We stayed at Solage for our 10 year anniversary and couldn't have asked for more. You are also close to tons of great wineries which makes it that much better of a location. The room was comfortable and great. You have your own bungalow with patio and was very private. The grounds were in great shape and the resort has all you need - pool, bocce courts […] and great staff. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and then had a fantastic dinner at Solbar. Each room also comes with 2 bicycles which we rode into downtown Calistoga the next morning for breakfast and to enjoy the town. We'd definitely recommend Solage for anyone looking for a great getaway. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I would give it 5 stars but the massage was just ok. The spa is amazing and the customer service incomparable. Loved it!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Solage- Beautiful but pretentious"
Solage is a unique property just on the outskirts of Calistoga. The property is very well maintained, the rooms are spacious and elegantly appointed (with the best hotel-TV ever). There were several kind and helpful employees. The food and service at SolBar were fantastic. However, I never felt like a welcome guest; too many of the front desk staff […] came off as pretentious and less than helpful. For such an expensive resort, I should not be leaving with the thought, "Nah, don't think I'll be back." When I return to the Napa Valley, I'll stay in the much more central town of Yountville. Lovely location, great cottages, wonderful location amenities. The one area I believe needs refining is service. I think what happened at Solage takes place at most locations in the wine region. It's the end of the season, and wait staff is fried. This was the case on our stay. We had to ask multiple times for attention, and service. All staff were […] very polite, but at that caliber of resort, you shouldn't have to ask for basics like having a food order taken, additional water, cocktails,or plates when splitting dishes. "Room for improvement but great place"
Hotel is in great shape, property is beautiful, amenities are useful and well thought out. We were disappointed with the level of service the staff provided and they could have used some more training. Pool service was subpar-places like this are known for the pool bars and services but this time the staff was inattentive and inexperienced. Were told […] a Spa Menu wasn't available at the front desk?? are you kidding me? Finally booked our treatments through the spa, which were amazing. But even the spa staff seemed inexperienced saying that we had to be in the waiting area when our appointments were ready, not that they would come and get us out of the pools, subpar service in my opinion. Dinner was good but again the staff were inattentive and slow. I'd definitely visit the spa again, but would think twice about staying here with all the other great places in the valley. For the price, they need the customer service dialed in better. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Was expecting more…."
For $800+ a night I was expecting fully functional wi-fi…. could not access the internet at the pool. The rooms are nice but should be nicer; beds were a bit hard, and our bungalow was close to the major road so there was some traffic noise. The pool water didn't seem to be natural mineral water as I believe was to be the case. However, the staff were […] friendly and the food was excellent. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Extremely overpriced and inconsistent"
Nice reception staff. Nice room but small for $800 a night. When we got to our room we found used glassware and empty beer bottles on the patio. Yuck. Had reservations for dinner at Solbar. We were stuck at a small table next to the waiter's computer station and door to patio with no view. Even though we had reservations we were told all other tables […] were reserved. Our dinner lasted 2 hours and none of the other tables were ever sat with parties. In fact, there were over 21 tables completely open all night. The hostesses seemed like teenagers and had major attitude. They just rolled their eyes when we asked if we could get a different table. Not professional. Our waiter at breakfast the next morning finally got around to bringing our coffee and orange juice after we were done with our meal and had received our check, even though we asked for it at least 10 times. The hotel has a nice pool and provides bikes to use but the spa which we spent 2 days at and spent over $2000 on was like a gym locker room. It had 3 showers so there was a line out the door for people waiting to use them. Overall it was o.k. but more in line with a price of $300 a night, not $800. They are remodeling the spa and restaurant, which is good, but in the meantime they should not be charging what they are. Stay somewhere else for a few years until they finish the remodels. "Beautiful facility; clean modern rooms"
The rooms are very large, modern and well maintained. The bathroom is simply huge. Pretty landscaping. Each room has a nice patio outside. It makes for a relaxing and romantic atmosphere and offers a great launching point for trips in the wine country. It was nice to see a variety of group exercise classes and yoga classes that are offered.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Stay for a Few Days"
Traveling with friends for a wedding. The "studio" was spacious, new, clean, well lit, with adequate storage and lovely private outdoor seating area. The greeters at reception, the receptionists, indeed, all the help were pleasant, competent, and eager to please. The grounds were immaculate. The only meal I had was breakfast which was interesting and […] delicious if high end hotel pricey. The spa pools were very comfortable and nicely warm. The girlfriend reported that her massage was the best she's ever had (and she's had plenty). Altogether, a nice place to stay for a few days. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My wife and I attended an event at a winery and made late minute plans. We were fortunate to secure a booking, arriving Friday evening. The reception staff was professional. Our studio was near the edge of the property and the only negative was road noise from Silverado Trail traffic. The decor was elegant and modern; the patio relaxing and the bathing […] area plush (the shower was luxe). We took advantage of the great workout facilities, the cruiser bikes, the pool and the excellent SolBar restaurant. We did not have time for the Spa but it looked great. "Fourth visit, each time as wonderful as the last!"
Can't fault this place, we love it! This was our fourth visit and there was still nothing to complain about. The cottages are spread out across the resort, so just know that, depending where you are situated, you might need to walk a few hundred yards to the restaurant/pool/spa or ride a (wobbly) bike. Having said that, the valet guys are so nice that […] they will run you around in a golf cart if asked! Very cool decor, spacious comfortable rooms with patio and a huge adults only pool, all set in the most incredible, natural surroundings. FYI, there is a smaller pool for the kids. Fabulous Michelin-starred restaurant, with inside and outside dining, a great bar with separate menu options and some of the nicest staff I've ever come across, from the valets to the restaurant staff and the maids. We've stayed in both the levels of accommodation, and the only difference was one had a gas fire and a bath tub and one had no fire and a bench where the bathtub would go. Spacewise, almost the same and actually the cheaper one, without the tub, had a nicer vista from the patio. Personally I love that it's less a family resort (so not many shrieking kids) and more geared to adults, just because of the high level of facilities. Of course it's not cheap but in this place, you definitely get what you pay for. Just got back yesterday and already pining for next year's visit. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I can't describe how good the two nights we stayed there were. The staff from the moment we arrived was extremely friendly and helpful. "Solage Calistoga, CA"
Solage Resort and Spa is all about comfort and class and upscale accommodations. it is nestled in beautiful Napa Valley so I would suggest stopping at your favorite winery on the way and pick out some lovely cheeses and breads and spreads and several bottles of wine for your stay. the accommodations are so beautiful and comfortable and private that […] you will find yourself in one of their luxurious bathrobes the entire stay (except dinner of course) whether walking the gated community or spending the days at the spa and pool. We packed for a vacation and had a small bag of dirty laundry in the end. The staff are so courteous, respectful, and kind, you will be part of their family before it is over. They have a premier , renound chef for their elegant restaurant with 5 course dinner that is 5 star all the way. Please show them respect and bring a tux and gown , at least a suite and tie, this is your time to show off a bit and do it with class. This is amazing, they have 2 Mercedes covertibles and one Mercedes SUV as well as a luxury sedan which are complementary during your stay if you wish to go off site. That is class ! "Not well layer out"
We did not not like the lay out or the spa, there was no water pressure and the spa was to spread out! We like to travel and we love to go to the different spas, this was a disappointment and way over priced for what they offer! The food at the restaurant, was very good!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful hotel, excellent restaurant (Solbar)"
Great staff - only tip would be to make sure you book dinner reservations at Solbar in advance of your stay since dinner is frequently booked up. We ate at Brannan's downtown for dinner since there weren't any tables available at Solbar for dinner, and dinner at Brannan's was fantastic, but it would have been nice to eat dinner at Solbar. We did eat […] breakfast at Solbar and it was perfect. French press coffee, fresh orange and grapefruit juice, delicious made-to-order warm cinnamon-sugar donut holes went very well with our Eggs Benedict (washington mountain style with a fresh buttermilk biscuit instead of an English Muffin) and the Sol-pes which we delightful. Although the resort is lovely, I stayed there for 7 nights and tried to make a reservation in the dining room each night I was there with no success. We've visited Solage once or twice per year for the past few years and it's always fantastic. Whether it's a boozy, busy August weekend with friends or a quiet, bike riding get-a-way with family in December the setting and service at Solage provide the perfect hideaway or launching pad. Check-in is smooth, the staff friendly and they remember you. […] A bottle of wine came over as a thank you for our return visit. The grounds are well maintained and filled with mossy oak and lavender. The restaurant and bar are well respected and beautiful. The outdoor area is outstanding and in high demand on a warm evening or bright morning. Two well laid out pools exist. One for the adults seeking optimal sun with a quiet cocktail being served by smiling staff...and no splashing. And one for the kiddies, which is far enough away as to not disturb the other ;) Each guest has a cottage. Nicely, appointed with a modern look, large comfy bed, large well lit bathroom, deep soaking tub and stone walk-in shower. Some cottages have more space around them than others but we've never been bother by the neighboring guests. (Note: couples without children should request a cottage away from the separate children's pool) Each cottage is provided two bicycles which is kind if the icing in the cake for us. Biking into town for dinner, up the road to Vincent Arroyo, down the road past Sterling or anywhere else at the north end of the valley is almost too idyllic. There are maybe 5 resorts at this level in the whole of Napa Valley, one might have more tennis courts, one might have a better view, one might be closer to SFO but none has put it all together as well as Solage has managed to do it. "Great Comfort in Style"
We spent a great time at the Solage over the weekend in Napa. It is a well laid out resort, where the rooms have a lot of privacy and are spacious. The restaurant food was fantastic and they offer a very wide range of services and activities, including bicycles and convertible cars that are available for use. Extremely relaxed atmosphere to enjoy some down time with my sister. The property is beautiful, the spa is fantastic, the pool is well-kept and the pool bar service is good. "Our 25th Anniversary"
Our cottage was elegant, immaculate, well stocked with toiletries. The King bed was very comfortable, the fireplace and large flat screen TV added options for ambience. We loved being able to open the large sliding glass doors that went out onto our private outdoor patio area. The Mercedes Benz E-class they let us use, was a fun option at no extra cost. […] We took it 2 days in a row for 4 hours each day and enjoyed driving that instead of our boring rental car. The staff was so courteous, helpful. The ladies who gave us our couples massage were professional and were quite skilled at their craft. We also enjoyed riding our cruiser bikes into Calistoga, parking them and having breakfast in town. "Nice Resort/Spa in Calistoga"
Till now, I have only stayed at Auberge du Soleil and Calistoga Ranch in the Napa area. Those two resorts were, needless to say, in a class of their own and leave nothing to be desired. On this trip, I had my one of my adult children travelling with me, which would have made staying at those two resorts prohibitively expensive because it would have […] required two suites at the two resorts. So I started searching around, found Solage in Calistoga, and decided to give it a shot. At Solage, I was able to accomodate three adults on two queen beds in one suite. I am so glad I did. Solage had everything I needed: a convenient location, nicely appointed bedrooms and bathrooms, a nice terrace, great pool(s) and hot tub(s), gym, and other amenities. The restaurant serves very good food. Service at the resort was very attentive. I will definitely return on my next trip to Napa. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We very much enjoyed our stay. The resort is very attractive and comfortable. Minor problems: the web site seems to imply that every room has a DVD player, which is not the case; and the business office sent a fax for us, which never went through, but we were never informed that it had not. We would recommend Solage wholeheartedly.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Solage-- a great place stay when in Napa Valley"
This place is excellent. I wish I could have stayed longer, but while we were there we were treated like royalty. The rooms are all these mini bungalows that have amazing views of the hills surrounding the Valley. We left campus to dine at Auberge Du Soleil, which was just ok, and I'm disappointed we didn't eat at the reataurant at Solage as the next […] day my breakfast was amazing, and I never say that about breakfast. We didn't get massages or anything, but we did enjoy the thermal pools, the hot tub and the steam rooms so upon leaving I was relaxed and rested. I will stay there again.
