"beautiful location close to airport"
I highly recommend this hotel as the place to stay before flying out. Cab fare wasn't bad, and the location is lovely. Nice restaurant at the hotel and a fine one down the ocean walk, too. Hotel room was beautiful and bed very comfortable. Wish I could have stayed longer!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Beautiful hotel and room. We stayed in the Junior Suite for one night before heading to our vacation destination and it was amazing. We will definitely stay here again. Hopefully our stay will be longer next time. Bonus was the street market was held the evening we got in which was really fun. Excellent hotel. Very comfortable, clean, quiet, great view, close to all amenities.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was concerned that this hotel, like many in Sydney are "pet friendly." But there was no reason to be. Our room was clean and comfortable. We were on the town side but it was very quiet. We enjoyed the Thursday market and the British shop close by. I did not book this hotel with the idea that it is also touted as a spa but if I had I would have been […] disappointed. "One of tour most enjoyable hotel stays ."
This was one of the nicest hotel experiences we have had in some time. Sidney is a small town with a lot of charm and an easy walk from the Anacortes Ferry if traveling with light luggage. The Sidney Pier Hotel and Spa room was spacious, sparkling new and the views were impressive and great for people or boat watching. We could see the local young gendarmes […] on bikes patrolling the harbor and stopping to say hello as we walked the pier. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. After an afternoon at Butchart Gardens, we had our dinner sitting outside on our rooms patio 3rd floor, overlooking most of the harbor. The weather was perfect. Afterwards we took a walk along the Sidney Harbor-side Boardwalk with it's wonderful sidewalk sculptures. Everyone said we must go to Victoria. We will do that on our next trip, but will stay with this hotel. Our only regret was that we had only one day before returning. This was a perfect get-away with a lot less traffic and such different sunlight hours. We both this hotel 5 out of 5 stars for comfort, cleanliness, and enjoyment. "Excellent location, wonderful staff"
We stayed at the Sidney Pier Hotel & Spa while we were in Sidney getting married. The view from our room was excellent, we could see the fireworks and hear the band playing from our room. The staff was helpful and kind, even bringing us chocolate covered strawberries to celebrate. We enjoyed our stay very much.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Love this hotel"
My 4th stay at this hotel. Always just for one night when we need to get to the airport and I always wish it could be longer. Lovely comfortable, clean rooms. Staff are great and really helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice hotel on the water. Walking distance to everything. My only complaint that seems to be common in a few places is I had no cell service in the hotel. As soon as you step outside the hotel you get 5 bars of service, but step 3 feet inside the hotel and you get none. This is inconvenient and could potentially make for expensive hotel phone bills if […] you need to make a lot of calls. Not the hotel's fault though. It happened in a few places in town close to the water. I was on the Roger's phone network. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Efficient, friendly service in a great location"
Highly recommended. We only stayed here overnight and so didn't get to use all of the facilities available but our brief visit here was just perfect. From possibly the best check-in I have ever experienced through to its perfect location everything was just right. A favourite hotel, so much so we hope to make this our next holiday from the UK.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Awsome!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was easily found. Check in was fairly quick, and staff were very courteous. The room we stayed in was clean and a nice size. We had a balcony to look at the ocean, and a short walk in any direction took us to many restaurants, lovely shops or a walk on the pier over the ocean. It was a shame we were in Sidney for only a one night stay. The […] hotel itself was really quiet so we were able to have a great nights sleep. I would definitely stay there again, although I might try to find a hotel that included breakfast next trip for the same price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The location was great -- overlooking the water. We enjoyed walking along the path beside the ocean. The service was excellent: very friendly & responsive. The room was clean, attractive and well-equipped. We really appreciated the kettle (we're tea drinkers) & also the fridge. I found the mattress a little too hard for my aging, arthritic joints, though […] it's probably fine for most people. All in all, though, an excellent hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We were passing through Sidney on our way back to SeaTac Airport and only stayed there for one night. The hotel and staff were so great we would have liked to stay longer. The hotel is contemporary in design and we found the decor very nice and calming. We had a balcony which overlooked the Cannery, but we also had a nice view of the sea. Loved the single serve coffee machine once we figured out how to use it. The hotel has free covered (underground) parking which is something I've never seen at a hotel of this caliber. It is less than 5 minutes from the Anacortes Ferry. We had dinner at the Rumrunner Pub. It was the best meal we had on our trip. We would like to go back to Sidney some day and look forward to staying at the Sidney Pier Hotel & Spa again.

My daughter and I were on vacation and wanted someplace great and close to the airport to start off our trip. The room was nice. The bed was nice. The bath soaps were very nice and smelt wonderful. The view was nice, if you looked straight out. When you looked down you saw a bad roof top. The restaurant was nice. Everything was just nice, nothing was great or exceptional. It was disappointing since their website made things look more grand than what they were. I was glad I had only booked one night. I also thought the carpets were a little dirty, but the furniture was nice.
"Junior suite: nice room, not so nice view .. & airport noise"
10/11/14 VeniVidiScripsi Seattle, WA
My wife and I stayed at the Sidney Pier Hotel in September. We wanted a place close to the Butchart Gardens, but having stayed in Victoria a few times already, wanted to try something different. The staff at the hotel were all friendly and helpful, the room was nice, but I was very disappointed in the room location. We booked a junior suite, supposedly the second best class of room at the hotel. Our room was on the south side of the 2nd floor, as far away from the water as one could be without facing Seaport Place (the street at the front of the hotel, parallel to the water). We could see the water ... mostly through many layers of plexiglass from the balconies of all the rooms to the east of ours. We could clearly hear all the patrons leaving the pub across the street, and the people digging through trash for bottles, and the airplanes taking off and landing at the airport nearby. Thankfully, the air traffic and other noise ended around 10:30pm and the first plane did not land until around 6:30am. We arrived around 7:00pm, after a long drive back from Tofino (where we spent 2 amazing days at the Wickaninnish Inn), and were leaving the next day, and it was raining on and off, so I didn't bother asking for a better room. The room itself was quite nice, and we enjoyed a good dinner via room service. But it fell considerably short of my expectations ... perhaps in part due to the Wickaninnish Inn having exceeded my expectations the previous 2 days. I would recommend that anyone staying there request a room on the east side (water facing) or north side (the airport is to the southwest of the hotel, so I'm presuming noise from planes is lower on the north side) ... and not to expect that just because you have a junior suite that it will be well situated within the hotel.
"Our thied stay at the Pier Hotel"

We have been here before and this was our choice for spending a few night on our 54th anniversary. Great choice, upgrade to beautiful sea view room and staff delivered a nice bottle of wine and platter of fresh fruit. Tried to take a nap but the ships passing by and islands in the background made it impossible to close my eyes. Great dinning near by and plenty of shopping for the wife. Will return again, soon. "hops, restaurants and the waterfront promenade just outside your door"
10/10/14 Betserelly Anacortes, Washington
This is a lovely, newer hotel complex which is right on the waterfront of Sidney by the Sea. It is pricey, but with superb accessibility to the town, shops and with water views, it is definitely worth it. Our room, a king bed junior suite was spacious with a nice kitchenette and a south-facing deck with water view. It was across the street from a pub and inn, and it was a bit noisy for a while in the evening, but Sidney is a quiet town and things got quiet early on. I think the upper rooms on the south side would be very warm in the sunshine. There is a nice restaurant on the lower floor as well as a breakfast cafe. We were disappointed there was no pool or hot tub. There is a spa in the hotel which looked nice, but it did not have steam bath or hot tub amenities. The hotel is dog friendly, and for a dog friendly hotel it is especially nice. Parking is available for a nominal charge. Sidney is a charming waterfront village. In the summer on Thursday nights they close the streets and have a lovely street fair/market with live music. This hotel is adjacent to the small waterfront park that has an amphitheater and which is well used in the summer months.

The hotel is a very lovely property located in the heart of Sidney. Very comfortable with all the accomodations one could want. However the staff at this hotel goes above and beyond to make sure you feel you are the most important guest they have. The staff (especially Debbie, the front desk on the night shift) are so friendly, kind and knowledgeable. They are a wealth of information of things to see, do, visit, eat, explore etc. They always have time for you and you never feel rushed, or like another number asking the same question for the millionth time.

My first contact with the hotel was by phone. Katana (?) was lovely to speak with and offered an attractive rate so I booked a reservation. Upon arrival easy check in although you do have to handle your own luggage, which for us was easy but others might find difficult. Room was lovely and location ideal. They have a lab, Dave, that serves as their mascot, that visits on certain days in the lobby which I found very sweet. The only negative is the lobby needs some updating, sofa fabrics stained and the spa has the overwhelming Aveda scents which takes over the lobby. I emailed the GM, Natalie King with my feedback about the condition of the lobby and suggestions for improvements but have not received an acknowledgment from her to date so I am mentioning it here. Our friends, who are locals, recommended the hotel but were quite embarrassed by the condition of the lobby when they met us there to catch up. Otherwise I would recommend this hotel
"Outstanding quality and location"

We really enjoyed our recent stay here. We had a sea view king room, and were surprised by the spaciousness of the hotel room. The floor to ceiling windows overlooking the pier and ocean beyond allowed one to fully appreciate the gorgeous view. Located right in the heart of Sidney, making walking to restaurants and attractions convenient. The bathrooms were beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. I appreciated the plush robes and slippers provided. The room service menu is a little limited, but we popped down to Georgie's café and brought coffee and food back to our room. Have already recommended this hotel to others and would not hesitate to stay here again.

What a beautiful hotel, and it's right on the ocean in front of a great walking area with little shops and a fresh fish market. Our room looks out over the channel and the Islands and is absolutely picture perfect. The rooms are incredible with a kitchen, all the niceties, big flat screen TV and gas fire, incredible bathrooms. We have a one bedroom with a big soaking tub and shower, it's a huge bathroom. The living room has a pull out hide-a-bed in front of the fire and a second bathroom. We are sharing with family on a vacation, and it's super comfy and well set up to accommodate 4 people. It's like a very high end luxurious condo and you could easily live in this place! We woke this morning to a bank of windows in front of the pull out bed looking at the whole bay. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back the next trip to Canada!
"Very nice property, great location."

Today is only day two of a five day stay here at The Pier. It is a very nice property, of which I haven't had time to see all of yet. The location is terrific. There is nothing nicer than doing a 2km walk along the seawall in the morning before business meetings. The mini suite if very well appointed. The kitchen has everything necessary to cook meals if you choose to. I am very pleased so far and would definitely stay here again. There is a bit of noise from planes taking off (downside of being so close to the airport), but I have only heard a few. Also, there is tourist traffic outside along the shops by the Pier, but that is silent if you close the windows.
