford several times (spring and fall) and have thoroughly enjoyed the facilities, restaurants and hiking trails...a truly relaxing experience. Very good experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Spent one night and had a great time, the hotel is totally refurbished and clean with many things to do. you get a real sense of history staying here, it used to be a resort in the 19th century because of all the natural springs in the area, I guess back then clean water was a luxury. We did a hike on the well marked trails, sat by the firepit, had […] an excellent steak at the restaurant 1796. was a good experience I would recommend it Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Excellent kid-friendly resort"
This was an elegant, well cared-for hotel and spa that was great for families. It's a beautiful hotel and would be very romantic, if it weren't so popular with families. "Snowed in...No problem"
Travelled to Bedford Springs with my kids in order to be close to skiing. Got stuck in the big snow of 2014. Being snowed in wasn't a problem. We enjoyed the pool, played UNO in the hotel's comfortable library, sipped tea by the fireplace and played checkers. We also enjoyed lunch at the Frontier Tavern which was also kid friendly. The valet staff were […] wonderful helping me with my luggage, clearing my car of snow and warming it up for my family. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
It is obvious that Omni Bedford Springs makes customer service a priority! Every staff member who greeted us was incredibly friendly (not in a fake because we have to way) and genuinely wanted to make sure that our stay there was a good experience. We were in the historic wing which was wonderful. It was, by today hotel standards, a long walk to room […] from the stairs or elevator but that was one of the wonderful nuances. This is an old building, rich with history and that is how it was designed! We enjoyed food and relaxation in the tavern, had massages in the incredible spa and took in a wonderful Yoga class. The hotel was booked, but we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Loved it -- can't wait to go back! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Gorgeous Historic Gem"
The hotel is gorgeous and the staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Scott who works at the front door. The valet service is top notch and the cars are delivered very quickly for any trips to town or checkout. The valet crew always had my heated seats on and the heat cranked up, so the car was nice a toasty for my trip. (It was FREEZING during […] my trip!) The only downsides that I have, was that we had a room by the elevator and it was very noisy and our room was a handicapped accessible room which had a no-barrier shower which flooded the bathroom everytime you took a shower. This was remedied by putting down extra towels, but if you stay here ask for a room away from the elevator and, if you do not require it, a non-handicapped accessible room. Overall, my experience was relaxing and luxurious and I will be going back again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great midwinter romantic getaway"
This was our second time staying here and we had a lovely time. We live just 2 hours away so it is an easy, quick romantic getaway for is. Neither of us golf, so coming up midwinter to swim in the spring water pool and use the spa did the trick. This was my first experience at the spa, and as I'm 33 weeks pregnant, I had the 'mamma to be' massage. You […] could spend all day lounging in the bath ritual area, (any spa service includes it and they suggest getting there at least a half hour before to take advantage) and lounging in the waiting area where they provide berries, teas, nuts and fruit water. I loved lounging in my robe as I waited for my massage. We also took advantage of the warmer (40 degrees!) weather to walk some of the trails. There are two of the seven springs on the property that are very easy to get to, and if you want a heartier walk (we didn't as my balance is questionable) you can hike into the woods. We also ate lunch at nearby Horn O Plenty for amazing farm to table food. Overall, I'd recommend for a romantic getaway. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great history, but it's not mentioned"
The history of this hotel is amazing... It was once used as the whitehouse among other things, but there is no mention of this anywhere in the hotel, or at least our room. The hotel was beautiful. In fact, I would consider getting married there. The room had a wonderful view, was clean and very comfortable. I wish I could have stayed longer to use more of the resort activities! The service was good. However, I found that the hotel staff were frequently away from their stations and you would need to wait for someone to […] appear. Honestly, I didn't mind mostly because I wasn't in a rush to get anywhere. However, I could see how that might be inconvenient. When the staff did appear, they were very helpful and friendly. Overall, I would rate the hotel and staff a 4.5. My biggest annoyance was the GPS systems did not have the travel route correct. Like everything about this resort. Friendly staff and great facilities. You can take the planned tours or just hang out at the outdoor pool. Lots of history on display such as pictures and document about the hotel from the early 1800's. Great stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
The Omni at Bedford Springs is a great hotel to get away for a weekend. The imagery is beautiful, the staff very courteous, and the Spa and Golf course first rate. The outdoor lawn and fire pit are welcoming at night and kids catching fireflies while the adults relax on Adirondack chairs is a great example of why this time capsule of a resort does so […] well. The only drawbacks are that the rooms are small, the outdoor pool can get crowded, and, if you have bad weather, there is not much else to do in the surrounding area of Bedford. Enjoy! "Quiet and serene hotel in the mountain's valley."
Recently had the gift of a 2 night stay at this resort. Wished I had more time to explore the resort and the surrounding natural beauty. All meals were good, from each of the restaurants, with the best being in the most relaxed pub. Staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive, even with a small mishap with our room. Everything was taken care of professionally […] and immediately. The absolute best was the serenity spa. Enjoyed an 80 minute massage, and the next day an 80 minute facial. Their menu of spa treatments was plentiful and varied. The springs baths, pools and drinking water was crisp and refreshing all around. I've planned my next trip back. "Beautiful, but not perfect."
For the cost, you have higher expectations. Rooms are noisy - slamming doors throughout the evening, footsteps above you, noises from the room next to you. Not sure if it's from the heavy solid doors, thin walls or just lack of insulation. But it is distracting. The bed needed to be replaced (at least in our room). Sat on the edge and it ended up collapsing […] down a bit and then caused a sloping from the middle. When I looked, I wished I hadn't. The mattress was covered with stains, etc. We also had a room with a porch, which was a community porch - so you want to keep your blinds closed. Also, even though spiders and wasps are quite good at reconstructing their homes - you could tell that noone had done a good cleaning of the outside walls, rails and ceiling. Made you not want to "stay outside" and enjoy the porch. The 1796 dining experience was not what I expected. Loud - very loud - nothing romatic, very little charm. The food was only okay - nothing to make me want to go back for dinner. The tavern was quaint - food was poor to okay - again, nothing spectacular. The Crystal Dining Room breakfast buffet was expensive, but probably the best based on lunch and dinner the day before. Staff was excellent regardless of where you were and the grounds were exceptional. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

It was an enjoyable vacation for me and my two kids. We hiked and swam in the indoor pool. The hotel's restaurant is way to expensive, so we went to Pizza Hut for dinner and that was delicious. At night, I took my kids to roast marshmallows on the front lawn. I was not informed on how to get the marshmallow kit, but we were prepared. The next day was […] Easter Sunday and there were activities for the kids. My kids did not win the Egg Roll and was kind of sad, and even sadder to leave the place.
