The Westin was perfect! Stayed in a suite with friends for a weekend away. The hotel was clean and the service was great. The location is perfect for walking and dining in the old port and totally accessible if you want to spend time downtown or further North. No complaints!

We only stayed the one night at Place d'Armes hotel, on our way back to Vancouver and then home, but we wished we had more time, and will return. The hotel staff were both welcoming and efficient (not a combination one often finds), and the hotel itself was immaculate in every respect. The room was flawless in its design, the bed was soft enough to be comfortable, but not so soft as to feel like one is clambering from a bean-bag, upon rising, (as I found in so many hotels in the States!) I particularly appreciated that the designers had eschewed a bath/shower combination in the large bathroom, and installed a large, stone-clad, walk-in shower with a beautiful glass shower screen, instead. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Old Town Montreal by foot, which was just what we wanted to do, since we only had the one night. When we checked out, we left our luggage with Place D'Armes, mentioned when we would return for our flight and, when we did, a taxi was already awaiting us. Immaculate service.

"Hotel Elegante'"
The Hotel was nice enough,they stated it was non-smoking,smelled of smoke! We were on second floor and people above us were noisy.Music from a couple blocks over went on until wee hours of morning.Parking was next to impossible.

Great location. I've stayed at many hotels in Montreal, mostly 4 and 5 star hotels.This place was perfect for my recent visit. Clean and comfortable, quiet. Great place. Would not hesitate to return.

"Hotel Elegant - Montreal CA - close to transportat"
No room controls for air conditioning. Extremely cold. Bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The back parking lot of the building sounded like a construction zone. There were multiple people using very loud language through all hours of the night. The last night there there were a number of vehicles parking very late with headlights shining in throgh […] the window. Would not stay there again. I spoke to the desk about the cold air conditioning and the manager told me he could do nothing about it and that maybe I could open the window. Due to all of the noise/activity in the back I was afraid to open the window. Can't beat the convenience of the location but would look for a much quieter place next time. Thank you for your time. "Good Location and Value"
My room was large, comfortable and quiet. I parked my car for free on the street in front for five days. The location allows an easy walk to the subway, the bistros on R St Denis, the stores on Ste Catherine, and the attractions in the old port.

"Affordable"
If you are looking for an affordable option that is close to major attractions this may be an option for you. It is an older hotel, but was clean.
"Great location, reasonable hotel"
Super location. 3 minutes to central bus/metro station. By metro just minutes to Old Town and restaurants. Hotel and room in good order. Seemed safe. A/C worked fine - just have to know that the vents are opened by rotating center baffle. Would definitely do it again.
"Decent Local Hotel"
We chose this hotel both because of its price and locative relative to the event we were traveling to Montreal for (Kinetik Festival @ Usine C). I was apprehensive about our stay based on some reviews I'd read online about the hotel and the surrounding area. But, I was very pleased to find my worries relieved after just a short time at the hotel and […] walking around the neighborhood. The neighborhood reminds me quite of bit of San Francisco and it very pedestrian and bike friendly (including close access to Montreals bike rental system), and relatively close to downtown (we walked, but it was a bit of a journey). Other all the room was small, but clean and really quiet. The beds were hard, but I actually found that to be pretty comfortable. The front door to the hotel requires you to be buzzed in by the desk clerk who is at the desk 24/7. Every one of them I encountered was very friendly and I never had to wait for than a few seconds to get buzzed in, even very late at night. All in all a great value for people traveling to Kinetik Festival or other events in the mid town area of Montreal! We'll be booking here again next year if Kinetik stays at Usine C. Read more
"a bargain but with compromises"
the first thing to mention is, that the personel at front desk was extremly rough. the breakfast was very poor. it contains a cold croissant OR one muffin (which wasn't available) per person. the guy from the reception controlled if you really take just one (don't want to know what happens if you would take a second one...). the neighborhood was so-so. […] it's located near to st. catherine, but there are also a lot of beggars nearby. the last thing i have to complain about is, that the homepage of the hotels says, that parking is included. it is NOT. wheter you have to pay 8 $ if you want to use the parking lot of the hotel or you can leave you car on the street (which i wouldn't reccomend, because i think, that it isn't really a save neighborhoor and there are a lot of tow away zones by the way) Read more

We needed a cheap, central Montreal hotel, and this one fit the bill. Rooms are old and loud, but clean and comfortable. Parking is off-site and costs CAD 8, though a few on-street spots exist. The street itself is shoddy, but it is very near a lot of great restaurants, many Metro stations, and good walking. Our main complaint was the laughably bad […] service, ranging from the surly desk attendant, to the unwillingness to make early coffee (in spite of their earlier promise to do so), and the rude treatment of a friend who called to leave a message late at night. "Hotel Elegant"
We were disappointed with the room because we could smell smoke and also we could hear conversations through the walls with the people who were staying there. Also the continental breakfast was so minimal. There were a few croisants and some frozen/stale muffins, not even butter for the croisants. There was a toaster but no bread.

Unfortunately we stayed at the hotel when some guest decided to putll the fire alarm several times during the early morning. This meant that we did not get any sleep from about 4:00 am on. We arrived at 1:30 and were given a room that was being made up when others were available. There was a plumbing problem in the wall with the sound of water gushing, at first we thought this was someone upstairs having a shower, upon our return later that evening it was so loud we could not sleep and reported it to the front desk, he switched us rooms […] at 2am in the morning. Needless to say we did not sleep much. Breakfast, none left when we arrived and we did arrive before cut off time. Upon check out we advised the desk manager, he was not willing to listen but finally went upstairs to check, said it was someone having a shower but know one was above us and the problem was constant. After much protesting he decided to refund us 25.00 which was not adequate for what we went through. Not a very good first experience. Room 204 I suggest this problem be fixed before they assign someone else the same room. Read more
"Dated, but clean and comfortable"
Stayed at the Hotel Elegant during the 2011 F1 Grand Prix. Prices were jacked up as they were everywhere else. If you're not into to making a fashion statement, this hotel was clean, had a comfortable bed, free WiFi, free continental breakfast, a grocery store half a block away, and close proximity to downtown and the Metro. "OK budget accomodation"
Bare-bones budget hotel close to where we needed to be. Dated decor, TV up on top of a closet where it was almost unwatchable, bathroom looked like it had be redone somewhat recently. Plastic bag over the smoke detector and washcloth over one of the fire sprinklers would probably be an indication of a fire hazard or other tampering with safety devices, […] something the Fire Marshall should probably look into. cet hôtel a soit disant le WI FI ... il a fallut qu'ils nous prêtent un câble réseau, et ils en avaient des cartons pleins donc ils savaient très bien que cela ne marchait pas !! Les deux premières nuit passées dans une chambre au sous-sol, on avait l'impression de dormir dans un cendrier, nous avons exigé de changer et la miracle! chambre en étage, […] grande et avec balcon !! avec climatisation mais toute la nuit sur nous et surtout glaciale, réglable uniquement à l'accueil et pour l'étage en entier.. moderne quoi !!! Das generell recht saubere Hotel entpuppt sich bei näherem Hinsehen als unzumutbare Unterkunft. Die Matratzen sind verdreckt, alt und knarzen bei der kleinsten Bewegung (dies wurde uns auch von anderen Gästen beim Morgensnack bestätigt - Frühstück sollte man ein Croissant aus der Großpackung nicht nennen). Hotel bien situé 20 minutes à pied du centre. Parking (certes payant) mais en face et prix raisonnable. Personnel parle peu le français. Plutôt pour des jeunes couples, bande d'amis.

"Verkehrsgünstige Lage"
Wenn man keine Ansprüche an Komfort stellt, kann man dieses Hotel buchen. Die Zimmer waren sauber und ordentlich. Der Frühstücksraum war eine Abstellkammer. Gute Verkehrsanbindung. Nur zum Schlafen reicht es. Ansonsten nicht empfehlenswert.

Cela s'est bien passée, les tarifs n'ont pas changés. Par contre les chambres ne sont pas du tout insonorisé! ex : Clients rentrent à 4 H du matin avec bruits, portes qui claquent. Ou encore on entendait la TV tous les soirs des voisins. et aussi le petit déj qui n'était pas accueillant. L'emplacement de l'hotel est bien situé.
