"Unexpected quality for price and location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The hotel's own website seems to understate its excellent location, as it has an opening into the main street of Sorrento just a short walk from the main square. It is within walking distance of the scenic old mill, the train station, the marina (with its outstanding seafood restaurants) and its stunning views of the bay of Naples and the hillside villas and hotels of Sorrento. The staff was very accommodating to our special needs, allowing us to leave our luggage and to use its restroom facilities even after we had checked out. Also, the price of the rooms was reasonable. Our party did not take the advice of the female night clerk who recommended that we eat at the restaurant next door; instead, we ate at Ristorante Delfino at the marina (which I also highly recommend).

"Near train Station and Walking distance to Sights"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Very happy with Hotel Sorrento City. Staff spoke excellent English and were extremely helpful. Room was very comfortable with the only drawback being the TV in the room had only one Engligh speaking channel (MTV...ugh). Excellent location and easy to find right on the main street near the train station. Very good breakfast and free Wi-Fi included which worked very well in the room. Highly recommend Hotel Sorrento City.
"Should be a six star close to Air Port"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 3, 2012
We were going back to Charlotte NC. From the moment tbat we steped into the lobby area, We were greeted, taken care of. The hotel management to the person that carried our baggage to our room I felt that I was coming back to friends. I will stay at this hotel when ever I am in Naples. It was an outstanding short stay. What a palace.

This small town is wonderfully located over white steep cliffs and offers a fantastic view over the Bay of Naples. Typical products from Sorrento are produced with these Limoni: Limoncello, a very tasty lemon liqueur, lemon chocolate, colorful ceramic articles with lemon motives, or lemon soap. Or, try more than 70 different ice cream flavors at Gelateria Bougainvillea.

Beautiful location overlooking Sorrento. Cute little bungalow/chalet to stay in. Staff is friendly but now very forthcoming with information. You need to ask specific questions or you will find things out days later than you need the information.
"camp site"
this place is great if your on a budget. the staff is amazing. they helped us numerous times. even after we moved to a different place (where no one spoke english) we walked down the rode to ask them questions and they were more than helpful
"Campsite with tiny cabins"
This is basically a campsite with some tiny cabins. We (2 adults, 2 children) shared a cabin for two nights as part of a touring holiday and found the cabin to be cramped and poorly maintained. Although it had been cleaned on arrival we found that many of the floor tiles in the tiny bathroom / shower were badly cracked and uneven which caused big […] puddles and prevented water from running down the drain after taking a shower. The swimming pool was overcrowded (and a charge is implemented for entry from 8th August) and there were frequent loud activities in the pool, such as aqua-gym, which meant that children were unwelcome or relegated to the deep end. The place was vastly overpriced for what it was, but hotels in this area are even more overpriced. On the plus side the staff were helpful on arrival, the setting (mixed woodland) was super as were the views over the bay. The restaurant was surprisingly good and reasonably priced for Italy. The campsite shop was quite well stocked with essentials but overpriced. Read more
"Santafortunata Campogaio"
We stayed in one of the wooden cabins and it was fine and other reviews sum it up ok. But here are a couple of HINTS. There is a 10 Euro coach direct from Naples Airport to Sorrento which goes from right outside airport exit. It goes every 90 minutes but the last one was at 7.00 pm when we were there. The instructions say you can catch an Line A bus […] from behind Sorrento station but in the dark with heavy bags we couldn't find the stop. So we paid £20 for a taxi. What you need to do is come out of station and turn left and follow the narrow road which curves left with walls on either side till it filters into the main road (about 3mins walk) then keep going ahead (don't cross main road) for a couple of minutes past some grass and trees until you see some seats on your left. Bus stop is nearby. Look for pole with timetable board. Driver will know Santafortunata Campogaio if you want to check with him you are on right bus and ask him to tell you where to get off. BUT you need a 45 min ticket 2.4 E or good value 24hr ticked 7.20 E from any newsagent shop, there's one in station entrance, before you board as driver won't take money. You validate ticket in machine in bus when you board. 24 hour tickets are good value they will take you right along the fantastic Amalfi coast road - Positano is well worth a visit.- and the ticket will save you the slightly scary walk to site on pavement less road. Validate ticked only once when you first us it. The 24hr ticket also allows you free use of the sightseeing bus to Ravello or to Maiori one way only, use the ordinary bus back . If you are over 65 take proof of age to get reductions at Herculaneum and Pompeii ? . There is a good walk from campsite to Marina Puolo and to the Capo. You can also walk to Massa Lubrense go via Marina Puolo but some pavement less roads are involved I believe, but didn't confirm it myself, that f you have the 24 hour bus ticket I heard this also covers the bus from Pompeii station to Vesuvius which Read more
"great budget stay"
This is a camping and beach hut resort. The setting is great and for the price no one could complain. Staff were very friendly, food and drink very reasonable in the pizzaria and the views over the coast fab. Walk not too far to Sorrento but first part no pavement so a bit scary. We were early season so it was nice and quiet but can imagine it will […] get busy in high season. Read more

Tout était bien Read more
