"Smooth 25 min drive to ski mountatins"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 21, 2013
The inn is staffed with wonderful people, who were very friendly and helpful. We were offered DVD of choice, and had small TVs but fine enough to watch in fron of the gas fireplaces in our rooms. Board games available galore, and even popcorn was offered The building is older, and rough around the edges a bit, but it fits the ambience of the region. If you are looking for a Hilton, or even a Holidsy inn express, this is not it. It's a home, tuned into a warm friendly inn, and their breakfast was wonderful.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and convenient to the event we attended.
"inexpensive hotel well worth it."
Good price for this Killington Resort Area. Good location. Steep hill that can be tricky in the snow. Not enough parking spaces.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not Made in Vermont"
A very interesting (in a bad way) stay. I was the only person staying there my first night. When I entered the room, the lights had the most horrendous, flickering buzz; all of them. The sheets and blanket had rips and tears in them, there was no thermostat ac/fan/heater for white noise (not really an issue for the only tenant in the building), and only […] a standing shower. The second night, a total of three rooms rented out and we were packed in right next to each other - 102,103,104. This, combined with the air duct heater and no white noise available, led to a rather noisy night as amorous couple mamboed and TVs raged through the night. Why not at least put one room between, or whole floor, us? They had upwards of 80 available rooms and they put us all right next to each other as close to the office as possible. Sucky. And to top it all off, they don't give any utensils for stirring your coffee after you add sugar! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for party people!"
The heat control is not in the room - it was a bit chilly. Towels were scarce - we had to ask for more & they did give us more towels, soap, shampoo. Next to us was a overcrowded room full of boarders - they were extremely loud all night. The breakfast - coffee was scarce - no decaf. This place is better for young party people rather than families.Genuine Expedia guest review
"so-so hotel if going on the cheap"
Walls are paper thin, bed very uncomfortable. If you're going cheap just to have a place to stay it is okay - if you are a very sound sleeper. Bring your own pillows and extra blankets, not enough are provided. Staff was friendly but under trained. We were checked in by the housekeeper who did not know the check in procedure. I'm waiting to see exactly […] what I'm billed on my credit card and am prepared to fight extra charges if need be. It was the most awkward check in experience ever! "Perfect budgetary slope side stay"
I have been skiing for 15 years now and have experienced many hotels near resorts. Hillside inn had a great price, is a clean, and is conveniently located. This is not a fancy Hilton! It is the perfect hotel for that budgetary ski trip!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Comfortable and convenient"
Just needed a place to sleep and was pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean and comfortable. We were surprised to see a micro, fridge, and a sink in our room. It would be perfect for a skiing weekend. Would definitely comeback!Genuine Expedia guest review

"A nice family run hotel"
We stayed there 1 night on Columbus Day weekend. The staff was very friendly & help full. The room was neat & the hotel had a kept up appearance. The breakfast was good with waffles included in the menu. The wireless internet was slow at times, but I got what I needed to do done. Close parking is limited, but available. We think this a is a good place […] to stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Clean and comfortable. Breakfast is just a few items bought from supermarket and kept on the kitchen countertop in its original packing. They could put a little more effort to add some variety and presentation.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
not enough parking for the rooms soom people had one room but 2 and 3 cars. We had to park down a road in back and walk in the rain. Not right at allGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Big room. I was put into a handicap room..don't know why. It was on the first floor which was nice due to having a lot of luggage/gear. Continental breakfast wasn't the greatest. Room had a bit of an odor.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel for Skiers"
Just needed a wheelchair-accessible place to spend the night. The bathroom wasn't really accessible. However, this would be a great place to stay if skiing. Three racks to hang damp clothes. Nice microwave/fridge/extra sink/coffee maker. Fast WiFi! Right on the access road to the slopes!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Our stay"
It was very nice. it was very quite and the view was very beautiful. The hotel staff and the people that stayed were very plesant. The only consern that i really had was that the room should of been a bit cleaner, my son had found an ear plug under the bed. Over all my family and I had a wonerful stay at the Hillside Inn.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A really good value."
We were quite comfortable...and think about it...when you turn the lights out to go to sleep.....all rooms look just about the same, don't they? The staff was very friendly, the room was clean....what more could we really need? I would (and will) stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice place to stay."
Stayed one night during the non-sking season. The room was nice and clean. The toilet and shower were in a separate rooms. Service was quick without any issues. Did not use any other of their facilities so I can't comment on that.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was clean and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the quiet surroundings.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great room, quiet, clean and efficient."
Nice quiet location in off season with large room including small kitchen with microwave, small fridge and kitchen sink with several clean cabinets. Bath with seperate toilet room was a nice convenience with 2 able to get ready at the same time!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely little hotel in the woods of Killington"
This hotel is a few miles away from the main highway in Killington and has a little trail leading into the woods right by the front parking lot. The staff was very helpful, our room was ready right away and was cozy and had a surprising number of amenities for an inexpensive room: microwave, good sized fridge, etc. and was a comfortable place to spend […] the night. The morning free breakfast was also pretty impressive considering how affordable the place is: waffle iron, cereal, toast and orange juice/coffee with jam and syrup on the side. I'll definitely keep this place in mind next time I hike the Long Trail! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good hotel for a reasonable price."
The room was clean, however the toilet was dirty from the room not being used for a long time. No air conditioning or fan and guests were loud. Also no mattress covers were used just sheets on the mattress. Otherwise it was a good place to stay. No bed bugs which I know how to check for which was great! The breakfast was excellent. I would go back.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Spider Heaven...."
This hotel was 'musty," for lack of a better word. The pillow cases were stained, and there were spiders EVERYWHERE...in the shower, in each corner of the room, up the walls, etc. Not Fun. Also no way to control temperature, and it was super cold at night. We will not be going back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Really really clean"
The room was really clean, fresh and up to date. Only drawback is that you do not have control of the heat or A/C, but the staff brought a fan and all was well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel for those with pets!"
The Inn is dog-friendly, the grounds are lovingly maintained, the staff is very helpful and the breakfast was perfect for our needs. We've stayed at 3 inns at Killington and this one was our favorite. We will definitely return.Genuine Expedia guest review
"No Airconditioning"
This place may be great in the winter. The room was clean. The bed was adequate. The shower had good water pressure. But there's NO air conditioning which was not at all obvious from the listing. My husband and I just spent two sweltering sleepless nights here. Also front desk help doesn't speak clear English nor understand non -accented English.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"clean and a seasonal bargain price"

"Meh"
While we got a pretty good deal for the price, the hotel was almost completely deserted except for the last night (the website said that the rooms were soundproofed and they definitely weren't). We were disappointed that there wasn't an oven/stove like it said there would be and we never found the arcade/game room that was listed on the website. There […] was a skeleton staff working because it was during the off season. Pros: Clean and well maintained Offered a breakfast Quiet Cons: Guy running the front desk was kinda weird and he would sit in the office in the morning while we had breakfast and make loud phone calls. He would also sit in the parking lot on a lawn chair and wait for people to leave their rooms to open the office door for breakfast rather than just leaving it unlocked or sitting in the office like any other normal hotel. Breakfast was REALLY minimal. Mini-bagels, danish, slices of white bread, orange juice, two types of cereal (somewhat stale), milk, muffins, and coffee/cocoa. None of it was fresh. Nothing fresh offered. The last night, we found it difficult to sleep due to the noise from the room next to ours. Given that it was the off season, you'd think they'd be able to spread people out more so that wouldn't happen. All in all, it wasn't terrible. We spent most of our time out touring so we enjoyed our trip. We were just a little weirded out by the office clerk. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Bare bones stay close to Killington skiing"
Stayed here for one night with a family group. While the location is extremely close to Killington and Pico mountains there were really no other redeeming qualities for this motel. The woman I dealt with upon check in was rude and curt although the man who checked me out was very nice and I wish he had been the one doing check in as it would have created […] a much better first impression of the place. Our room was basic and fine for one night. There is a kitchenette but if you are planning to use it be prepared to bring your own plates, utensils, etc. as there was not a single item in the cupboards. Although there was a complimentary breaksfast included in our stay we did not take advantage. The breakfast room was dark and depressing and we were happy to pay for a pleasant meal in a local restaurant instead. The parking situation is also a little tricky. If the motel is full it seems like there is not enough parking as several cars were parked during our stay off the side of the drive/road or blocking parked cars in the lot. Also, the hotel is on a steep hill and the side road could use better snow clearing/salting/sanding. It was pretty slippery while we were there and I imagine cars without great ice and snow handling might have a hard time getting into and out of the parking lots. All in all, I am glad we were only there for one night. I will definitely pick any other option the next time we are in Killington even if I have to pay double for the same basic room. "Great value close to Killington Skiing"
We arrived at 10:30 pm to find the office closed. However, all we had to do was ring the bell and the manager came out to welcome us and present us with our room key. The layout of the room was very user friendly for a family. The separate toilet, sink, and shower/changing area was perfect for our foursome to get ready for skiing in the morning without […] getting in each others way. We really liked the microwave, sink, and small fridge. The continental breakfast was adequate and included cooked to order waffles. The hotel was clean and had comfortable beds.
