"Met all expectations for a Paris hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Traveling with two little kids (5 & 1), we had the junior suite. It was very clean and spacious (paris hotels are notorious for small rooms). Staff were very accomodating, friendly and helpful. Location is great with the RER and metro right outside doorsteps. Starbucks just outside, two malls within blocks and a good shopping area while most major sites are within 30 minute walking. Reccomend.

"Good deal for the price"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The room was a little small but had twin beds, desk, chair, closet, and luggage stand. The windows opened and there was a fan available in the room if needed. Good cafes in the neighborhood. Metro station very close. We would use this hotel again.
"Five star experience"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
This was our second stay at Hotel de Vendome and it topped the excellent experience that we enjoyed in November 2010. We were upgraded to a corner deluxe suite for an anniversary trip and welcomed with red rose petals in the room. Every detail of the hotel is first class with a very warm and friendly staff. Breakfast in the room every morning was a luxury followed by a walk in the Tuileries just a block from the hotel. If you're looking for the ultimate elegant boutique Parisian hotel, then you'll find it here. We'll be coming back to this one again. Bon voyage.

By the Tuileries gardens on the Seine’s Right Bank, the Louvre museum dominates Paris’s cultural heart. Exclusive boutiques line Rue St-Honoré and Rue de Rivoli, and a shiny modern shopping mall occupies the old market of Les Halles. The 2nd is the finance and theatre district, containing the Bourse (stock exchange) and the Comédie Française national theatre. Châtelet–Les Halles station is the city’s biggest and busiest transport interchange.
see all hotels in Paris"perfectly quaint & quiet"
The hotel was in the a great location, very close to the Louvre and yet since it is on a side street it was very quiet - perfect! The staff was extremely helpful in finding restaurants to eat and how to use the RER or metro to get to tourist attractions. Their breadkfast offerred a perfect selection of food to start the day

"Wow, What a Find!"
We stayed in Paris for two nights at the L'Empire Paris after having spent three nights at Disneyland Paris (at the Disneyland Hotel there). This was a family trip doing both "The Mouse" stuff and some sightseeing. Most of the reviews were positive for this hotel prior to my booking it, but they didn't do it justice. We were in room 303 - "Rembrandt" […] - I think. It overlooked rue de L'Arbre Sec. Location - The hotel is a 10 minute walk to Notre Dame, a 5 minute walk to The Louvre Museum, 20 minute walk to the Seine River boats/tours. There are huge department stores 2 minutes away. There are wonderful, cute little boulangerie/patisseries ALL around the hotel (3 minutes in any direction), and there are several little restaurants / wine bars on rue de L'Arbre Sec. You want to get on the Metro, you say? 3 minutes one way towards the Louvre for one station or 4 minutes the other way for Les Halles (a major RER + Metro/subway station). The hotel is tucked back 30 yards or so on rue de L'Arbre Sec, so it's not easy to spot from Rue de Rivouli (sp?). Once you find it, though, you're hooked. Rooms - We had a "family room" with a jacuzzi spa. It had a king bed (very comfortable) and a pull-out double for our two children in another room. Each room had it's own TV. Very modern, and very, very spacious by French/European standards. The bathroom was also very large and spacious by European standards. Then entire "apartment" was decorated in a very modern style which we all liked. Huge, spacious closets as well. Staff - The staff all spoke very passable English. My French is far worse than their English. They all were extremely accommodating - from asking for an extra luggage rack / holder in the bedroom, to asking to take some coffee and tea back to the room after our breakfast the staff was warm and welcoming. Better than the treatment we received at Disney, if you can believe that. Breakfast - Breakfast was included with our room package. I would suggest that if you book a Read more

"L Empire Paris- Great location; great Staff"
The location of the hotel was perfect, walking distacne to almost all the must see sites. Staff very friendly and always willing to go an extra step to help you. The room was very confortable, renovated and super clean.
"L'Empire Paris-Fabulous!"
Great location, so close to the Metro and a great neighborhood, many restaurants, cafes and shops. They provided excellent customer service and accommodated our last minute request to have our two rooms next to each other which we had not previously asked for. Our rooms were on the bottom floor (sub-floor) and only had a view of a tiny outdoor area, […] but we were happy to be next to each other. Rooms were very nice and spotless. Loved the bathroom, also. Great boutique look and feel throughout hotel. Staff went out of their way to assist my friend who unfortunately had lost luggage. A lot of phone calls with the airline...! I will be returning next summer to Paris and can't wait to stay here again! A+++ Read more
Very nice boutique hotel - unusually spacious room (for Europe).
"Great boutique hotel"
Awesome location and amazing staff. Stayed in a superior room which was definitely roomy by euro standards. Great service---bed always turned, room cleaned daily, etc. Staff was helpful for finding directions, recommendations, etc. Greetings every time they saw you and really put customer service first it appeared. Best part is the location is mad […] close to all the sights---and a bus is only a block away at Pont Neuf to get to the Left Bank (Eiffel Tower, etc). The Cafe north and 1/2 block away is an undiscovered, non-tour book treat---don't miss it. Easily the best one we ate at all week and packed every night with locals. Read more
"Was not impressed"
The staff were very nice and location was very good. However the facilities themselves are not so great. Our room had water seeping under the floor and when you stepped the water came up through the floor boards. They did change us to another room and had plumbers/ repairmen come in immediately to start repairs. There is really no lobby and the style...sort […] of a dark version of Ikea meets Mondrian makes me wonder what you can not see. Read more
"very good stay"
We enjoyed our stay at the Empire. We had an excellent, quiet room, which was very spacious with good linens. This hotel is in an excellent location for touring important sights in the city. Service was very good. Staff made a big effort to answer questions and set up tours for us if we asked.
"L Empire Tired Art Deco but great location."
Great and helpful staff. Rooms clean but tired art deco style. Location is great by Louvre and Pont Neuf. Lots of local resturants close.
"L'Empire"
The staff was all five star by USA standards. The hotel itself does not deserve more than three stars by American standards, as there are no gym facilities, and the air conditioning is not very strong. Overall, for a small boutique hotel id was more than fine with an excellent location.
"The Employees & the Service blew me away."
I usually stay at 5 star hotels, but the Paris Airshow was occurring so everything was sold out or $1500. Since we needed 3 rooms, this wasn't going to work. What I usually rave about with 5 star hotels is the service, L'Empire blew them out of the water. The small boutique atmosphere coupled with young, vivacious staff proved dynamo. We loved them. "Great Hotel, close to the louvre gallery"
Great hotel. The staff go out of their way to please you.
"L Empire Hotel, perfect Paris visit!"
I have stayed in Paris before and knew where I wanted to be. L Empire is situated in the very heart of the Louve neighborhood, near Notre Dame, great cafes and eateries. The service is outstanding, the staff is very helpful, and rooms are modern and very comfortable. I will stay there again.
"Centrally located, clean modern and polite staff"
The staff here is young, polite, spoke English, was very helpful and accommodating. I arrived early and was immediately shown to my room. For a Paris hotel, this was a stand out. The room and bathroom were very large, modern and clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It's within a half block of the Metro station (Louvre-Rivoli) and and very […] conveniently located to everything you'll want to see. Stay here. Read more
"Nice and Affordable Boutique Hotel in Paris"
A true boutique, small lobby and restaurant. My room was very nice size and faced a pleasant courtyard. Staff was very courteous and accommodating. Location is great -- next door to the Louvre and steps away from the Marais. Overall a good choice if you're on my kind of budget (around $200 US).
"I would definitely go back"
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. We arrived at 8:00 am after an over night flight from the States and were able to check in right away (the room happened to be available, otherwise we would have to wait until the afternoon check in time) . We booked a "superior room" which was very clean and spacious. The hotel location is fabulous. […] Free WiFi available (I believe the Hotel.com website says there is a surcharge). I agree with some of the other reviewers who said don't bother with the breakfast. There are so many great places to eat around the hotel, why limit yourself to one overpriced hotel meal every morning? The only negative was that our room was below the lobby level which made it very quiet for street noise, but we were near the maid/janitor rooms and they were noisy at all hours of the day and evening. But we weren't in the room that much, so it wasn't a real big deal. They had periodic water outages (I don't know if it was due to construction going on at the building next door) but they always gave us enough warning so we could plan our day accordingly. I would highly recommend this hotel. Read more
"Worth every penny"
This is a modern styled hotel and very well appointed. The amenities were numerous and all of great quality and the room was wonderfully comfortable. The location was unbeatable; midway between Les Halles and The Louvre. The bar was a real gem too, a nice place for a drink after a long day of sightseeing with a really friendly bar tender. "Great Location - Lovely Hotel"
This is a lovely small hotel for those who detest the large hotels that are so impersonal. The staff was very helpful and all speak English. The room was small but we had a king sized bed, (very hard to find in Europe) and it was comfortable. My husband liked the variety of cable channels, many in English with American and British shows. The buffet […] breakfast is not worth the 25 euro price. When we checked out, the elevator was broken and one of the staff carried our luggage to the lobby from the third floor. The neighborhood is very close to the Louvre and a Metro stop. There are lots of cafes and shopping close by. Would stay there again. Read more

"L Empire Paris"
Excellent hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Two short blocks to the Louvre and great central location. Easy walk to Notre Dame Cathedral and Latin Quarter. Many excellent restaurants in close proximity to the hotel. Very attentive service!! Excellent European buffet breakfast at hotel with fresh breads, eggs, sliced ham, cheeses, and lox. Large […] comfortable rooms and bedding. European-style shower in jacuzzi bathtub. No shower curtain. Somewhat noisy if room is directly facing the street, but I would definitely return. Next time, I would request an interior room. Read more
"L Empire Paris.... City Center Beauty"
This hotel was AWESOME! The staff was very pleasant and always there to help. There is a subway station practically at your front door (Louvre Rivoli). "Excellent Experience"
The hotel was in a perfect location to access the key sites in Paris. The rooms were well-appointed, and very quiet, and bathrooms were modern and perfect for Americans. The front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful. They made our stay enjoyable.
"Good location / nice hotel"
The hotel was close to the Louvre and a couple of different subway stations. Notre Dame was within a short walking distance from the hotel just across the river. Also, there were lots of restaurants on the little side streets behind the hotel. Plus, there were some small grocery stores just a couple of blocks away. The breakfast included was great […] and had a good variety of foods to choose from. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The only negative was the tub was very tall and no shower curtain, so it was difficult to take a shower without the floor getting all wet. Also, the hot water is extremely hot, so if traveling with children be careful about being scalded. Read more

"Tiny Room and Bath"
Every thing was tiny including the tables and chairs in the bar which is used for breakfast. This hotel would definitely not be a 4 star in my book but the location is great if you are a tourist.
"Great Location"
We stayed in Paris twice during our vacation. The first time was in the Latin Quarter. If we had known about the Les Halle area in advance we would have stayed in that area the first. L'Empire was a fantastic hotel and the location was central to everything that we wanted - Louve, shopping, Norte Dame, and the metro to get to other locations. Super clean hotel in a great location. Near all the attractions and museums. Front desk is super helpful too but dont let them call a taxi because the taxis start charging from the time of the phone call - even if theyre 15 minutes away!
"Well designed but noisy"
Although I requested a quiet room I was given one which had construction going on right outside begining about 7:30am, including Saturdays. The desk staff pretended to know nothing about this. The room was very small but well designed and comfortable. Could have used a full lenghth mirror somewhere. Staff was friendly and helpfull other than in situation […] described above. Read more
"Great location great holiday"
Stayed at L'equipe for three nights over a weekend for my girlfriends birthday, a stones throw from Louvre Rivoli metro station. The hotel upgraded us to an underground room, king size bed, excellent. Wooden floor, cream walls, BBC TV, very quiet considering its location. All the staff speak english, which is always nice I guess. Cool little cocktail […] bar. Had breakfast just down the road. We did get bitten by mosquioto's though in the room, which you don't expect ... but I guess thats not the hotels fault. Read more
"Nice hotel, good location"
This hotel is well located for the Louvre, shopping, Notre Dame, and the Metro. There was some confusion as I was told breakfast was included and then it showed up on my bill, but over all a nice place.
"Hotel did make my trip to Paris a memorable experience"
Ideal location for seeing true Parisian life and blending in with the culture and fun. Near the river, myriad of good food and good wallking area, next to the my favourite area, the Marais for evening fun, food and laughter.
"Great little hotel in perfect location"
The room was as sophisticated and modern as the pictures on the website suggest, yet very comfortable. We had the Tallyrand Room which had a King bed, desk and small sitting area - plenty of room to spread out. The location was absolutely perfect: one block to the Metro, two blocks to the Louvre and within easy walking distance of the d’Orsay Museum […] and Notre Dame. "L'Empire Paris: great location and great service"
Within easy walking distance of the Llouvre and Notre Dame. Also an easy distance away from the Eiffel tower, Arc de Triumph, Grand Palais, Petit Palais and numerous other museums. I should specify that it's an easy distance if you enjoy walking. I made a day of walking to the Eiffel Tower from my hotel, stopping at every monument and museum along the […] way and it was very enjoyable. Also many delicious restaurants, cafes and bistros in the immediate area. In addition, the staff was fantastic. More than willing to help me with anything I needed, restaurant recommendations and reservations, event tickets, great night clubs, even booking massages. Rates run a little high, but what else would you expect from a hotel of this caliber? I have nothing bad to say about this hotel, at all. Read more

"Great location, lovely staff, room needs improving"
My partner and I stays in room 413 for a 4 day break in February 2012. Our room rate included breakfast. This hotel is in a great location if you are wanting to see the sights of Paris. You can walk to many places and the nearest Metro line is about 100m away. We walked to the Eiffel Tower and it took about 50 minutes along the riverside. All I will […] say if you are gong to Paris at this time of year...dress up warm! The staff in the hotel were great and very helpful. Breakfast was served with a smile and a laugh and the evening bar staff went the extra mile to ensure we're enjoying our drinks with ample free snacks and the occasional extra shot for the cocktails. Unfortunalely the room was not quite up to the standard expected from a 4 star hotel. At first glance, it looked exactly like the photos on the website with tasteful decor, sloped roof with sky lights and spacious bathroom. The bed was very large and comfy. However, after unpacking and exploring the room in more detail, it was obvious that the finish was not to a good standard with grout missing in floor tiles, holes in wall filled badly around the desk area and the sink above the mini bar leaked and flooded the nearby flooring. The other issue in the room was the heating. Probably due to the time of year, we really stuggled to get the room to the right temperature and the thermostat was pretty useless. During the day it was too cold and despite putting the temperature up to 32c, we had to get a noisy plug in heater to provide extra heat. At night it got a little too warm but there were vents on the windows to assist with this. I'm not sure if this was linked but the shower went constantly from hot to cold in the mornings so it's possible the hotel was having a general issue with heating. The staff were very helpful and did their best to resolve the heat issue in the room. We had a good stay in this hotel. I should point out that I stay in many hotels each year on business so am maybe more critical of t Read more
"Perfect location for a weekend trip"
The hotel was chosen because of the location to the nearby attractions that we wanted to see. It was very easy to find even though its down a side street but that made it better. The area is very good with easy access to everything you wanted for a weekend trip to Paris. The hotel was very good with it looking as if its been newly refurbed, and if modern […] minimalist is your thing then this is done very well. Staff were very helpful and polite. The only negative is that as the floors were all wooden or tiled they were noisey with people walking around. But that didnt really bother us much. Read more
