This is the place to go if fabulously charming and quirky surroundings are more important than streamlined services. The old port location is perfect except for an unfortunate gathering of noisy street people underneath my window (obviously out of the hotel's control).

Staff is amazing. Easy to talk to even if you don't speak good French. Be sure to call ahead if you're arriving late as they lock the doors and may be hard to reach. You can easily walk from the Champ de Mars metro stop to this hotel. Then from the hotel you can reach anything in Vieux Montreal by foot.

What a delightful stay. Our room was fabulous -- spacious, great shower, fun period decor. The breakfasts were perfect -- hearty but not too heavy. Dinner in the restaurant was oustanding. The staff were helpful and attentive in a low-key way, which we liked. And right in the heart of the old port. Couldn't recommend it more strongly.

The ambiance of this hotel is difficult to beat. It's called a hotel, but it's really more of a B&B. The staff knew my name the entire time and treated me very well. The room felt as though I was stepping back in time. I will definitely come back. Great location, great atmosphere, great breakfast..loved it.

We booked this place because we loved its look. We were just as impressed when we got here. The staff were fantastic and friendly, the rooms were authentic and beautiful, and the food was amazing. When it said "breakfast included", I thought it would be like a continental breakfast with cereal and toast. Instead we got a full breakfast with bacon/ham/sausage, […] eggs, toast, and fruit salad. The location was perfect. You're a minutes walk away from the pier, assorted types of dining, and shopping. In the 5 days we were there, we only took a cab once to reach one place we wanted to visit. We enjoyed our stay at Pierre du Calvert , the staff are very attentive and the ambiance was amazing. Our room was furnished with beautiful antiques , with a view of old Montreal. One small item - worn out towels were not up to the standard of such a delux property. We will certainly return!

We had a fabulous time at the hotel. It was nice and close to the show we went to see, the room was perfect and the restaurant was simply amazing. A+++++ rating for sure. Anyone visiting Montreal should spend at least one night there. We will be back again for sure.

This is a beautiful old hotel with an abundance of character, I'm not sure the decor would suit all tastes but it certainly is an experience. The staff were very friendly and the location is perfect, it's on a very quiet street but right on top of Old Town Montreal.

My husband and I stayed at Pierre du Calvet, after booking online at the last minute. We were thrilled with our choice. The place was filled with character. A beautiful 1725 limestone builing in the heart of Old Montreal. It was walking distance to everything and had free parking. There were only 9 rooms at this hotel. . We really felt as if we were […] staying in someone's grand home in Europe. The service was wonderful and the staff very friendly despite my husband's and my very poor French. Our bedroom was very elaborate with an ornately carved canopy bed and armoire. The ceilings were exposed beams and the walls exposed stone. The only improvement I could suggest might be more luxurious bedding (better quality sheets, mattress and pillows) that would match the rest of the wonderful ambiance. We also loved hearing the birds from the Victorian greenhouse as we sat and dined. We were pleasantly surprised that a full breakfast was served, not just continental , and was included with a stay at this hotel. We would definitely book a stay at the Pierre du Calvet again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a character place with charm in a prime location of Old Montreal. Read more

If you can carry your luggage by hand up 4 flights with no elevator this is a cool place to say, if not there are staff to help but you still have to haul yourself up and down the stairs every am and pm. La propreté des chambres est correcte, certain ont dit que les chambres étaient poussiéreuses mais c'était un peu exagéré. Certes y'a un peu de poussière mais quand on regarde tous les recoins des meubles c'est normal ! C'est surtout que ca sent le vieux ! Ca sent les vieilles maisons qui ont vécus et ca c'est génial ! Ca nous met dans l'ambiance tout […] de suite. Le mobilier est superbe et la terrasse est vraiment magnifique ! Le service est très bon aussi. Pour les repas, je vous conseillerais plutôt de sortir car les restaurants autour sont plus intéressants. Le seul bémol vraiment c'est qu'on possédait une chambre à l'étage et un autre couple d'ami avait une chambre au rez de chaussée. Celle à l'étage était très très chaude en été et surtout la cheminé ne pouvait pas s'éteindre, mais juste se baisser à fond. Du coup on a eu très chaud. Par contre nos amis qui avait une chambre au rez de chaussée (la 1) était très bien ! Voila ! En somme à conseiller pour 1 nuit ou 2 pour l'expérience du lieu !! Read more

Nous avons passé un séjour magnifique. Nous étions transporté dans une autre époque. Le romantisme était au rendez-vous dans cette demeure ancienne. J'ai adoré entendre le chant des oiseaux exotiques durant le repas, jolie ambiance. Il est certain que nous y retournerons. Bravo
