no shower, just a tub and an attachment. Beds were hard as a rock, and cleaning service was very loud, very early in the morning, so we could never sleep in. Internet was not free but front desk staff was friendly and provided a few complimentary codes. Also breakfast wasnt very good

The room was very odd. About half of the room was the bathroom. There were 2 twin beds that were right angles to each other because there wasn't room any other way. The main person at the desk was always on personal cell calls when I came down and was annoyed to have to put the phone down to deal with me. It was mainly booked as a convenient place to stay before departing by train the following morning for a ski holiday in the Italian Alps. It is very convenient to Milan's main train station (just across the street). Clean, comfortable rooms, moderately-priced for Milan, with a decent breakfast buffet included. The area itself is not terribly interesting or desirable and try to steer clear of any of the eating establishments nearby as I had a god-awful pizza at a pizzeria ("god-awful" pizza in Italy???). The location is perfect, you just cross the main street and go a few more feet from there and you're at your hotel. The staff was nice and helpful and the only real criticism I have is the wifi rates are ridiculously hi.

This hotel is highly recommendable! I had my doubts after reading the comments, but I didn't experience any of the problems that others have. There are no air condition though. Good balance between cost and comfort. It's a short walk from the central station, where you are 4 stops from Duomo. The rooms are not modern, but they are clean. The staff is helpful and they all speak English. The laundry service is ultra expensive but there is a coin laundry nearby you can look up on google. We were very disappointed with our stay at the New York Hotel for three basic reasons. Number one, management refused to turn on the air conditioner in early June when the room temperature reached 84 degrees at 10:00 PM. For two nights we suffered and could hardly sleep. Number two, they did not have satellite TV as claimed. They only had about ten […] local Italian channels. Lastly, the building was undergoing renovations and our city view was blocked by scaffolding and large blue tarps. Consequently we could not even get the evening breeze into our over heated room. This also meant that they woke us up at around 6:00 each morning with their giant hammers and pounding. They also did not have a refrigerator in the room as claimed on the Hotels.com website. Otherwise the location was great, only two blocks from the train station and the Metro. But because of these problems, we would never book the New York Hotel again and I would recommend that you stay away from this place. Read more

The only great thing about this hotel, was the location. We were in Milan for only one day so it was perfect to be so close to the train station. Otherwise, there was no AC in a hot day in Milan and it was not a very nice hotel.

We only found one good thing about Hotel New York in Milan Italy and that was it was located in a very convenient location if you are traveling by train. Upon enterance to our room we found the carpet less than acceptable, cob webs in the corners along with spiders and other creepy crawling things. The hotel is very convenient and one feels very safe in the neighborhood. If you are also looking to make Milan your launch point for day trips in Milan or out to Venice, Lake Como or Florence, it's a great spot as it is very close to the centrail train station and subway.

Hotel was probably in one of the best locations in Milan because of it's proximity to the Stazione Centrale (Central Station) and the underground trains. Our room was decently sized as was the bathroom. We had a very large patio balcony. The beds were comfortable. The hotel staff was very friendly. They gave us a map with directions and restaurant recommendations. Right next to the Centrale metro stop and across the street from the train station.
