I checked into my room on July 18th and late on July 19th when I moved the curtain to open the door to the balcony I found a large paper airport receipt from a previous guest dated July 13th! If you are looking for somewhere to stay with kids or for a lads weekend it is not really worth the expense...stay at the Merton instead. Perfect location for the town and the taxi rank is right outside the front of the hotel, also the bus station is a couple of minutes away. We stayed in the cheapest of the rooms and it was a little cramped, when we go there again I will pay the extra for a larger room. Great breakfast, absolutely nothing but praise for this hotel.

Uf you are paying full whack for a nice room its probably a great hotel, but if youre bookibg an online 'bargain' silver room think again. Food was nice but pretty average at zephyr bar. Staff were very welcoming from the minute of our arrival. my son and I had 2 rooms next door to each other which made life easy and the rooms were spotlessly clean, warm and with everything that we would need to make our stay comfortable. My son used the gym and pool facilities and was impressed. We had breakfast each day and again the staff were friendly […] and attentive with a good range of breakfast food. The location of the hotel was perfect for our needs and the lively bars in the evening were an added bonus. New part of the hotel superb. Unfortunately we were in the old part and it was very disappointing. Room was fine but it was very dark and we had to draw the curtains and put the light on as we were overlooked. The main problem for us was the extremely squeaky floorboards in our room and in the corridor outside. It kept us awake most nights - even earplugs […] didn't help. The Royal Yacht Hotel met all of our needs, comfortable, clean and the food very good, I would recommend this hotel with no hesitation and the staff were pleasent and helpful. the hotel is very close to shops, bars and restuarants which is a bonus for holiday makers. Not sure about parking you would have to enquire about this prior to your stay.

This hotel does not have a car park and does not assist in parking your car for you. We had to park in a public carpark which is quite a distance from the hotel. We stayed in a silver double room for 5 nights and throughly enjoyed our stay. The room was impeccably clean and of a good size. We were in the 'older' part of the hotel fronting the side street and being on the 4th floor we had very little noise from the clubs and bars below. Stayed at the royal yacht a couple of times before, but found that it has really gone down hill this time. The cleanliness and quality of the hotel / room itself were still very good, albeit our room was on the side of the hotel which was extremely noisy at night. However, the staff in the restaurants and bar were awful, particularly in cafe zephyr. […] Not one of them ever cracked a smile, and all were very rude, with no manners let alone customer service. Furthermore, they were mostly foreign who spoke very poor English so it was difficult to communicate with them. Upon returning to the hotel each evening you were treated like a criminal with the doors locked and being interrogated by the night porter who was very abrupt questioning your name and room number, and appearing to reluctantly let you back in! Not the sort of service you expect for a 4* hotel charging such high prices! The spa receptionist was also rude, not wanting to give us a locker key as "guests usually get changed in their room as the spa gets very busy at weekends"!! She looked at us in disgust when saying this as if we should have known better! I have to say that the staff at breakfast were the exception and were quite efficient and polite. On the whole, it feels like the yacht staff think they are doing you a favour letting you stay at 'their' hotel, sorry you're wrong, those annoying guests pay your wages! Will not be staying again! Arrived early at hotel and they were happy to take our cases from us until it was time to check in. When we went back to check in our case had been taken to our room. Room were clean and comfortable. All staff were happy to help at all times. Breakfast there was always a very large selection. we enjoyed our stay.

The overall feel of the hotel is one of luxury and value added. The quality of the fixtures and fittings is excellent, the decor and ambience very pleasant and calming. The cleanliness is superb with a lot of time spent by cleaning staff in making sure the room is spruced up each morning. There is a turn down service at night which we were not expecting, […] so we can refresh any items that may have been used up - like extra tea, coffee, toiletries. The staff were extremely attentive without being intrusive. The breakfast was delicious, with egg chefs preparing eggs perfectly to your taste. The spa facilities were very tasteful, with a range of rooms and treatments on offer. The pool was perfect although children under 16 yrs can't use the area at all - which is great for guests who want a bit of piece and quiet, less helpful for families but the hotel do provide complimentary passess to the Aqua splash pool nearby. Overall its the best hotel I've stayed in and I have stayed in several 5 star hotesl in Europe and the Far East. Had 4 night stay at The Royal Yacht with husband for anniversary. Had deluxe gold room on top floor. Staff were brilliant, location perfect for restaurants, tourist buses, shops and museums. Breakfast was excellent but our cut price room in the original part of the hotel was acceptable but bit on the small side. Make sure you ask for a quiet room away from the side road.

Stayed here for a weekend break. Impressed with hotel and friendly staff, great facilities, very clean, breakfast excellent. On Friday, our 1st night our room overlooked the side street with the taxi rank and burger bar - very noisy up until 3am with all the youngsters coming out of the bars, clubs etc to get food and a taxi home, so we asked to be […] moved the next day and got a complimentary upgrade to a lovely room on an interbal corridor, and much much quieter. Staff obviously aware noise from the side street affects visitors and although it's double glazed there is little more they could do. They did fix this for us though with minimal fuss and the rest of our stay was great. The swimming pool, gym and spa facilities were excellent and not too busy throughout our stay. Great location for walking and getting around on the bus too to see more of Jersey. If you book via Hotels.com etc on a cheap rate you don't get the premium rooms advertised in the new part of the building but you get the rooms in the older part, having said that they are clean, modern and suitable. The Royal Yacht hotel in Jersey was everything needed for a perfect weekend away. The staff were very friendly, even when meeting them in the corridors and took time to make sure everything was as we required. The room had been refurbished, but the standard of decor in the whole hotel was very good overall. Absolutely not disappointed we stayed here! Superb room (if a little small) in the old wing - but it was well furnished, very clean and well-appointed with a turn-down service, luxury towels and linen. Unbeknown to us, the hotel seems to be THE place to be at the weekend - with several bars and a big nightclub for people who like to dress to impress. […] But don't let that put you off - punters were well-behaved and we heard absolutely nothing in our room and so enjoyed an undisturbed sleep. There is no official parking but directly in front is room for about 8 cars on a private stretch of road with no restrictions. We were advised though by the doormen to move our hire car to an adjacent street before 2am when the nightclub turned out, just in case! There is also a public car park about 2min walk away so no great problem. Sadly, we didn't get a chance to use the spa facilities, one small gripe was that at the weekend the pool doesn't open until 8am so this can delay your day by the time you shower and breakfast after. We had one evening meal and it was certainly no worse than anywhere else - but in a place buzzing with atmosphere. Reception was friendly and efficient, breakfast was sumptious and even more enjoyable having it on the balcony watching the town, Liberation Square and harbour area come alive. The staff (mostly Polish) even noticed that it was my partner's birthday and gave her a complimentary glass of champagne. A perfect end to a perfect stay. Hope to be back. Read more
