Our stay in Bordeaux was fantastic. Overall, the hotel was fabulous and concierge service was incredible. The room was very clean and all of the staff were helpful and friendly. The spa was lovely and I'd recommend making time to use the pool and steam room. The sauna even had a great view. The rooftop jacuzzi was great and the view of the city was […] amazing. My only complaints would be that the restaurant was closed, room set up was a little awkward without a bureau and two requests for additional 'milk' with the in-room coffee was ignored. Getting to the hotel was not easy so be prepared to drive around a bit before figuring it out. Location of the hotel was great to do a walking tour of the major landmarks. If you plan to visit any wineries, make reservations ahead of time with the concierge and consider a car service, as driving/finding them is difficult even with a GPS. Read more

The Grand is grand -- luxurious, with perfect service and comfort. The location is right in the heart of Bordeaux, near all of the most important touring sights and shopping. We were extremely happy with this place. Don't miss the view from the rooftop bar and spa!

The hotel staff was excellent, all spoke great English. They were very helpful in arranging taxi's, train schedules and recommendations for trips around the region. We secured a great rate for their basic room and they still upgraded us (Deluxe from Superior). Access to the adult only pool and jacuzzi are as much as around $15 per day per person. Fee depends on your room rate. Breakfast buffet is around $40 per person. The pool might be worth a day's visit but just go to a nearby cafe for breakfast or grab a croissant and cup of coffee across the street for around $5. This hotel is what dream vacations are made up. This is a grand hotel in a historical buiding right in the center of Bordeaux ( across Grand Theater) . The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated, but quite smaller than we expected . They quote the smallest room size as 25sqm, most probably they include bathroom, built-in wardrobes etc - so the actual size is much,much smaller. We had a great […] rate from Expedia, however be warned that all the extras are as grand as the hotel - breakfast is 36 Euro pp, access to spa , parking cost similar figures. The staff was polite and effective. The only exception was with a concierge who reserved a restaurant for us for Saturday evening and acted like it was some achievement. We expected the place to be quite popular , but when we arrived to the place at 8 pm , we found a totally empty place and just half a dozen waiters waiting for a client. Read more

Elegant and very well located. The bar is excellent, with a good choice of Bordeaux wines. My only complaint is that we got a very small room the second time we stayed there.

Our room was great. Other reviews say the room was dark, which was true. All the lights on and still hard to read. Bed was super comfortable and included all amenities. Julian, a concierge, was especially helpful, setting up two days of visits at the last minute.

Closer to the action than the other top hotels on the waterfront. Great atmosphere. Better than the Carlton in my opinion. We paid to upgrade to poll and ocean view and it was worth it. Pool looked great but noone swam in it because it's too public. Private beach cost too much even if staying at the hotel.

The Regent is a classic grand hotel right in the heart of Bordeaux. Rooms are beautifully appointed and spacious. The buffet breakfast is excellent but was not included in our room rate, and we didn't return after receiving the 64 euro charge for the two of us. There are several cafes nearby for cheaper (and lesser) breakfast options.

We just spent Christmas in the hotel. We were up-graded and were given two absolutely lovely rooms. The rooms were cleaned and re-stocked daily and turned down every evening. Hotel is great and strives to the highest standards. Rooms a bit on the small side and only junior/suites face the opera house. Prices are ridiculous, €32 for breakfast and €20 for a cocktail. Restaurant is eyewateringly expensive which is a shame as it looks nice. Loved the hotel, pure style and luxury in the heart of Bordeaux. It's not cheap but the service is fantastic. We didn't eat there but did use the spa, which is not free for guests - €50 per couple seems very steep but it is beautiful. If you can afford it, there's nowhere else to stay in Bordeaux.

We really enjoyed our stay- great location and helpful staff. They did have two problems. Their internet service had trouble identifying any Apple product so your iPad probably won't connect. Seems that is a long term issue. Second point was the breakfast. Certainly good food but it's price is the highest I have seen in a hotel of this quality.

My wife and I stayed in the Grand during our honeymoon in France. Bordeaux and the Grand were the highlight of the three week trip. The hotel has amazing service, great rooms, and is located in a perfect area. We went to Bordeaux for the wine and the hotel has recently added a Wine Concierge service. They booked two days of tours with their in-house […] driver. We had the best time of our lives. The driver was so fantastic that we will wished we could have stayed longer and done more tours. Everyone in the hotel followed suit with their service as well. We received recommendations on places to eat and didn't have a single bad experience. We didn't eat in the hotel because there were so many options within a 5 min walk. The room top bar was a fabulous way to finish off a day of wondering around the city. It has a stunning view during sunset. The room was spacious and had a older but fun style. This is the kind of place that makes you understand why a 5 star hotel is worth every penny. The hotel was absolutely beauriful and perfectly placed; the only let-down was the staff who were rude, unhelpful and unapologetic for not providing us with a room, 4 hours after we checked in (which we did early, in their semi-defence).
