"Suite 33 Madrid"
Great Location, near Plaza de España with subway station. 1 block from Gran Via. 5 min walking Plaza del Callao. Restaurants very close (Pizza, Spanish, Chinese etc) The room was a family room with sofa and two rooms. Very large, clean and new. The sofa was already opened and ready to sleep. This was my second stay this yearGenuine Hotels.com guest review
While the neighborhood is not the ritz, it is completely convenient to everything, pretty quiet at night and the hotel rooms are great!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Suite 33 Madrid--great for families"
We just got back from sunny Spain and I miss it already! We stayed in the family room at the hotel. We had a large bed and a decent sleeper sofa for my 11 year old twins. The bathroom was small but adequate. The kitchenette was OK but no pots or pans. The neighborhood was so- so. It is a great loocation for getting out and sight seeing but there was […] a "girlie" club several adresses up the hill that I was uncomfortable with since we had children with us. Hotel service was fine. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, nice location. Terrible beds / noise."
Great central location. Check in was simple and painless, front desk staff friendly and room was clean and well kept. The problem came in when it was time to go to sleep. We were in room 115 facing the main street and even though the windows were closed, we felt like we were sleeping on the street, both in terms of noise and bed comfort. This hotel […] had the worst beds on the planet. A block of 2x4s would have been more comfortable to sleep on. If you add in the street noise, I would take this hotel off the acceptable list. "Great hotel for the price"
Everything about the hotel is good for the price except for the neighborhood. There is a police station in the street just a few door away but also one night my wife & I came across a couple of women soliciting their services in that street one just across the police station!. I never felt scared walking this street even late at night and would probably […] go back there again since it was so close to so many activities, food and restaurants at walking distances. The room has very good size, the Internet is pretty fast and the location of the hotel is great. The hotel is 2 minutes walking from the Plaza Espana metro stop, so you can move around the city and back very easily. Overall, I recommend the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Just What I Need it"
Great location. Staff was very friendly and very accomodating, especially Justine at the front desk. This is a hotel that does not have any room service, bar o restaurant. It almost doesn't have a lobby. But, if you can live without that, it's a great place. What I really look for in a hotel is location, price, room confort and free WiFi. This one has […] it all. The rooms are also decent size, nice and clean. I will come back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Great service at the reception. Rooms are very spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet (we had an inside room). The location for the price you're paying is unbeatableGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A rare find for the money and location"
This is a small, cozy and well-maintained hotel. Located 60 yards away from the metro station, the hotel is 10 minutes walk from the Royal Palace. We booked a room for 4 people. Our room was actually a one-bed studio which had a separate sitting area with a sofa bed. The sitting area has a small kitchen equipped with sink, microwave, refrigirator and […] even cooking range (no utensils though). There is a asian grocery market right at the hotel's door step. Foods are inexpensive there compared to NY Chinatown. I also bought a power converter there for 2 euros. We will definitely go back to the hotel and recommend it to friends. Excellent on all levels.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not too bad"
Low pressure on the shower. Longest check-in process I have ever taken. Bed is rock hard. If you are fine with all that, the rest is great: big, clean rooms and a price quality relation hard to match in the center. Buffet breakfast was great too, and cheap.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent vallue in city centre"
I won't say how much I paid, but if it had been twice as much I'd have said it was good value and if it was three times I'd have said "well you get what you pay for". Great location just off Plaza de Espana, excellent staff, huge room (suite)Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location, good for families."
We stayed here last week (August 2013) with our two children, who are 4yrs and 10 months. We found the hotel to be perfect for us. The room is divided into two areas- the main bedroom, with desk, tv, chairs, and bathroom off, and the kitchen/lounge area, with a sofa bed, microwave, hob, fridge, and cupboards. The hotel provided a travel cot for our […] 10 month old, so she and our son slept in the lounge area in the cot and sofa bed. This meant us having the lights or tv on in our room didn't really disturb them. The room has air con and free wifi. There were no pots, pans, plates etc in the kitchen, but you could apparently ask reception for these. We really only used the fridge for drinks etc and bought stuff at the supermarket down the road. There were some scuff marks on one of the walls, and a small burn hole in one of the curtains, but otherwise the room was clean and tidy, as was the reception area. "Very good value hotel"
This is very good value for money - the room was very spacious and clean with really good facilities. Reception staff were always friendly and helpful. The hotel was ideally located in terms of its proximity to the main sites and metro links. It was down a street off the Grand Via and was close to a range of restaurants / cafes. We felt comfortable […] about walking through the area at night - there were always people around and a police station a couple of doors away !! We would return but would insist on a room at the back as it was noisy at night, particularly on the Friday when there seemed to be a constant stream of people passing by during the night. Overall a very good hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is an annex to a larger hotel a few doors up the road. The proximity to its "big sister" was useful. The location is the biggest plus: just off the main thoroughfare of central Madrid but still close to bars, cafes e.t.c. The street was quiet and this hotel will suit travellers wanting a quiet but convenient base in central Madrid,Genuine Expedia guest review

"Homely and friendly"
The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to provide information on how to get to key sites in and out of Madrid. The rooms were large and comfortable especially when staying with a family like I did. Breakfast at the sister hotel was a good value for money. This hotel is an excellent choice especially if you want to be able to eat in your room when you fell for it. The room has a good size, is very comfortable and very clean. "Excellent accommodation in central madrid"
Our room on the 5th floor (the top floor) at Suites 33 was brilliant. There was no view, but in its favour the bed room was very large had a huge bed, contained a well equipped kitchenette (microwave, hob, fridge, cupboards - but no cutlery, plates, saucepans etc) and was annexed to a lounge with sofa and tv. The bathroom had a bath, shower, toilet […] and bidet. The rooms were all exceptionally clean and well kept. We took cups and cutlery to make hot drinks but you could take more with you and cook basic meals. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful providing maps and recommendations and all speak English. There is somewhere to store bags after check out if you need it. The hotel is in between two metro stops each about 3-4 minutes away and it takes about 10 minutes down mainly pedestrian streets to get to the very centre of Madrid. The street itself could be quite loud so probably best to ask for a back room if you get disturbed easiliy. There is a chinese supermarket just next door and there are a number of small convenience stores nearby. This is an exceptional place for the price with all the comfort, space and quality you could ever want for a short stay/week long stay in Madrid. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Centraly located but weird neighboorhood"
Shame there is no tea and coffee making facilities, espacially when the hotel doesn't have a restaurant! Other than that the room was OK, they have air con, but hotel is noisy, you can hear all teh noise from the corridor. Reception is friendly, but the street is bit dirty, but greatly located just behind Grand Via, which is the main street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Madrid hotel - great location for sight seeing."
We stayed in Suites 33 in a family room for 2 nights in August 2011, very happy to find a hotel that would allow all 4 of our famiy stay together - chidren ages 11 and 13 with us. The location was superb! we were a 2 minute walk from Plaza Espana metro stop, and a 5 minute walk to tons of shopping/restaurants. We asked for a quiet room and it was very […] quiet. AC could have been a bit cooler consideriing it was 38 degrees outside, but we were comfortable, just slept with a sheet, no blankets. Overall, friendly front desk staff and perfect for sight seeing. "Amazing hotel in excellent location !"
This hotel is a great place to stay, it delivers great value and the kitchenette was a nice bonus. The people at reception are AMAZING they really do their most to help you out and can speak very good English. As for the rooms, they are large, clean and simple. The beds are a little firm but I found them comfortable enough. They could improve the air […] conditioning a bit as it does get warm at night and we prefer to sleep in cooler air. Overall its as good as it gets for a 3 star hotel. The location is excellent, its about a 3 minute walk to the Plaza Espana Metro which gets you anywhere in the city within about 10-15 minutes, plus youre already in walking distance to many sights such as Temple of Debod. If we ever come back to Madrid we will definitely come back here! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"stayed in hotel in two days we were in Madrid"
The hotel service was beyond expectation. For the price, I thought I would get some beaten up place just turned into a hotel. This was not the case. The staff was friendly, multilingual, and the rooms were as good as I have got in 5 star hotels in Southern France. We had a problem with our international electrical adaptor and the the staff did everything […] they could until we solved the problem. The rooms were comfortable. Not sure the air conditioning really went to the right degree, but it worked. So we were not burning up in the summer heat. We were very comfortable thermally. The street that it is on is a little spooky. There are several bars with questionable characters hanging out outside. But there is a police staition not 50 meters from the hotel on the same street with about 6 police cars outside all the time. So despite the seedy bars, we felt safe enough to even walk home from the center. Next time I go to Madrid, I will stay there. But one warning, it is a suite. You do have a kitchen. But , understandably, there are no pots and pans nor silverware. So don't expect to do your own cooking there. But then again, who expects that from a hotel from a hotel room. "Suites 33 - best service ever"
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. It is officially a 3-star but only because it doesn't have a restaurant. The reception staff were the friendliest reception staff I have ever encountered in any hotel and every member […] of staff was the same. "Comfortable hotel in great location"
This hotel is located near all the action in Madrid, about two blocks from a metro stop. Good mid-range hotel with spacious, clean modern room. "Good central location in Madrid"
Suites 33 is very centrally located only 2 minutes walk from the Plaza Espana. Despite the central location, it is in a quiet side street. We asked for and got a quiet room at the back of the hotel and we experienced no noise even on weekend nights when Madrid is at its busiest. The room was spacious, with a sleeping area, a kitchen area, a well fitted […] modern bathroom and an entrance hallway. The kitchen had a microwave, a fridge and a two ring electric cooker hob. However, there were no utensils provided. If you bring your own plastic cups, spoons and knives, and tea/coffee you will be OK. There are several mini-markets nearby where you can buy basics, including one next door to the hotel. The hotel seems to be in the Chinatown area so most shops are good for Chinese food, but a bit limited on more western things. A better mini-market is located just up the road toward Plaza Santo Domingo (out of hotel and turn right) about 3 minutes walk away, and for the best supermarket selection go another 3 minutes walk from Santo Domingo to Callao metro station where there is a very large department store – El Corte Ingles – which has a vast supermarket in its basement, with good value food and drink. There are numerous restaurants nearby. We enjoyed the Cafeteria Domingo, which is on Plaza Santa Domingo and had their “menu del dia”, which was excellent for 10 euro (or 11.50 euro at weekends). Three courses plus bread and wine or water, with about 6 choices for each course. The place was usually very busy with locals, which is always a good sign. They seem only to deal in full bottles of wine so if there are two of you ask for one wine and one water – this will result in a full bottle of wine with an additional bottle of water. The local tourist sites such as the Royal Palace, Plaza Major, Puerta del Sol, Cathedral etc are all within easy walking distance and it is a short metro ride to the Prado area – or walkable if you have 20 minutes to spare.
