It's location is very handy for the Subway, which is the No 1 line on W 28th. I would definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone.

Me and my wife were plesently surprised with this hotel as it is advertised as a 3 star we didnt expect much but it certainly met our high expectations and the room felt like a uk 4 star. We were given a smoking room but a quick trip to reception rectified that the next day as the hotel was fully booked the night we arrived. Hotel is located 5 mins away from maddison Sq gdns and Macy's, so shopping is very nearby. Staff went out of their way to help us althought we never had any food as we were always eating out.

The Hilton Garden Inn in Chelsea. We went to New York to marry on New Year's Eve. The front desk, catering and porters were absolutely fantastic. They really looked after all of our guests with courtesy nothing was too much trouble for them. Even down to putting my dress in a separate room so that my fiancee would not see it before the big day. We have nothing but admiration for their patience. The only black spot was the treatment we recieved from a member of the management team when we had a problem with the loss of our belongings from our room. Unfortunately, this left our party with a bad taste after what has been a really wonderful experience. We all recommend the hotel but would suggest that a little more consideration from the house keeping management would make an enormous difference.

This hotel was a oasis in the mad desert that is New York. You think it's a mirage but it's real and so comfy. The staff were great and helpful, the room was immaculate and huge going by New York standards. I had a view of the Empire State building from my window. It's situated in a handy spot too, not to far from the hustle of 5th ave and a dander to Soho etc. I had breakfast every morning in the hotel, get everything you can eat as the staff suggested, it saves the hassle later and you can load up for some heavy shopping.

I stayed at this hotel with my daughter for a short sightseeing/shopping trip break to New York In Dec 07. We had a lovely room with 2 double beds - the most comfortable hotel beds we have ever had! The room was large enough to easily cope with 2 beds, we had a plasma TV, radio alarm clock, microwave, refridgerator, desk/chair and free internet access in the room. The room was kept very clean and the bathroom was immaculate. This hotel has a 24 hour pantry if you need it and breakfasts are approximately $14.95 per person. It is situated a short walk from 5th Ave and the Empire State Building and there are plenty of eating places around. We ate at 'Mustang Sally's' one night, this being the local restaurant that the hotel gets it's room service food from - we would recommend it as the food is well priced, delicious and there is a good atmosphere there. A good choice of hotel for a short break and situated in the flower shop area of New York. Hotel staff organised a taxi for us to JFK at the end of our holiday and were polite and attentive when required.

The staff and services were excellent, the hotel, which is quite new, was clean and the bed very comfortable. The location was convenient for us (an entrance for the #1 subway line in the same block)and an easy walk to Grand Central. Some guests commented negatively on the surrounding neighborhood. It is the wholesale flower district, not a tourist area, but interesting and very much real New York, and we encountered nothing unpleasant. The room was quiet (although on the second floor). The only qualification was the size of the room which accommodated a king size bed, a small desk, and a desk chair. Not a problem for us since we were only in the room at night, but if weather had kept us inside much, we would have felt the need for room for at least one other chair.

My husband and I chose this hotel for our third year wedding anniversary trip to New York city. We were pleasantly suprised by the size of our room and bathroom. I'm 5'9 and my husband is 6'4 and we had no problems moving around the room or even with both of us being in the bathroom at the same time. Our king size bed was extremely comfortable and the linens were very clean. Housekeeping was prompt and even when we requested to not be disturbed, they left fresh towels and bathroom products in a bag at our door. I had read reviews of other people being nervous about the neighborhood that the hotel stands in. We never felt threatened at all even walking down the street to the hotel at midnight. The in house restaraunt and room service were provided by a near by restaraunt and the food was fabulous. The coctails served at the in house bar were supurb. Best margaritta I have ever had. Another fantastic thing about this hotel is that 3 of the major subway lines that run throughout Manhattan all had local(always) stops on the street that the hotel is located. It was so easy to get to all the places we wanted to go by walking a few blocks to the subway stations. In all our experience at the Hilton Garden Inn in Chelsea was fabulous and we would recommend staying at this hotel to all our friends and family thinking of taking a trip to New York City.

The only negative - which isn't quite fair considering it is in Manhattan where everything is over priced - is the expense of it. For the price, it was a simple, not a very fancy, hotel - but much more importantly (in my opinion), both room and hotel were VERY clean and the staff were wonderful. It's in a good, convenient location as well.

The hotel itself was beautiful on the inside, especially the lobby. It is a very very well kept hotel and extremely clean. The bathroom was very nice, the bed in our room was literally the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in., hdtv, and overall condition of the room was so much better than I expected. The staff working at the desk weren't the nicest people, but were friendly in a business manner. When we tried to get into the hotel at about 2:30am and were stumbling threw our things to get the room key to open the front door a very friendly gentleman let us in.
