Great location easy walking distance to everything. Fab breakfast best I've had in CA HEALTHY....Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Love the location easy access to Stat St, Warf, et"
The basic room is extremely small. We were upgraded to a nicer size due to A/C not working....hottest day of the year. I would not book the basic again due to the miniscule size....if you do not want to pay more, go to another place as the basic is NOT a good value for the money spent and 2 nights would be impossible in that tight space.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"beautiful hotel, close to everything yet quiet."
The hotel was a wonderful surprise. Beautifully renovated in Spanish style.Since it was our first visit to Santa Barbara, the staff was extremely helpful. The breakfast included in the room rate was not your typical continental breakfast. Each day a new selection was offered which was very tasty. The pier, State Street and the wine tasting area were […] all within walking distance as well as the Amtrak station. We will definitely return to the Eagle Inn! We adore staying in a B$B, but we were so disappointed in the Eagle Inn. The lobby is nice and the attendant pleasant, but that is all I can say positive about the hotel. Our room was so small two people could not walk around it without bumping into each other. I would not take off my shoes because the carpet was dirty and smelled of stinky feet. The […] bathroom was tiny, old and had what looked like mold on the ceiling. I decided it was better to put on more deodorant than take a shower in the tub. For what we paid for one night I had expected a lot better quality. I guess we paid for location, not quality. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The Eagle Inn was "The Best" ! A great location a very easy walk from the Amtrack. I rode a provided bike to suggested restuarants, shopping on State Street, the mission, and museum of natural history. All recomendations from the hotel staff. I loved this Inn. Fun!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't miss this!"
This hotel was absolutely charming, very much appropriate to Santa Barbara. Throughout, there was much attention paid to detail in this missions-style hotel. If you get an opportunity to stay in this lovely resort town, don't miss this hidden gem! My husband wanted me to celebrate my one-year cancer free anniversary and this hotel helped to make a most […] memorable celebration! We stayed in one of the rooms annexed to the main hotel (Santa Maria, I think?), which had a private balcony where we enjoyed our room-serviced breakfast overlooking an interesting walkway filled with bougainvillea and an orange tree! The room itself was filled with mission style furniture, lots of windows, a sitting room with a fireplace and jacuzzi tub, that they adorned with red rose petals laid out in the shape of a heart in the tub. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever experienced in a hotel. The pillows were wonderful and the sheets--don't know what they were except they had to be high thread count--just like velvet on your skin! All around, this is a stay you don't want to miss when traveling to SB!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quaint hotel, perfect location"
The hotel has a pleasant staff, enjoyable complimentary breakfast, excellent location. The room was small, the pillows were tiny and not enough of them. Because the room was small, there were not enough comfortable seating areas for more than one person. However, since we were out of the room most of the time, not too much of a problem. I think the […] room was meant for one person but because we booked late, we got this tiny room. Being that small, the price was a bit more than it should have been in my opinion. However, we were happy to find an availability at the last minute in a nice hotel near the Amtrak station. Great location and easy walk to everywhere. The complimentary breakfast had healthful options. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great find close to Santa Barbara Pier"
This is a great location, quiet not being right on the beach but only a block from the beach in one direction and a couple of blocks from the famous Fig Tree in the other direction. Room was a little small but comfortable and very clean. Staff was great although there was a small issue when we returned from dinner and the parking lot was full. Front […] desk was closed and the answering service did not have instructions for us (Street parking is restricted). Finally got an answer after a few calls to use handicap space until morning. When I mentioned this issue to the front desk in the morning they were going to start leaving instructions for other guests in the future. Breakfast on the patio was included and was fantastic! "Great Place to Stay"
This hotel is really cute. It's close to the action (within walking distance of shuttles (25-cents) to anywhere you'd go as well as restaurants on the water), clean, comfortable, and friendly. My one complaint about the rooms is that they are not noise-proofed. We were on the main hallway on the first floor and could hear breakfast dishes clinking in […] the morning as well as traffic noise outside; the volume wasn't terrible, but it was noticeable. On the plus side, breakfast was above and beyond my expectations; it was table service with self-serve hot beverages, limited (but delicious and hearty) choices. I highly recommend the Eagle Inn, even if it's not quite perfect. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Even though they have a parking lot it was difficult to park. There appeared to be a space for every guest but it was obvious that the place was being used by non guests. The staff didn't appear to care or want to help and street parking is restricted. Breakfast was fruit and scrambled egg in a tomato. Basically 1 egg/ tomato between 2 adults. gave […] us enough energy to get to another place for breakfast. "Great hotel to consider"
My girlfriend and I spent two nights at The Eagle Inn and I can honestly say that there isn't anything negative about the place. Cute Santa Barbara style inn set back from any busy streets. Great location if you want to walk to beaches, Stearn's Wharf, State St., a corner market for groceries, restaurants, and even a couple of neighborhood watering holes. Their parking lot is a bit small so if you return late at night, you may have to park on the street in the neighborhood. Staff […] was so kind and friendly! The inn was pretty quiet. "Felt like home"
I used to live just down the street from this hotel. Staying here made me feel like I was home again. If you want to experience Santa Barbara the way a local would, then stay here. You can walk to almost any attraction in the city from here. If it is a busy weekend, just park in the free parking provided by the hotel and take the 50 cent shuttle or […] walk to downtown. Also, if you happen to take Amtrak, like many people do who travel here, this hotel is about 4 blocks from the station. Other reviewers have commented on the train noise. It is really not loud and you will hardly notice it. There are million dollar mansions in Santa Barbara that are next to the train tracks. The train is an integral part of the City and runs through the middle of town. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Love it!!! Just be sure to confirm check in time as hotels.com has it at 2pm and the inn said it was 3pm. So we arrived too early to check in. "Spanish style Inn w/ breakfast."
This vintage Inn is well located 2 blocks up from the beach in a quiet area of town which is mostly residential or other Inns and B&B s. The building itself, (Or more accurately the buildings and grounds), are so charming, that I snapped a photo of the front of the hotel to share with my family back home. My room (Room #102) on the ground floor of the […] main building was directly off the small spanish tiled lobby, and near the breakfast room. The wooden staircase from the 2nd floor above, was just on the opposite side of my wall, so I did hear some noise of other guests coming down to breakfast in the morning. This did not bother me, as I had to be up by 8:00 am anyway, but if you want to sleep in, I suggest a room farther from the front lobby. The included breakfast is served in a small 10 table breakfast room which is very pleasant. The friendly waitress brings coffee, orange juice and a bowl of fresh fruit and then offers you the two choices of the day. During my stay, the 2 choices for breakfast were 1. A frittata with toast or, 2. Fresh yogurt with granola. Both were excellent. The front desk staff was very helpful with local activity suggestions and maps. There are not many restaurants within walking distance of this hotel as most restaurants and shopping are located on State Street. This hotel was very clean and has an abundance of charm. It is a vintage building with the creaks and noises of an older building, but it is the perfect style of building to really feel that you are in Santa Barbara. I have stayed a few times at the Eagle Inn while in the Santa Barbara area. I have looked in to other places in the area and found The Eagle Inn to be the best Hotel/Inn for me. The Inn is clean, comfortable, staff is friendly and helpful. The Inn is conveniently located within walking distance of State Street and the harbor. Breakfast is included and […] out weighs the "continental" breakfasts served in other hotels/inns. Bicycles are available for use for free. Rates are comparable to other places in the area but what you get is much better than what I have looked in to. As with other Inns and hotels in the area, prices go up on weekends and "high season." You can go on to their website and look for "last minute" special rates. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice property but not well run"
This is kind of interesting for me because normally I leave comment cards for the types of things I will be discussing here. However, in something that was symbolic of the visit, when I asked for a comment card on departure the staff member at the desk first didn't know what that was "A comet card?", and then said they didn't have them and most people […] just write on Trip Advisor. So here I am. Doesn't seem very smart to me. The hotel is a nice property, but the rooms are pretty expensive for what you get. We only stayed there because it was one of the few places that was available on graduation weekend for UCSB. Anyway here are some specific comments, perhaps management will read them. 1) Desk staff needs additional training. When I was checking in with a prepaid room I had to explain this to the desk clerk as she couldn't figure out why the system wouldn't take my credit card. (I guess it isn't programmed for a zero balance.) Again when I was checking out I had to explain to a different clerk that the room was prepaid. Also they gave me the wrong WIFI key multiple times before they realized what their actual zipcode (the key) was when I pointed it out to them on their note pad. They were friendly, just not well trained. 2) The place has a vaguely disinfectant smell, which kind of reminded me of a motel 6 in the 80's. They need to look into what kind of cleaning products they are using as the rooms are actually fairly nice, but that smell just gives the wrong impression. 3) The have decided to be clever at breakfast and offer two special items each day rather than just offering the standard things that most people eat. On our day it was a kind of small quiche with store bought raisin bread, or yogurt with granola. (They did offer a nice fruit plate with that.) Kind of a funny response when I asked if they had bagels the woman working there said that Sunday was the day for bagels. Not much help to me since I was there on Saturday. 4) The kitchen staff was chatter Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location but not really a B&B"
Hotel in a very good location - walking distance to beach, State St., municipal pool and Amtrak train station. Hotel in characteristic Santa Barbara neighborhood - very charming. Called a B&B but really should be called a motel or maybe hotel. Breakfast was poor in selection and presentation. We didn't even bother. Late check-in as described and convenient. […] Quite surprised to find only a shower in the room, no bathtub. Re-examined hotel's Website to see if there was a description of shower-only rooms because I wouldn't have booked one. No indication at all. Next day requested a bathtub room and got it but had to pay an extra charge per night for "upgrade". Both rooms were clean and spacious but very stuffy. Luckily we could get fresh air from open window/sliding door. Then, the issue was noise. Freeway noise from east room, street noise from west room.
