Our 1st stay at a B&B. Really quiet and good location. Every room was a different theme, all had private bathrooms. Owners bent over backwards to make us cormfortable and happy. Walking distance to many attractions and beach. Will definetly stay there again.

Old fashioned charm...just like Grandma's house...complete with angled ceilings and old home smell, but the ambiance of the newly remodeled rooms makes up with it's quaintness and charm. Since it was late August at the coast we expected it to be a bit chilly, but the weather was gorgeous. The temperature in the room was really warm. We had to open the window. But with that brings the noise from outside. Saturday night wasn't so bad but Sunday night/Monday morning was a bummer because the local services start work at 4am. Check-in is very late - 3pm-6pm. We had to bum around town until 3pm before we could get our room and relax before dinner. Kind of tough to do if you're driving all day. But, you can make arrangements to check in a different time. All in all not bad. They are many other B&B's in town so I would recommend calling direct to see if you can get a better deal than what's posted online. It'll save on fees for the owners and they might just give you a better deal. Read more

The room was a little small and so was the bathroom so I would make reservations sooner next time and pick one of the bigger rooms and bathrooms. We arrived early because we were using the B&B as a meeting point with our friends. We knew we could not check in yet. The proprietor did not introduce herself and seemed very put out when we asked to use the restroom. She almost denied its use to us. She discouraged us from driving to the Redwoods because of the distance which was the sole reason we […] were there. We went anyway and it was great and we had plenty of time to get there and back before it got dark. The room was basic with a 12" TV and no alarm clock/radio to help us get up in the a.m. for breakfast. You could barely see the tv picture when in bed. The breakfast was ok. Nothing real special. The proprietor stayed in the kitchen behind a closed door and did not mingle with her guests which I felt she should do. We paid the most for this room of any of the places we stayed on our 19 day trip which included ocean front views and plush bedding. Expected more bang for our buck! Read more

This is a very nice, comfortable place to stay in Ft. Bragg. There are 2 houses connected by a garden atrium sitting area. One house has 4 rooms upstairs and a living/sitting area, dining room, kitchen, and office downstairs. They always served fruit, yogurt, toast, pastry, and coffee. There is ample parking (a large lot behind the house plus street) and the location gives easy access to Ft. It was great staying there. The buttercup room is really cute. The owner is very friendly and helpful and the brakfast (egg soufflé, banana bread, fruit salad). Also it is only a 5 minute walk to glass beach.

Unfortunately, the overworked owner (no other staff) made my guest experience feel like I was always putting her out. She should either hire some wait staff or let the guests help themselves at mealtimes as has been my experience at other more homey B&B's. It was close to a great brewery, close to the shops and beach, and a short drive to the gardens and Lighthouse. The ladies running the hotel were welcoming, helpful, and warm. Stayed in the Buttercup room and had a wonderful stay. The bed was very comfortable and the room was cozy. The owner was super friendly, offering suggestions for dinner and a great breakfast the next morning. I was a big fan of the atrium between the breakfast room and our room; there were fresh herbs, flowers, and nice places to sit and relax.

Good points about B&B was that the owners were extremely nice and tried to make our stay a good one, the owners also make a great hot breakfast. Since you are right on the main highway that runs through town, there is quite a bit of noise. This B&B is in need of some updates, but overall the stay was fine.

Do not be put off by the slightly tired appearance outside. The welcome is wonderful and Gail attends to every need. A welcome drink and cookies after a long drive was great. Good breakfast to send us on our way. All menues for dinner venues are available to view. Would recommend this b and b.
