Funky Old place. If you love Antiques, Collections of Teapots, Teddy bears, etc. this place will thrill you. Proprietor and Son were very nice. Breakfast was great. And the waterfalls out our window were delightful to listen to.

The room was fine, but overpriced. We paid $150 cuz we thought it would be nicer than a hotel chain. The food was not good. Biscuits and pancakes that seemed like they were from a Bisquick mix. Not something we would expect to get served in a B&B or a restaurant. The location is pretty.

Needed to find a good, reasonable place to stay for my sons hockey tournament in western mass. Didnt want to stay in a hockey hotel with parents and screaming kids. What a find the Old Mills is. It's a B&B for sure; quiet, clean, friendly, great breakfast in the AM..... couldn not have been more pleased.... A+++

We stayed at this B&B for a quick overnight during Thanksgiving weekend while visiting family in the area. The room was comfortable, bath room very clean with plenty of towels. The Old Mill is a very nice B&B in a fairly convenient location for us (visiting our daughter at Smith College about 6 miles away). The building is in need of some cosmetic repairs and our room could have used a more thorough dusting (window sills for example) but I would not call it unacceptable. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean […] and nicely appointed. Breakfasts, served by owner Ted, were quite satisfying - on our three days we had a fruit cup and fresh muffins every morning along with coffee, a variety of teas, and juice. One day we had a warm peach bread pudding, quiche on our second morning (choice of mushroom or ham), and an egg casserole on the third. While they bread pudding was a tad too sweet for my morning tastes, everything was delicious. And Ted was a pleasure to see every morning. Folks in the dining room interacted with each other and we got to know some very nice people on our three mornings. If you want a five star Ritz experience, go elsewhere. If you want quiet and comfort with a nice warm breakfast, the Old MIll will fit the bill. Read more

Also, we specifically asked what time breakfast was, and were told, "anytime", however when we arrived at 10:05 everything was put away and we were then told "oh, we end at 10:00" and weren't even offered a cup of coffee!! The owner was very accomodating regarding our extremely late arrival. We had a terrible time finding the Inn that first night but this was following a long long day and total darkness. Upon arrival, we started up the stairs to our room I was assaulted by many unpleasant odors. I dont' know what they were but I didn't like them. Breakfast is served from […] 8:30 - 9:30 daily, this is a little inconvenient but we accomodated. Most disturbing was the menu choice, there really isn't one. The first morning there was an egg dish, my husband doesn't eat eggs. Initially he was offered cereal as an option then the owner came out and offered a french toast which he loved. The second morning, there was only the french toast option which I was unable to eat, it was a diabetic coma on a plate. I was going to discretely get cereal off the table however there were no bowls or milk, not wanting to be a complainer two days in a row, I just didn't eat. For the price that we paid to stay here, I expected more options, a cleaner environment (many carpet stains and dusty antiques) and not to have to scrub my own bath tub before I felt comfortable enough to climb in it. Great spot for those of us who are fans of off-the-beaten path B&Bs. A lovely spot that is TRULY on "the falls." (Choose a room on the falls side). It's in a neighborhood that is very accessible to Northhampton and all the delights of the Pioneer Valley. If you like "Disney-fied" B&B's that are pristine and coddling, this is not your spot. Very nice for that romantic getaway. The waterfall suite was cozy and the sound of the waterfall rushing over the dam was very soothing. The inh has an old fashined New England feel to it. It is quite and oeaceful.

I was excited to stay at the Old Mills, especially because I wanted to enjoy the falls. I however was not able to enjoy the view, but the hotel is beautiful. We loved it but its not for everyone. It is reminisent of spending the night at your grandmothers house. Lots of antiques and charming old furnishings. The rooms while clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated were small and had a musty smell that came and went. There was however WIFI which surprised me. The bathroom was immaculate and they provided plenty of towels (which made points with me). Overall the inn is quite pleasant, and the stay was comfortable. The server who attends to breakfast was very accommodating and did all she could to ensure our breakfast met our needs. My one major issue is that we had 2 rooms which, by all account seemed identical - except for price - there was a $50 difference between the two. One faced the rear, […] one the street, but otherwise were virtually the exact same size with the same amenities. This seemed not at all right. Also, some few added guest amenities would be nice - ice, perhaps a supply of available beverages. Many inns now provide such nice and welcome comforts. Would have been great except when walked in a horrible smell greeted me. I almost turned around and walked out as I was really ill from the smell; not sure if old carpet or what it was but it lingered all week-end. The house is nestled among trees and next to a gentle waterfall that is so soothing to hear from almost all the rooms of the hotel. The beds are marvelously deep and comfortable. The decor of the rooms is antiquey with the nice touch of old dated LIFE Magazines and books. Lots of sitting areas outside of the rooms. Ted, the owner is very friendly and […] makes the most yummy breakfasts. There is a local pub down the street and a tiny corner store. The B&B is not really within walking distance of anything commercial. The area is very quiet and peaceful. The towns of Amherst and Hadley are only 15 minutes drive away (home of about 5 colleges). Downtown Amherst is a nice venue. I would like to come back and do some of the nature things available, like river boat tour on the Conneticut River or hiking trails. I was there for a special event in Amherst for one weekend, so I did not take advantage of the outdoor life that surrounds the area. I have never stayed in a B&B before so I have nothing to compare this stay to, but I found it wonderful. Each room is decorated differently, but all seemed to have seating, dressers, queen beds, lots of windows that open, good lighting, nice bathrooms and closets. No hairdryers, but my room had an iron and board in the closet. I would recommend Old Mill on the Falls Inn to everyone, I promise, you will fall in love with the place and location. Read more

The staff was very nice and accomodating. Unfortunately, we were not aware that the deck room was the handycap access room right off the dining room. The bed was very comfy. It is a lovely old place but a bit musty with very eclectic furnishings. This place has a lot of character but could do with a little bit of a face lift.

I stayed 3 nights in the room next to the "waterfalls"/run-off with a canopy bed and 5 windows when the full moon shined through on my pillow - romantic and peaceful. The sounds of the waterfall were quite soothing. The owner was friendly, professional and a very good cook. He also sometimes offers entertainment - call him to check on the dates. Otherwise, […] there is not a lot of entertainment in the immediate area, and don't expect any fast food restaurants! Make sure the alarm in your room works! Don't expect perfection - my opinion is that it is just not important whether every speck of dust is cleaned off. The landscape out front was very pretty with weeping cherry tree blossoms and other spring blossoms. Does not have a lot of restaurants in the neighborhood except the FishTail down the street - and it was good (not excellent), and has quite a crowd for happy hour! This place was incredibly cute and the owner was top notch...super friendly, inviting and a very gracious host. My sister and I came up here for a girl's weekend reliving our college days at UMass and doing a "food tour" of all our favorite hot spots in Amherst. The location is a bit remote and requires a car, but luckily we are no longer spring chickens […] who drink like the college kids do anymore anyways...I only wish we had one more day to explore the area around us and walk around a bit, the falls and surrounding houses/fields are perfect for some photos.
