"Great location, comfortable stay."
The first key that reception gave us was an occupied room, leading us to think that security could be improved if the administration by reception was betterGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Comfy bed and great service"
I had a pleasant nights stay at this hotel - it was very easy to find from Liverpool Lime Street station, and the staff at reception were very helpful. I had booked into a single room, but ended up with a spacious room with two beds which was a bonus! The room didn't have much natural light which was a shame, and it was next to the lift, but this got […] turned off from 10pm-7.30am so it didnt keep me awake. Very comfortable bed. Continental breakfast in the morning was adequate. Good communal lounge area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"In need of redecoration"
The room was a bit sparse and the fittings in the bathroom were missing and could do with a good revamp. It is quite close to the railway station and taxi rank, but I suppose it is OK for a one night stop. Even though I did get a reasonably good sleep despite the lift was outside my door, but the owners stopped operating this after a certain time so […] as not to disturb guests as it is a little noisy. A continental breakfast is included in the price. , Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good value for money"
Very central, staff were all very friendly. A basic hotel but clean, comfortable room so good value for money.Genuine Expedia guest review
2 minutes from Lime St Station. Good service, comfy bed, clean room and bathroom.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good staff with good location, right beside the station. Huge tv which looked ridiculous In a small room. They could have spent the money on better quality items such as a towel without holes, a shower door that isn't broken and is precariously held on, carpets that aren't fraying or a Boiler system that works. They said turn on the hot tap, when it […] is a good temperature the shower will be ready. After 15 mins of thinking the water would never be hot it became "warm" I got in the shower and it was warm not hot for about 15 seconds before I had a freezing cold shower. Lovely..especially when the door was hanging off the shower cubicle. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Somewhat run down but clean and very central"
Hotel is tired and lacks the facilities of modern hotels as it is one of the original Liverpool Hotels that I remember from my youth. It needs a good injection of money to refurbish it. Having said that it served our purpose of somewhere to sleep for the night.Genuine Expedia guest review
"No Heat in Room 125"
The Lord Nelson is great for train travelers (literally down the hill from the hotel), but I was so cold in my room that it took quite a while for me to get to sleep. The desk attendant came to my room to insure that the heater was on and fully functioning, but it never made much difference for me. This may only be Room 125's issue, but I would not […] stay at the hotel again if it were that cold. The room itself was fine and the hotel staff was courteous. The breakfast the next morning was ample. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel for the price"
Great hotel for the price. Lovely size room and nice and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was near to lime street train station. It was nice to be able to leave our bags at the hotel after check out as we were not leaving until 4.pm. It was a shame the window was frosted,it would of been nice to look out.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Enjoyed my stay"
I stayed at this hotel after a concert at the o2 Academy, really enjoyed my stay, only thing which could have been better was having items such as hairdryers in the room and if the check out time was a little later. Other than that the stay was lovelyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Basic hotel close to station."
Fine if you want a low cost bed for the night. Room was clean but basic. No desk or chair. Could feel the springs in the bed. Hotel has very few facilities.Genuine Expedia guest review
Had to change rooms twice, first room TV didn't work, a super TV by the way, second room had no hot water, third room absolutely fine.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Comfort hotel convenient to the station & theatre"
Comfortable, basic hotel which is extremely convenient to station and Liverpool Empire, although can be noisy during the night, as some patrons of the hotel don't believe they should sleep and should run up and down the corridors at 3am talking at the top of their voices. Other than that, it was a comfortable stay.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Pity the quality doesn't match the location"
Hotel refurbished a few years back - seems the budget was crazily distributed - massive samsung TV in very small room with a cheap nasty mattress. Could have spent much less on TV and bought decent bedding stuff. Also what's the point of putting in single sockets these days? If you have one thing charging and tv on, then you have to unplug one of them […] to boil the kettle, as there were only 2 single sockets in the room. Damp smell due to erxtreme condensation and resulting mould around windows. Great location for what I need, but don't think I can do it again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"5 star hotel with 2 star price!"
The title says it all. The Lord Nelson Hotel in Liverpool is the best little hotel for the price I've ever stayed in. The location is superb. Out of the station and 2 minutes walk later, you are right there. Staff were very friendly. I had a single bed room at the back and could hear the music from the Academy next door. Nothing too much and I was too […] tired anyway. The room was small but large enough to lay my luggage on the ground. Quality of the fit-out of the room was a real surprise. It was of a high standard, complete with 40 inch flat screen TV. Had a lovely stay and then breakfast the next morning was fine. Will definitely be back. Would be happy to stay with my family here. "Close to Station, but noisy."
The Hotel served its purpose as a base when I attended a convention. The main stairs and landing were noisy with regular traffic through the small hours disturbing sleep. Good simple buffet breakfast. I arrived at 1pm before the rooms were ready, but used the baggage store room until I could return. Staff pleasant and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good breakfast ok for one night stop over"
The rooms are very small ,there is no where to put your cloths.the rooms needs to be up dated, they stop the lift at night so you have people going up and down with suit cases it's to noisy .Genuine Expedia guest review
"noisy before 11!"
Basic hotel, very well located, between railway station and concert venue.. plenty hot water in shower but shower head wonky, only heating from convector heater. Continental breakfast ok, had to ask for refill of coffee. Wifi non existent in rooms but fine in breakfast room / lounge. Unless really short of cash will not choose to stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"No frills here"
I chose this hotel because of the cost and the proximity to the coach station, and it's certainly central, and cheaper than other hotels! I'd worried about the reports of noise - there's an O2 Academy next door, as it turns out - but everything was very peaceful. The staff were very friendly, and very helpful in advising where to explore around town. The […] room was very basic and small, and the bathroom was not that inviting, but at least the bed was comfy. It was convenient for one night, but if I was staying any longer, I'd look elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
After reading a few mixed reviews I decided to take a chance and book this hotel as it was the cheapest in the area that I needed to stay in. Usually, as things go, you get what you pay for so I wasn't expecting a lot, however when I arrived I was instantly impressed with the look of the hotel and there was also a car park right opposite which was a […] big factor for me. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were really nice and exceptionally clean. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Liverpool in the future. "Brilliant budget hotel, ideal for a short stay."
The Lord Nelson hotel is a brilliant budget hotel for a short stay in Liverpool. The location is ideal for Lime Street station, which is quite literally a 2 minute walk from the front door. The noise from the academy close by can be a little annoying, but the windows to a pretty good job of shutting most, if not all of this out. The room itself was […] a little on the small side, but I would rather have a small single room with a double bed in it such as this, than have a room with a tiny single bed tucked away in the corner. The televisions in the room are of good quality and a good size and the new en suite shower rooms are fantastic! One thing i did find rather strange was that they took a photocopy of my ID at reception when checking in; they assured me it would be destroyed after checking out, but this has never happened to me in any other hotel I have stayed in and I found it a little peculiar. I would definitely stay here again when booking a short stay in Liverpool. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice big and clean room"
We had a pleasant stay all in all. The only drawbacks were the breakfast standard that could have been a bit higher even within the limited price of the room, and that it was ages before the water in the shower got warm.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"good location, but not quiet"
The hotel is conveniently placed beside Lime Street station; however, this means it's on a noisy, busy street. There's also no a/c, so if you are sensitive to noise and heat, this wouldn't be a good choice. (Small, single) Room was clean, and limited amenities, and a coffee tray were provided. Lift wasn't working during my stay= carrying luggage up […] to 3rd floor was a challenge. Breakfast was basic. Despite asking for a room not on the street, and arriving early (reiterating my request), I wasn't accommodated. However, after much pleading, they found an alternate room and were even able to provide a fan (so I got lucky). In summary, had I known how loud it would be, I wouldn't have booked here, but other than that, it was acceptable (as long as the lift works). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Friendly hotel with a bed spring problem"
I found the staff helpful. I arrived early and they let me check in early. The hotel is very upfront about being potentially noisy, and it was pretty loud. Music from next door venue was audible until about midnight and other guests pretty loud in the corridors in the early hours as they came back from pubs and cclubs. Bathroom good. Breakfast buffet […] fine. Staff friendly and helpful. Location and distance to sights, fabulous. My main problem was with a very uncomfortable bed which was all spring and no mattress. I had to sleep on top of the duvet to try and pad it out. I can sleep in most beds, but this one nearly defeated me. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
