"First Time in Brooklyn"
I picked this place because it was a few blocks from my friends house. The hotel had good ratings and the pictures of the hotel looked interesting. The surrounding area was great; however, it didn't look like it at first. The hotel is only a few blocks away from the train station and many great restaurants. The room was great and unique. "A great choice in Brooklyn"
For the price, convenience of location, comfort and service, Hotel Le Bleu in Brooklyn's Park Slope neighborhood is hard to beat. In town to hear some music, we arrived on the Amtrak at Penn Station in Manhattan it was simple Subway ride on the F train from the 34th Street and Herald Square station to the 4th Ave. stop in Brooklyn. Hotel Le Bleu is […] a four black walk from the station. Upon check in Amanda at the front desk provided me with directions to the nearby restaurants located on 5th avenue. The room was much more spacious than you would usually find for a similar price or in Manhattan or considerably more. After settling in and using the free internet to pick a place for dinner before the show we were off and running. Fifth Avenue was close enough to walk or easily accessible by a quick cab ride and there was a great variety of places to choose from. We cabbed it back to the room to put some leftovers in the fridge before continuing on to the show which was about another four block walk from the hotel. The next day I had to travel to visit my aunt on the Brooklyn/Queens border, which again was easily accessible by subway. When we returned we decided on head down to the famous Pizza places by the Brooklyn Bridge again the front desk staff, this time Melissa helped us with our directions and called a cab for us. It was good given the price. The staff were friendly and the room was clean. It is in a really good location, just a block away from plenty of hip coffee shops and good restaurants. However, their were a few small problems. The shower door didn't close properly, which means that the floor got really wet. And then she turns around and ships the most expensive option for $80! Didn't even call me to reconfirm. No warning, nothing. "Very Nice Hotel But..."
I've been wanting to stay at this hotel for some time now, and I was really excited about the deal I caught for a summer stay. The hotel is very nice and so are the staff. The room was really nice, but I was one of the unfortunate ones that received a handi-cap bathroom where there is no separation on the floor to differentiate the bathroom floor from […] the shower floor. The bathroom was one large room with a curtain to block off the shower and a drain on the floor that didn't do well at preventing the water from spreading along the entire bathroom floor. We had to use towels to stop the water from seeping out of the bathroom. I was able to overlook the fact that I didn't get the type of bathroom I wanted because I did have a balcony facing the main street and parking lot. My biggest issue was when I pulled the covers back to get in the bed and saw a really large stain that appeared to be blood mixed with some type of oil. The sheets were washed, however should have been discarded since those types of stains rarely come out of materials. I called the front desk and they sent someone right away to change the sheets. He took pictures and said they will be sent to management. The woman at the front desk compensated me with free items from the minibar and also a discounted rate if I ever stayed again.
