"beautiful room, blah breakfast"
We stayed there to attend a Blue Jays game and to go to the Hockey Hall of Fame. Very close to Rogers Center. Our room was amazing. Upgraded to a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite. However, the breakfast was too crowded and they ran out of coffee?!?! The parking fee was excessive $47. You can park right down the street for $8.00. Overall, the staff was accommodating […] and the location was fantastic. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We would have given a higher rating if the pull out bed was more comfortable. We parked the car and walked everywhere.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The room was lovely!"
I can not say a bad thing about the room or location. We were in the heart of the theater district, could see the CN tower from our room and were walkable to many things (or at least to the subway stop!!) There were a few things that didn't pan out for us...the parking was full. Since check in is late (4pm) we went to Medieval Times first and checked […] in around 6:30. Since it was full we ended up parking in a covered garage right behind the hotel. It actually worked out to our benefit. The hotel charges more per day. We didn't need in and out. I chose this hotel specifically for the included breakfast. When we came down on Monday at 8:30 there was a line. Not enough seats for that sized hotel (I usually think people who post things like this are silly, but I looked at many otels in the same price range and chose it FOR this.) Also, there is only a "happy hour" on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Another reason I specifically chose the hotel. Great room, great location, the other things would have been a bonus! Room was fine, service was good, elevators were absolutely horrible. 5 sometimes 10 minutes to get one. Breakfast room is way too small for amount of guests. They could clean the hallways too!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Residence Inn Toronto Downtown / Entertainment District Dear David, during the busiest season of the year we understand the frustration of having to wait for elevators and breakfast. Any hotel located in the downtown area during this time is working diligently to ensure smooth operations with the additional demand due to the leisure travellers. We apologize for any inconvenience and do appreciate your comments, which we use to improve on the services we provide. Our team wants nothing more than to have our guests leave satisfied. Thank you for having stayed with us.

The say was superior; good-sized room. The breakfast buffet lacks; too many people in tight space and not enough staff to keep up with demand.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for catching a blue jays game"
Very nice and clean. Little pricey but everything downtown Toronto is a little bit high.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
GREAT LOCATION! The only fault I saw was the breakfast. I would recommend adding biscuits and gravy to the menu.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent access to the theater district"
I travel a lot with work and stay in hotels frequently (>100 nights per year). Sometimes I find rooms at discount rates and when that happens I find more often than not I am treated like "second class." Not in this case....the hotel staff was excellent and accommodating from the valets at the front door to the front desk personnel. The room was spotless. […] We were within 1 block of the theater district (our primary target) and plenty of good restaurants. The breakfast buffet in the morning was excellent as well. On a future trip to Toronto I would seek out and choose to stay at this location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to the CN tower and the lake, and subway"
We stayed 2 nights. It is a very nice hotel. We got the suit for a family of 4 people. It was perfect because we could use a kitchen equipped with a full size fridge, stove and even dishwasher including dishes, glasses and silverwear. Contemporary decorated(which we liked), spacious room. The only thing we didn't like it was too hot at night and for […] some reason when we set the furnice for 65F it kept blowing warm air. Lukely we could open the window. We chose a room with a king size bed and it was not enough room for 2 adults and 2 kids to sleep on. But there was a lounge couch available we could use. Breakfast was included and had lots of varieties. We also had a social hour every evening which was delicious one day but fair the next one. Kids enjoyed the pool, good size and clean. There was a shower for men and women right in the pool area, very convinient. We would recommend this hotel and would be glad to stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Friendly staff, good location"
Super nice staff willing to help you with anything. Lots of breakfast choices, but limited space to eat during popular times. Big, clean room. Very close to attractions and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Residence Inn Toronto Downtown / Entertainment District Thank you for the wonderful comments. We will definitely share them with our team. During busy breakfasts you can also take the items to the room. Enjoy your next stay with us.
"Roomy hotel, close to entertainment district."
I like staying in the Residence Inns as they provide more room than a regular hotel. This hotel was very good -- clean, comfortable with a very gracious staff. The valet parking was ridiculously priced, but there are cheaper lots very close to the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Excellent Downtown Hotel"
This was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. The service from the staff was exceptional and the suite was very clean and comfortable. Response by Residence Inn Toronto Downtown / Entertainment District Dear CABS, we are very happy you enjoyed your stay with us! Thank you for the great score and the recommendations!
Room was clean and updated. Breakfast is included but not outstanding. Only true complaint is limited number of elevators for 18+ floors. Staff should really use service elevator and the elevators (staff) should give guest first access. Note: elevators can be programed to improve service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Excellent! More than expected, big 2 room suite, warm pool, 1 block to Rogers Center. Great price, very expansive included breakfast. Awesome time for the whole family. DEFINITELY COMING HERE AGAIN for next trip. Only downside is parking is pricy, but what do you expect it's downtown, and it it right on sight or next door!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was very impressed with all aspects of the Residence Inn Marriott. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. Check in and check out was quick, rooms were spotless, breakfast was much more than the typical. All food was extremely high quality and healthy (scrambled egg whites as well as scrambled eggs, turkey & chicken sausage, fresh fruit, […] etc.) The hotel had just suffered a water main break a few days prior so they were limited to one elevator which was inconvenient but understandable. I would return and recommend to anyone. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel, terrible guests, so-so staff"
My room was absolutely great - very clean & comfortable. Due to some recent ice storms & broken pipes only one of the 3 elevators (and no stairwells) were in operation, so getting up to my room took a long time; but that was actively under repair. I was not impressed at all by the front desk staff, all of whom ignored me every time I approached to answer […] phones, deal with other people who came up after me, or just walked off into the office without a word. Additionally, the majority of other guests on a Saturday night seemed to be groups of very loud sloppy drunks (surprising in a 'business' hotel); once I was in my room there was no noise problem but crossing the lobby & riding the elevator alone actually felt a bit dangerous. "Time has passed this hotel by."
Worn and outdated. When we first entered our room it was hard to miss the worn and frayed carpet. Recliner chair was comfortable but had a rip in the upholstery. The "free" breakfast was terrible. Even worse was that the wait in line for breakfast was over 30 minutes most mornings of our stay. The door men were nice and accommodating, however the front […] desk staff were rude and not very helpful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Apart from the high parking fees, I only have good things to say about the hotel and staff. I will definitely be back. The hotel is in walking distance to just about everywhere. Great restaurants and entertainment nearby. The pool ,hot tub and exercise room were well maintained. Good breakfast included.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Air-freshener, cleaning products."
Everything was clean and comfortable. The only problem was with the cleaning products and/or air fresheners used. I have allergies to over powering scents. What ever products were used made me sneeze and wheeze. I had to keep the small window open to try to refresh the room. Milder or unscented products should be used.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel stay for one day in Toronto"
I loved it, except I reserved a One Bedroom King SUITE, it wasn't cheap and that wasn't an issue, BUT the bed in the other room which is a queen sleep couch pullout was AWFUL. Springs only. I really think they need to upgrade that portion of the bedroom suite and it would have garnered a complete ACES AAAAA+ for the stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Enjoyed this hotel except for the pullout sofa in the living room. Horrible mattress and just one blanket. Hotel should consider replacing the mattresses; the springs were right in my side all night. Otherwise the hotel was great, the breakfasts were good, and the bartender was friendly and service-oriented. Would return if I didn't have to sleep in […] the LR. :) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient and Comfortable"
My husband and I booked at this hotel because we had tickets to an event at the Air Canada Center. It was a quick 15 minute walk, great location for us. Close to lots of activities--hockey hall of fame, waterfront, Second City Comedy Club (a must see!), Rogers Center, fine restaurants, Gretzky restaurant, etc, etc. Comfortable with a nice breakfast. "Good place to stay!"
Hotel is in a great location, near several main areas and sights. 3 blocks from Rogers Center! Staff is outstanding and friendly! There is no restaurant, but they do serve a great breakfast as part of stay! They also have a little snack time near dinner hour 5-7 where you can get something to eat free as well. No bar/lounge but several near by. Gretzky's […] 1 block. Gabby's 2 blocks, decent spots eat/drink. Cora's a hot spot around corner for breakfast and lunch! We enjoyed our stay here room was decent. "Stayed here a year later, still great!"
I came to Canada for the first time last year for Fan Expo and stayed at this hotel based off of reviews. I had a great stay the last time, so I booked it again this year (again for Fan Expo 2013). Things are still as great as ever... The free daily breakfast is wonderful and has a variety of choices of hot and cold foods (fruit, eggs, oatmeal, muffins, […] toast, sausage, yogurt, etc) and beverages (tea, coffee, water, variety of juices, etc). The staff was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very clean. I once again had a room right by the elevator and again did not have any noise issues whatsoever. Free Wi-Fi was also a huge plus since I traveled from the U.S. It was fast and always worked in the room. In addition, the location is ideal, very close to Saint Andrew subway station and a ton of restaurants just 1 block up. I also walked from the hotel to the Eaton Center with no problem, but it is about a 15 minute walk. I can't say enough good things about this hotel, so I wanted to write another review due for my most recent stay. I highly recommend staying here. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Pricey but nice stay in Downtown Toronto"
Located in a very central area of Toronto, this hotel is far from fancy on the outside and lobby (basically there is no lobby). The rooms though are great, and so are the facilities (pool, fitness center). Overall not a bad stay at all, although we definitely payed for it. Elevator a bit old and very very slow.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is quiet and the staff is friendly. I've stayed here several times. My main challenge with this hotel is the air conditioning. My entire stay it was set to 65 degrees but the room never cooled below 74 or 75. I called maintenance, they brought a ladder and looked at it but no change. This happened on the past two occasions I have stayed at […] this hotel. If you want cool, summer comfort, I would be concerned. I ended up asking for a fan for my room. "Great location, beds need updating"
Our room on a lower level floor was very noisy. We heard dumpster emptied @ 2:30 am and a lot of street noise at 4:00 am. The sofa bed in our room was broken and the comforters and pillows were old and needed updating but the staff was accommodating and provided us with a roll away bed that was comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to everything but not nice."
I compare with Grand Hotel at which I stayed three months before, and at which the ROOM prices were the same as in the Residence Inn. Residence Inn has an advantage in being close to everything: you can walk to CN Tower, you have many options for dining on King street. However, if you want to come to a hotel with having a goal to stay at the hotel, […] the Grand Hotel beats Residence Inn by many reasons. In Residence Inn there is no restaurant, the swimming pool is not much interesting, no good cozy bar. Do not want to blame the hotel, may be I misunderstood the advertisement in Expedia, but I got an impression that the advertisement promised bathrobes in the room, which missed and the staff said they have never had them. There were no shampoo/conditioner/soap/lotion in the bathroom - I had to request them separately. The thing, which deserves to be mentioned separately - the valet parking is 40 dollars! Self-parking is not much cheaper (about 30, to my recollection) and it's a PAIN. To take your car, say, Sunday morning you should walk around the hotel, enter some code on the door lock and then walk several floors down to reach your car. I would advice you to say goodbye to your 40 dollars-per-night and still use the valet parking. Finally, it is OK, but for my style the Grand Hotel worked much better.
