Al Manzil Downtown Dubai

The Al Manzil Hotel is located within close walking distance (even for a 6-month pregnant woman in 45 degree temperatures!) to the Dubai Mall, with its cool aquarium/zoo and cinema. It also has the Burj Khalifa (the really really really tall building) within close proximity. The basic room I stayed in was clean, comfortable and unique. Yes, the bathtub […] is in the middle of the room, and the TV rotates so you can watch from the bed or from the tub! The shower and toilet have separate areas behind closed doors. There is a small desk that came complete with free Internet (which can be very costly at other hotels). Nice bed, nice linens, nice pillows. I slept very well. I was there during Ramadan, so I had room service on several occasions - grilled hammour, chicken sandwich, chocolate ice cream, peach smoothie. Each time, it was excellent. Free coffee and tea service, free bottled water, and there is a minimally stocked mini-bar in the room with a fridge. The breakfast was not included with my room price, so I splurged and indulged - it was fine. Made to order omelets, a small buffet, fresh breads, cereals, fruit, french toast and waffles, juices and coffee/tea. Nothing really to complain about, but not an all out experience as I've seen at the Grosvenor House. There are a few restaurants associated with the hotel, but I did not get a chance to try them. All in all I thought it was a great place to stay, especially for the price. My one recommendation would be to include breakfast with the room price. I am returning to Dubai in September 2010, and my husband and I will definitely stay at the Al Manzil! Read more

Many travelers have noted the open bathroom. The shower stall glass is actually tinted. So you can shower with some privacy if you are not traveling with a significant other. I usually try to avoid international chain hotels when I travel, as they all tend to be the same. But I have had some bad experiences in other countries. The Al-Manzil was a pleasant experience. Beautiful hotel and good service, but be aware the rooms are open plan which means there is no seperate bathrrom. Bath is in the middle of the room, with shower and toilet having frosted glass doors. I've stayed here before so knew what to expect. Good service, good food, accessible to anywhere and everywhere. Get a burj facing room, you can even see parts of the fountain! The room was very clean but slightly musky and on this occasion the tv wasn't very clear for some reason, I'm sure the hotelmwouldhave sorted it out but we didn't really need […] it. This hotel although 4 star felt like a 5 star resort. Stepping inside staff greet you with smiles and offer you a wet towel and chilled refreshment when checking in at reception. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Al Manzil Hotel and would have no hesitation in recommending it to all travellers. All staff were friendly, polite and very attentive including Robert who checked us in and arranged for the hotel car to take us around Dubai. Great Hotel just a 5 minute walk to the Dubai Mall. We only stayed for a two night stop over and whilst we booked a room with a king bed the room was not available on our arrival, however they advised that they would move us the next day, which they did without fuss. The rooms are set out a bit different as there is no wall dividing the bathroom from the bedroom. Clear glass around the bath and frosted glass around the shower and toilet nothng else. Only issue would be if you are in the shower and someone comes to the door they may be able to see your shadow from the door. Other than that we could not fault our room or the service. We did have breakfast at the hotel which had a good selection, unfortunately the hot food items, such as baked beans, mushrooms and sausages etc. were cold, except for the eggs which were cooked as requested. Free WiFi was a bonus which worked well during our stay. The Swimming pool was also clean and the pool attendant was also courteous and helpful. We enjoyed our stop over and If you are looking for a nice hotel for a quick stop over in Dubai then we would recommend this hotel as it should should meet your needs. After staying in cramped hotels throughout Europe it was a surprise and pleasure to have two luxurious nights in the al Manzil. Our room overlooked the Burj (the highest building in the world) and was only 10 minutes stoll to the Dubai Mall through airconditioned and lovely buildings. The Mall is a modern day marvel and should not be missed. There are […] constant flows of taxis at the hotel if you want to go to other parts of Dubai. The room was large, immaculate and serviced constantly. The reception staff were the best we have ever encountered in any country in the world. The food is outstanding and the pool a wonderful place to relax in at night. Had we known how marvellous Dubai was we would have cut short our time in filthy Italy. “Great Hotel-Great Staff-Great Location” Stayed here for 2 nights in June and 4 nights in July This is our fourth stay at this hotel and wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Dubai. The front desk staff is so welcoming which is fantastic after a long flight, in fact all the staff are attentive, helpful and friendly... The hotel is modern traditional in style, […] has a lovely courtyard where one can smoke shisha if one wants. Breakfast is excellent as is dinner and there is a small souk attached that has a supermarket. The rooms are large, nicely decorated with great bedding and are immaculate. The bathroom is part of the bedroom with the bath surrounded with clear glass, but the stand alone shower and toilet in enclosed with frosted glass which gives one privacy. The hotel has a large business centre. The location is excellent and if you walk in the evening to the Dubai Mall which is a ten minute walk, you pass many lit palm trees on the street, and then walk through a beautiful souk, to the dancing fountains with the Burj Khalifa towering above, then to the mall. Booked this hotel as a one day stop-over for our outbound trip to the US and return back home to Australia. We were there in late May 2012 and early July 2012. Great hotel, short trip from airport, taxi not expensive. Service was great. Our second stay in particular as our flight arrived into Dubai at 8am. Check-in was not till after 12pm but the hotel […] offered us a place to shower and freshen up if we wished while we waited. Now that is service. On both occasions at check-in we were offered a fruit juice and refresher towel. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Complementary wi-fi and bottled water, something that many expensive hotels in the US did not offer. Buffet breakfast was include in our reservation and was fabulous. As for location it was fantastic as it was walking distance to the Dubai shopping mall where we were able to enjoy some local life and meals. Excellent hotel very helpful staff and great facilities. The only small complaint was when checking in early in the morning they had no non smoking room available, but they did say one would be available later on. I took a smoking room instead which was ok but you could smell a slight smoke odour in the room. But would definitely stay here again.
