"we love orange lake"
Our stay was great! We love Orange Lake Resort. The only complaint i have is that the beds are VERY HARD. Other than that it was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place to stay"
The only complaint about the hotel is the location. 20 minute each way to the Magic Kingdom. The hotel is very nice.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Villa and Resort"
The stay was too short! We will definitely return to stay longer in the near future.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for Family"
Overall our stay at the resort was very nice. We are a family of four with two boys ages three and five. The pool in River Island was great for them. It has a long lazy river that we went through several times. We did not rent the tubes, but the boys had arm floaties and really enjoyed "swimming" the river! The room was very nice as well. It had a […] washer and a dryer in it as well as a stocked kitchen (stocked with essentials such as dishes and even small appliances.) The room was very clean. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"nice"
Really nice place. Would come back and stay however they started bugging us to come clean our rooms before it was even time to check out. Stayed in room until we had to leave. Only asked once about doing timeshare presentationGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel"
Family friendly hotel with lots of things to do for everyone. We had a great time and would consider going again next year. You will be asked to go to a time share presentation but we declined and were left alone for the 9 days we were there.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Disney and places to eat"
This is our favorite place to stay. The rooms have been renovated, so no matter where they put us we know what we are getting. The grounds are perfect for running or walking, and the kids love the pool area. The location is close to Disney World, and several new restaurants have opened right near the property.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
all the time we go in there we get lost , I think they could add better signs and in the night is really dark so is easy to get lost. But the rooms are beautiful!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Pleasantly pleased"
After reading other reviews about this place, I went there with lowered expectations and was pleasantly pleased. Only asked once for the time share meeting, villa was clean, no smells. The facility was huge with lots of options and fun for kids ( 12, 16 ). Ok so a little mildew on the caulking in the shower...what do you expect in Florida???Genuine Expedia guest review
"orange lake"
It was a fast check, however avoid the timeshare scam. They tell you that you will receive a $20 credit, but it is so limited it is useless. Walk out after you check in. Also ask for the newly renovated room. HUGE difference...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Best Time Share."
My family visiting this resort from 1982, and always we had wonderful vacation. This resort is the best.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A mixed bag"
It was OK. If you're on vacation and going to Disney the location is good, since it's close. I was there in business and chose to stay there because the conference I was attending was relatively nearby and the Orange Lake Resort was a lot more affordable. In that respect it fit the bill. On the downside, however, was that I arrived late and tired due […] to some airline snafus and the person at the front desk sent me the wrong way to find my room. I only half blame her because the layout of the resort is not the easiest. Next when I got to my room it smelled of must and mildew. I went back to the front desk and asked for a different room which they immediately provided, so at least they took care of that, but it was disappointing that the room was in that condition to begin with. The resort itself looks nice and the grounds are nicely kept, but there really wasn't much to do there once the sun went down. At least not that I saw. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Don't look anywhere else!"
I just went and stayed for a whole week and it was phenomenal! I stayed in room 5254. Yes I went to all of the attractions like Disney and Universal Studios but the hotel itself was an attraction! So much to do for all ages and simply a great place to stay! The staff is curteous and friendly and the room was great! Granite, king size bed, plasma tvs, […] large tub, 7 heated pools....simply phenomenal! It is really close to Disney and about 20 minutes from Universal. You will not be disappointed so go ahead and book and relax because you will have made a good choice. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"We are 5 pleople"
It was nice and we enjoy de pools. They tried to sell us a vacation package, but we didnt buy it, because we have to give them our passport and credit card. That was the only thing we don´t like.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Wish they would have told you up front!!"
The 2 bedroom condo that we rented was ok, the drain in the shower was clogged and did not get fixed. The staff at check in was extremely pushy on trying to get you to attend the 90-120 minute time share presentation. They called you each day to come to it. Annoying. Overall I think the property was a good value, but I would not stay there again. They […] don't tell you all of the stipulations of $8/ day fee for internet and the $90/ day cleaning bill if you want that. I don't think they were up front with you when you made the reservation. "great option for traveling with children"
the hotel amenities are wonderful - pools, playgrounds, etc. All were perfect for our stay as we have two children under 4 years. The villa was wonderful too - everyone had their own bedroom so we all got great sleep (something that's not always guaranteed when you're all in the same room!)Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great accommodations."
We only stayed in our condo one night, but the condo itself was superb. It was a great value. Wish the weather had been better and wish that we had reserved it for at least 2 nights. A couple of things that we didn't like: We ordered room service from the pizza place and picked it up. The order was not complete when we got back to the condo. We called […] the restaurant, told them what was missing, and that we were coming back to pick up what was left out. By the time we got back to the restaurant, it had closed. My daughter had to bang on the door to make them open up for us. Also, when we checked in the front desk clerk was great in finding 2 condos next to each other. But when we took the $20 certificate (not sure what that was about) to the next clerk, we explained we had children in the cars and could not spend time discussing the coupon. The clerk didn't seem to want to let us leave without going through some type of sales pitch. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This a great place to stay everything is perfect with the only exception the guy bame Sal that was trying to make us go to a timeshare presentation and when we said that we were not going he turn kind of agressive and rude didnt like it since i love the place and that incident was very uncomfortableGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"BUMMER..."
Brought my family for a week. This place is a old school timeshare community. Pressure when we checked in for a presentation and to buy a timeshare with them. NOT A HOTEL. No housekeeping, the unit smelled, damp, just run down.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great, spacious room."
The 2 bedroom villa is very spacious and was more than we expected. The screened in porch over-looking the golf course was unexpected and a nice bonus. We only stayed there 1 night before our reservation on Disney property started. I feel the facility offers as much as a Disney resort does and is a great alternative to staying on property. Two cons: […] it is far from the parks (3 miles is farther than you think in Orlando, plus its a busy street with a lot of lights). We were also woken up at 4:00am by mowing/blowing on the golf course. My assumption is that they probably maintain the golf course every morning at this time but we were only there one night. "Nice but not dying to go back."
Stayed at Orange Lake Resort as a guest, not as an owner of the condo unit. Was anticipating being inundated with the resort trying to lure us to a meeting regarding becoming a timeshare owner. The only contact the hotel made with us was upon check in and continuously tried to call and left messages on the condo landline which we never answered. The […] amenities of the resort were clean and open. Hours of swimming were nice as well as the arcade and youth area. Pools were warm and clean and plenty of room to find poolside chairs. Staff in the resort stores and arcade were not friendly. Condo was very clean and not smelly. Nice kitchen with all that we needed. We did bring an electric skillet. Parking by condo was not a problem. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Reminded me a cruise"
Because we'd receive a daily voice message telling us of the day's activities, i.e. karoake, pool-side games, happy hour. Definitely, family-oriented. You don't have to leave the premises. Our suite was wonderful. Flat screen in living & bdrm area. Huge bathrm & tub. Easy access to a Publix where we stocked up for our kitchen, but they have a grocery […] store on-site. There were strange crows all over the East Villafe property and when we went jogging, the property smelled like death. We dont golf, so the property was much less useful to us than most. I declined the on-property walk-thru at check in, but that didn't prevent them from calling us at 8:30am the next morning to ask again (New Year's Eve). The next two […] nights we left the phone off the hook, so I wouldn't know if they'd continue the early calls. There was early morning construction also on the day we checked out - loud facility workers yelling out commands to eachother. All in all, not the place for sleeping in, but otherwise okay as far as accommodations. Be wary of the 10am check-out time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel"
The hotel is awesome, spacious and clean rooms, very well decorated. Hotel has a lot of amenities to enjoy in family or with friends. Has 7 pools. I just visited one or two. The main pool has a lazy river, water falls, artificial beach, and hammocks. It has restaurants, souvenir stores, Starbucks store, and arcade with pool table, and many other games. […] There is a karaoke night and a lot of entrainment. The only cons is the customer services by phone. If you need anything is better if you go to the front desk and ask for it there because the staff there is very nice and trying to make you stay pleasant, all the contrary with the ones that answer the phone that don't even let you ask the question. In general is a good place to stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I booked the 2 bedroom suite and it was truly amazing and beautiful! It was extremely clean and comfortable and fits about 8 people. I honestly have no complaints about this hotel! "Disappointing Trip"
This was our 4th time visiting Orange Lake Resort, 2nd time in 2012. On past trips, I have raved this is our favorite family vacation spot. Unfortunately, this year was different. It started with our reservation. We were told on the phone that we would be given a 2 bedroom villa for a 1 bedroom rate. We were super stoked! We brought along a baby-sitter […] because we knew we would have extra room. When we arrived at the resort, there was no note about the upgrade. We asked to speak to a Manager who made no effort to make things better and was completely unapologetic. He said the hotel was completely booked. Like I said, we've been to the hotel many times before, the parking lot and pools were nowhere near capacity. I find his story hard to believe. I was floored by the lack of professionalism. We crammed our family plus one into a 1 bedroom condo. Two nights later we decided it just wasn't working in the one bedroom. We called down to Guest Services and requested a room upgrade. They wanted to charge an upgrade nightly fee (fine) PLUS a $150 cleaning fee. Seriously? We felt like the whole situation was a bait and switch. The worst part is all the employees were so rude and not understanding of our situation. Very uncharacteristic of the Holiday Inn brand. I am not sure if this resort is under new management or what but the level of service has definitely changed. We will need to think long and hard about ever staying at this resort again which is very unfortunate. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Vacation RUINED by Burglary"
Our stay was great until our 3rd night. We came home from being in EPCOT all day and found our villa's main door to be open. We were staying in a 2 bedroom villa on the West Village. We found out that the thief stole food from the refrigerator. We kept our valuables in the safe ( thankfully!!) I reported the incident to the resort operator who told […] us the security officer will be coming over immediately. We waited for the security officer to arrive and we had to make a second phone call after 45 minutes of waiting to remind them that we were waiting for the security officer because a thief got into the villa. By this time our young children were already crying and scared. When the 2 security officers arrived, they basically just asked questions and even tried to discourage us from filing a report because it will take some time and a lot of paper work. I had to ask them to make a security check of the villa before they left and had to show them that the main door lock was tampered by the thief. I asked one of the officers to look into the attic entrance because it looked tampered as well. She refused to go inside saying she has a bad back. The security officers had another theft announced over their radio while they were in our villa.Needless to say, we were out of that resort bright and early the next morning and WOULD NOT GO BACK ever. UNSAFE AND SCARY PLACE TO BE. RESORT SECURITY IS VERY POOR. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Make sure you are checked out by 10am"
We live an hour from Disney but prefer to stay in local hotels when we make our monthly visits to Disney & Universal. We like to try different hotels. (Hilton - Bonnet Creek, Nickeloden Hotel, Marriott Trade Center, etc.) We chose this hotel because it was one of a few places to accomodate 8 of us in one room. We had a 3 br/3 bath room and the place […] was 1500+ sq ft. Room was huge and the inside was clean. But, there was a full trash bag outside our front door as we entered the room. Before I booked this hotel, I had read several reviews that stated the housekeeping/maintanence staff would show up before the 10am checkout time to make sure you were gone by 10am. I first thought 10am was too early for a checkout time and maybe the staff was showing up for other reasons. NOPE. Samething happened to us. At 830am, housekeeping rang the bell and knocked and asked us if we were checking out today. I said we would be out by 10am. Then at 930am, a maintanence man rang the bell and knocked and asked us if we were checking out today. I said we would be out in 30 minutes. It was just annoying to feel rushed to leave a place so early. They didn't even pick up the trash bags and I noticed clean towels on top on the full trash bag as we were leaving. Looks like there were lots to do on property if your room was closer to the action. Unfortunately for us we were in the back on the resort and didn't get to enjoy the resort as much because of our one night stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Great place, we stay here all the time. They are VERY pushy when you first check in about trying to get to do a timeshare presentation. If you can say no and walk away, they don't bother you again and it's a great place.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for the family"
This was our third time staying at Orange Lake, and is the only resort we will stay at when we travel to Orlando. Plenty of room for larger families, excellent amenities, and relatively close proximity to Disney, especially now that a new expressway line has opened by Irlo Bronson Highway. Lots to do for children of all ages.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mediocre At Best"
Our hotel room was very nice and clean and the 1 bedroom villa came with a nice kitchen. The room was a little out of date but not bad at all. The pool is great but they say it is heated to 84 degrees and it did not feel heated. Make sure that you stay at River Island. There are a lot of places that are far away from pools and dining. There were not […] as many dining options as were claimed and the service/quality of the food were far from good. They try hard to sell you immediately on their timeshare presentation offering us a gift certificate that they told us would be good for golf or mini-golf and when we try to use it for that we were told that we would have to purchase another package to use the gift certificate that we had. They try to nickel and dime you on expenses the entire time you are here. There is no way that I would buy a timeshare here. If you are planning on staying here be prepared to pay a lot after you check-in (Resort Fee, Tube Fee, Mini-Golf, Rock Climbing, etc...). The overall experience has been so-so.
