This hotel is one of the most comfortable and lovely one in which I've stayed. The breakfast was lovely and delicious, the courtyard, a charming place to sit and enjoy the meals, and the overall service was excellent. Excellent hotel, good service and amenities. Only one negative was that the air conditioner temperature was not adjustable. Temperature locked at 21 degrees, too cold. Called maintenance and told that it was not possible to correct so I just had to turn it on when hot and off when cold. Not satisfactory but otherwise an excellent hotel.

In general the hotel is good. The location is great, the common areas are pleasant and clean, and the staff is helpful and courteous. The problem lies with the rooms. They are simply dreadful. In the last years I have stayed in many of the top hotels in Dubai. Al Manzil is an excellent (also value) choice close to Dubai Mall and the attractions around Burj Kalifa. Al Manzil is not comparable to the huge 5 star hotels nearby. More intimate not so opulent. In my opinion the only possible down is the relatively small swimming pool. The staff at the hotel were extra nice and helpful the entire time. We loved the location across the street from the Dubai Mall, and there was not as much traffic either in that area. The Hotel/staff were absolutely great. How this place does not rate a full 5 stars is beyond me. The property is right across the street from the Dubai Mall, and the Burj Khalifa. This is a lovely hotel (to which we've returned on several occasions). It is attractive, on a nice scale (medium-sized and not a skyscraper), great staff, use of a large fitness club, etc. The ONE issue is "structural," literally: the bathrooms are "open," which means that while you're at the sink brushing your teeth, your "roommate" is right there, […] at the desk, on the bed, etc. Of course there are stalls for the shower and toilet, but again, one steps out "into the room." I have been staying at Al Manzil since it first opened in 2007 ona regular basis and have on each occasion found it to be excellent in every regard. Although a little expensive, its very much, "you get what you pay for" and in Dubai terms you get superiour service, very comfortable rooms, a good selection of restuarants and bars (try a Shisha in the […] Courtyard in the evening) Arabic architecture and finally a great and extremely convenient location (it's a 5 min walk to The Dubai Mall) Irrespective of the time of day or night, there are always a continious supply of taxis waiting outside. The Metro station is approximately a 10 min walk towards the Burj Kalifa tower. One word of caution, this is not a hotel where a room could be shared by two relative strangers. The reason being that rooms are designed with the bathroom being integrated into the actual room,so if you value your bathroom privacy, then this is not for you ! However, as a single traveller, or a couple that know one another extremely well, then this ticks all the boxes. I will continue to stay there whenever I can. Read more

The Al Manzil Hotel is located within close walking distance (even for a 6-month pregnant woman in 45 degree temperatures!) to the Dubai Mall, with its cool aquarium/zoo and cinema. It also has the Burj Khalifa (the really really really tall building) within close proximity. The basic room I stayed in was clean, comfortable and unique. Yes, the bathtub […] is in the middle of the room, and the TV rotates so you can watch from the bed or from the tub! The shower and toilet have separate areas behind closed doors. There is a small desk that came complete with free Internet (which can be very costly at other hotels). Nice bed, nice linens, nice pillows. I slept very well. I was there during Ramadan, so I had room service on several occasions - grilled hammour, chicken sandwich, chocolate ice cream, peach smoothie. Each time, it was excellent. Free coffee and tea service, free bottled water, and there is a minimally stocked mini-bar in the room with a fridge. The breakfast was not included with my room price, so I splurged and indulged - it was fine. Made to order omelets, a small buffet, fresh breads, cereals, fruit, french toast and waffles, juices and coffee/tea. Nothing really to complain about, but not an all out experience as I've seen at the Grosvenor House. There are a few restaurants associated with the hotel, but I did not get a chance to try them. All in all I thought it was a great place to stay, especially for the price. My one recommendation would be to include breakfast with the room price. I am returning to Dubai in September 2010, and my husband and I will definitely stay at the Al Manzil! Read more

As many other travelers have noted, this hotel is great value for money. It is very centrally located right next to the Dubai Mall. It is comfortable and provides good, attentive service. The staff was very helpful throughout my stay. For example, when I arrived at the hotel in a taxi, the taxi driver refused to give me back a fairly substantial amount […] of change, claiming that he had no change. The staff member told me that I should proceed to check in, and he would take care of it. And he did. The rooms are comfortable, although there are some signs of tear and wear. Many travelers have noted the open bathroom. The shower stall glass is actually tinted. So you can shower with some privacy if you are not traveling with a significant other. I usually try to avoid international chain hotels when I travel, as they all tend to be the same. But I have had some bad experiences in other countries. The Al-Manzil was a pleasant experience.
