Hotel was good. Could use some upgrades. Overall, the room was good and clean but the bed was not very comfortable. Staff was nice and helpful.

Nice hotel. Good rooms, good amenities, kept very clean. Neighborhood is both good and bad. Nice parts of St. Pete nearby, and crackheads and drunks walking by regularly also. Best part is the free shuttle at the hotel which takes one anywhere in downtown. Is definitely helpful as parking at the hotel is expensive. There is a breakfast buffet ($9.95) […] and a bar, but the bar was somehow closed on weekends. For those who like to dine and drink at the hotel, there wasn't much to offer, but lots of good restaurants and bars nearby. It was the first time we traveled with our infant daughter and it was overall a very enjoyable experience for us. Read more

The hotel was a bit the worse for the wear. The valet parking was inefficient. You had to wait up to 20 minutes to get your car! The room was fine--clean and relatively quiet even though mine faced a busy street. The staff was polite, but not overly helpful. I wouldn't go back.

We had an very nice stay at this hotel. It was located within walking distance to the Pier and to Tropicana Field. They also ran a shuttle service which made it even easier to get around. I would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to be in the heart of St Pete.

The accessible room was very convenient for my son who is in a wheelchair. The roll-in shower is great! Courtyard by Marriott always very accommadating to it's wheelchair guests.

I chose to book this hotel based on its proximity to the Pier. I usually read reviews first but it was a short notice trip and what a mistake! When we arrived the "valet" for the parking was nowhere to be found so we saved $12 and parked on the street. The hotel lobby is totally dated and staff seemed rather out of it when we checked in. The room was […] clean enough so we were hopeful for a good nights sleep but the airconditioning kicking on sounded like a jet engine and the walls are so thin we were kept awake by every passing car on the street and a 3:45am screaming match by our neighbors which we complained about to the front desk but nothing was done. Worst nights sleep ever! We were also given a card upon checkin listing the shuttle as coming every half hr. We went down to catch this shuttle with 10 min to spare only to find it just pulling away! Apparently that "schedule" is only during Rays games and we had to request the shuttle which wouldnt be back to get us for 20-30 min. We decided just to walk it and within 5 minutes i was absolutely terrified of the area we were in. Homeless people everywhere with one even peeing in the alley as we walked by!! We would definitely not reccomend anyone walk through that area if they can help it. I owe my boyfriend the biggest apology ever for blindly booking this horrible hotel for us! Read more

We enjoyed learning about the history of this hotel during our stay. The renovations have exposed some of the hotel's features from the past, so don't expect everything to appear as though it was manufactured last month. this hotel is an historic building which was renovated...the carpet in the halls was OLD and not attractive...the room was clean. However, one morning we had put up a do not disturb sign and when we took it down we expected that the room would be made up and linens changed etc., HOWEVER, upon our return in the afternoon, this was not the case....I still […] feel that we should be compensated in some way for our terrific inconvenience..what can you do about it??? Stayed for two nights. The check-in staff was very friendly and welcoming, as was the valet attendant. Our room was very clean and well maintained. The bathroom was large and modern--we were pleasantly surprised! The free wireless internet is a nice plus. The only problems we faced with the room was how LOUD the air conditioning unit was every time […] it clicked on. Also, the vent on the wall was aimed directly at the bed, so it was absolutely freezing every time the unit clicked on. On top of this, because this is a 1920's hotel renovated for Marriott, the walls between the rooms are VERY THIN, so sound from adjoining rooms really carries. We heard the television of guests in the room next to us until 2 AM the first evening of our stay, and their TV was back on again at 6 AM. Even my husband, who can sleep through anything, had difficulty falling asleep due to the noise. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Bed was very comfortable. We stayed for breakfast both days and enjoyed the custom made omelets and fresh fruit. The chef and waitstaff were very friendly. Many restaurants are nearby for other meals. The hotel parking is valet-only for $12 per day, which is a on the high side considering your car is parked in an open lot adjacent to the hotel (not a garage)...so it still sits vulnerable to rain, theft, etc. The cost really adds up if staying multiple nights. We had a good stay and would stay again, but would look for better deals first. Read more
