Great location just off the freeway. We had a very quiet non-smoking room on the backside. The room was very clean and well kept. TV signal was grainy but we weren't there to watch TV. Convenient to Monterey, Prunedale and the rodeo grounds. Dining options are unlimited. You name it and it's close by. This will be my first choice next time I'm in the area.

It is a motel, as the display board suggests. Clean, very close to a main freeway (California 101), convenience stores and restaurants. The reception is efficient. We took two rooms for a 4-person party. One room had a curious arrangement; the coffee maker was in the bathroom, which allows for three things to be done ad once: shave, have coffee and take care of other incidental business. All in all - money well spent and not a lot of it to boot. j.s.

The Laurel Inn Motel is located in Salinas about 25 miles from Monterey which was a little inconvenient but not terrible. The hotel was extremely clean and well kept. It's obvious that there has been recent renovations which made the motel even more of a pleasant suprise. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The restaraunt in the parking lot is one of the best in the area. Make sure you are hungry as the portions are huge. I would recommend to anyone!

I have no major complaints about this hotel. We had a room that was close to the freeway and during the busy times, the noise was a bit much. Getting a room closer to the office might be better, but not sure. Two of the electrical outlets in the room didn't work. I thought it was my equipment that didn't work, so that was somewhat frustrating. It was very clean, comfortable and the staff was very helpful. I would defintely stay here again.

I came down for my grandfather's memorial. Most of my family stayed at a nearby hotel. They paid more than twice our rate. At the Laurel Inn, we had everything we needed for a cofortable 4 night stay. It was very clean (which is most important). The beds were a little hard for my taste but comfortable enough for a good nights sleep. There was a little bit of a musty smell in the room that we noticed upon entering, but all in all-- we will be staying here again next time we come to visit grandma!

I was very surprised at what I got for the price: a large room with a mini-fridge, and friendly people at the check-in counter. I had a room with one king bed that was comfortable. I really liked how the bathroom area was a little set off from the rest of the room. Everything looked clean and well cared for As others have noted, the heater was a bit loud, but it didn't keep me awake. There was a window for light during the day, but at night the lights in the room weren't quite bright enough for my taste. I didn't try the pool or hot tub. I really wished they served some sort of breakfast and that they'd had some sort of exercise room. Finally, the hotel is situated just off 101 near all the big box/chain stores and restaurants, so it doesn't have any character, but if you do an internet search for local restaurants, you'll find some in the area. Overall, a great place to stay if you're looking for something simple, clean, and cheap.

Unless you plan to spend time in the room -it's a perfectly nice place to sleep. The room was clean and odor free. The bed was . . . a bed. I slept just fine. I was there for one night. I spent (not counting sleeping) maybe an hour in the room. If you're looking for a place to spend the day (why?) it had a pool. But if you're in this area why would you stay at the hotel? Exactly! You're out enjoying the Central Coast. I would stay here again in a heartbeat - and the price was right, extremely reasonable in comparison to other venues in the area. All in all I recomend it to anyone looking for a place to sleep.

Easy access, and convenient location to everything, without being in a noisy place. As much as Salinas has a bad reputation, the neighborhood is fine. Very efficient lobby service, and what a speedy PC they have ther for public use! Clean spacious rooms, simple decor, no funny smells!!! and they also have a pretty swimmingpool and sauna. Planning for breakfast too, in the upcoming future, renovations are on in March 09. Attached diner closed a bit too early (10pm), but that's not the hotel's doing. And you can't beat the Hotels.com rates!

My Mother and Aunt suggested we make our reservations at the Laurel Inn. I didn't realize until we were almost there that it was a "Motel". I've alway associated a motel with single story, dark, outside entrances and kind of spooky. They assured me it was very nice. I was very impressed!. The Laurel Inn Motel is very well kept, well lighted and very clean. You are able to park right outside your room and the office is well lit and inviting. There is a pool and a "Black Bear Restaurant" right across the parking lot. (The Food is Great!!) They were very friendly and accommodating. We needed extra towels and were given them immediately. I will certainly stay there again when we visit. The price was Great! The only suggestion I would offer is, the shower curtains seem to be made of a fabric of some kind that did not appear to be waterproof. I put the inside curtain in the tub, but the water from the showerhead soaked thru both the inside and outside curtains and quite a bit of water dripped on the floor. Didn't understand that concept. Maybe I did something wrong? Anyway, Great Motel, Great stay!!

Then of course I worried about what chemical killed the ants too.... I was in a rush and there was no way that I would have had time to change rooms and also make my appointment.
