Best Western Citadel Hotel - Special Class - Istanbul

Very friendly but the only thing I dint like about the room is in winters they don't hv cooling facility in aircons. Also rooms were a bit small. Not sure how the rooms usually are in other hotels there. But otherwise a nice experience and also the sea view was amazing.

The Hotel is ok there is two thing to mantion a) The room's are very small there no space to sutcase's, if you put two sutcase's you can'nt move.b) There is no eliveter in the hotel our room was in 3rd floor now you think how much trovel we had face, we were six person had 12 sutcae's and our room number was 308.309.310 and it was way from main entrance. The room was VERY SMALL. For 3 people it had a double bed, a twin bed, a desk, another small desk and 2 nightstands. With all the furniture in such a small room you could hardly navigate around it. Beautiful inside and out, extremely well maintained. Great room, WiFi in room worked perfectly, english stations on the tv. Great on-site cafe, great breakfast every morning. A nice hotel located overlooking the sea and a short but quite steep walk to city centre . Rooms are clean and comfortable but of a small size, but not a problem since we didn't spend too much time in it as we were out exploring the city! We stayed at the hotel from 22 - 26 Oct 2011. The hotel is in a lovely location, right on the sea front. We were given a sea view room with a balcony. The hotel has 2 restaurants that serve nice food. Breakfast is good and serves the local turkish cuisine along with the usual english breakfast of eggs made to your request. The only bug bear for my family […] and I were the quality of the beds we slept on - seriously, they were rock hard and as it is I already suffer from back pain. We were given a sofa bed and even this was rock hard (I asked an american couple about the mattresses in their room and got the same answer as I thought maybe it was only us who had the hard beds!). My husband and I like to be able to spend time in hotel rooms we book - this was not one of them due to the beds! However, I have to say that the room service food that was delivered to our door was lovely and well worth it. The hotel is conveniently located to all the sites, we only had to walk 5 mins up the road to see the blue mosque, aya sophia and a little bit further was the grand bazaar. Read more

On arrival I wanted to see our allocated room first; all top floor rooms are tiny and 'smoking' rooms; I asked to see another room: all rooms on the front are on the main 'autobahn' from the airport to the city centre - v. noisy (though overlooking the Sea of Marmara); I chose a room on the third floor to the back (it was at least quiet). In the night […] the 'air con' was noisy and pumped out warm & cigarette smoke air; we moved room at midnight. On arrival: check your room. All (double) rooms are tiny. The saving grace are wonderfully friendly front desk staff. The breakfast is excellent and so are lunches (two for price of one). Alcohol is v. expensive.
