The hotel is in a cleaner area of Osaka. It's connected to a path and bridge that leads right to a train station. The Osaka castle is a good walk away, but still close by. There are several shops, malls, and quick places to eat nearby. During my stay, they were getting ready for a bridal event right at their hotel. I even saw many families there prepared for weddings in the hotel. So this should hopefully express how nice the hotel is. The staff was very nice and helpful. There was one moment I felt they were getting somewhat rude, but it was just once and very brief. The rest of their actions certainly outweigh that moment as well.

Hotel was clean. Close to shopping area (malls, groceries, outlets). About a five minute walk to local JR station. Beds are a little firm. Everything is connected by bridges. FYI outlet malls are cheaper than the mall next door for the same thing, good quality as well. If you go under the subway station there are eateries. Mostly everything closes at 9pm though. Hotel is good as a main base, if you were to go to other cities like Nara, Kobe, Kyoto, Hiroshima. Only problem is, you have to change 2 subways to get to Shin-osaka station, where you can ride the bullet trains to these cities. Not much to do there though except shop and eat. Great for business people, close to business companies. Hotel staff were friendly, but only a few staff spoke and understood English well, but helpful nonetheless. Overall the stay was average/good.

This was a great hotel not too far from the Osaka Castle. The room was clean and pretty big for Japan. If you walk across the bridge you will be at the subway station and the JR lines. Use the Osaka loop line to get anywhere. Just ask the front desk for directions to anything. The hotel elevators were really far from our room, however that is the only con I can think of.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. Should easily be rated 4-star. We had 2 rooms for each of 2 different legs of our visit to Japan. Overall excellent service - excellent clean, fresh, well stocked rooms with good views, and , initially unbeknownst to us, excellent location. Funny thing is the first 2 days we took a taxi from the train station across the river to the hotel. We later understood the confused look on the non-English speaking taxi drivers faces...turns out there's an enclosed walkway from the train station directly to the hotel (as well as restaurants, the mall, tech buildings, grocery, and rail station)...no taxi required (LOL)- super location! The staff at the hotel was accommodating throughout our stay with timely room make ups, and, they even opened the restaurant so that we could dine in the restaurant (rather than room service) upon our late arrival. Also, excellent effort providing English speakers to clarify directions, check-in/check-out, laundry, and they were able to hold bulk of our luggage for the week between our stays while we traveled off to Tokyo. Overall Outstanding experience & highly reccommend the Hotel Monterey La Soeur Osaka - would stay there again!
