"Check for large groups of school children staying!"
08/06/15 Laura S London, United Kingdom
The hotel itself is perfectly adequate, the rooms are clean and the cleaning staff did an excellent job every day. The rooms have all of the basics (apart from tea and coffee making facilities) but overall the hotel is rather shabby and run down, the lift was broken during our entire week's stay and the lamp and TV were also broken in our room. The pool area is clean but the pool is not very large and a lot of the chairs and parasols were broken. It was also certainly not big enough to accommodate the 80 Italian school children who arrived the day after we did! It soon became apparent that the hotel regularly accepts these huge school group bookings throughout the summer. We were incredibly disappointed when we discovered this as we purposely chose the hotel for its quiet location. To be fair, most of the time the children were kept apart from the other guests with separate dining facilities and a separate wing of rooms but when they were at the pool (which was daily) it was incredibly noisy and impossible to get a sun lounger. After struggling with our travel agency to see if we could be moved we decided to just avoid the pool area when the children were there and went to the beach instead which is very nice and not too much of a bother because the hotel runs a free shuttle bus service to and from the beach every morning departing at 9.30am and returning at 1pm. The hotel is situated within 5 minutes walk of a large supermarket which was very handy to buy lunch and dinner from as we had only paid for bed and breakfast. The rooms have a mini fridge so some days we bought cheese, meat and salad bits to make sandwiches and stored them in our room. Next to the supermarket are several nice restaurants/bars. The Mai Tai bar offer exceptionally good cocktails and the staff are very nice! We also took the local bus 10 minutes down the road east and had dinner at a restaurant called the Clipper which did excellent sea food. The breakfast in the hotel is buffet style and is typically what you would expect, including cereal, yoghurts, cheese, meat, cake, pastries, coffee and tea which was all perfectly nice. We only ate in the hotel restaurant for dinner once as we preferred to go out and try the local restaurants but the meal was very nice and they offer a set menu which offers 3 courses and a bottle of wine for 20 Euros each. The bus stop into Cagliari is situated right outside the hotel entrance and it is a 40 minute bus ride into the centre but well worth a visit despite the distance. You can also take this bus to the beach which takes about 15 minutes. I would recommend buying your bus tickets from the newspaper/magazine stall located next to the supermarket first as we were told it was cheaper than buying them on the bus. To summarise, the hotel is perfectly fine if you are happy with the basics and it was lovely and quiet (before the children arrived!). We were disappointed that the hotel made no mentioned of these large school parties on their website during the summer months and so I would strongly advise you to check first that there aren't any large party bookings if you want a quiet break!

"Good hotel"

Very nice hotel, 10 min. drive to a lovely clean beach with restaurants. Nice not too big swimmingpool with all sorts of chairs. Our room had a fantastic vieuw. Badroom was great with bath (shower), toilet and bidet (not to wash your feet in!!!). Staff was fantastic, especially Leno (bar, for my campari soda and our late cappuchino and cognac!!). Also our friend Massimo who helped us with our first Italian lessons!! And who gave my a proffessional corksrew (ours broke down!). Many thanks for everything!! We had a great holliday!! And not forget our cleaninglady who cleaned our room every day (perfectly, many thanks, we never saw here). Kind regards Tina and Raymond from Holland.

"Quiet hotel"

Is cheap and confortable but is not the best hotel. It is not 4 stars, maximum 3. Rooms not so big and small and old tv. Furnitures are old. They have bus service to closest beach. Also big parking very easy to park. Not so close to Cagliary center or to beach, you need car or bus.

"Tired and remote"
08/02/14 Barbara A Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
The price of this hotel made it attractive to me. Upon arrival I understood why it was so cheap! The area is very remote which in fairness it does say on their website. You definitely need a car here or (like us) will spend lot on taxis. It is approx €25 one way to any decent restaurants. There are none in the proximity of the hotel so we ventured out most evenings. We did not hire a car because we like to have a drink with our meal in the evening. We moved rooms after one night because we wanted a bigger room, for an extra €20 a night we upgraded to a room with a kitchenette and. Separate bedroom. This was definitely worth the extra. As mentioned in other reviews the shower is a joke and after every shower the bathroom is completely flooded. We tried to fix this but gave up and coped with mopping up every night! The lack of WiFi in the room was a Nuisance, it is only available in Reception area. The pool is not well maintained, the tiles above the water level are very greasy and dirty, the filter is virtually non existent and on one occasion we had a problem with the chlorine crystals sitting on the floor of the water. We informed reception of this problem in the morning but the hotel staff had still not cleaned them resulting in me having a skin irritation. Once we contacted the manger to advise the problem he arranged for the pool to be cleaned. This is a hotel that would benefit from having entertainment because currently there is absolutely no entertainment in the hotel. The sitting area of the bar overlooks the car park! There is no pool bar or food available for snacks, lunch Etc unless you wish to go into the restaurant for a proper meal. It is such a shame because there is so much potential for this hotel to improve. Some of the staff made our stay enjoyable with their help. Particularly Erica behind the reception. Gianluca behind the bar has a wealth of knowledge and contacts. His cousin took us out on a fantastic boat trip which was the highlight of our holiday and incredibly good value for money. Overall if you wish to stay here as a base for travels it is fine. Other than that It might not suit you!

"4 stars? Four fallen stars from the 1960s!"
04/23/14 esser Bruges, Belgium
Our room on the top floor was clean but was smelling like sewage, or rather rotting cadavers. It was impossible to stay there with closed windows. Our neighbors told us the same story. The wine was served in open bottles without labels at the very basic dinner. It was barely drinkable. Three out of ten bottles of white wine on the tables of our group even were cloudy. We returned them and asked for the wine list but they didn't have any and there was no other wine available. The breakfast consisted only of croissants and pastries filled with jam. No cheese, no ham, nothing else. So the second day we bought wine and cheese in the supermarket. However, on this second evening, a group of about 100 children between 8 and 16 years old was arrived. They had dinner at the same time and in the same room as the other guests. We heard them playing until 0:30 AM and at 5:30 AM, still half dark, the gardener started with his brush cutter. A terrible night! The grounds of the hotel were neglected. The area is in decline and there is nothing to do in the distant environment. Only suitable for large groups in transit with few money.

Beds was two singles put together which kept on coming apart, tennis court was out of order. Hotel is miles from town with an infrequent bus service. Pool is tiny. Have to also take the bus to get to the beach. Unless you have a car definitely don't go. Rest of the hotel is fine. Staff are ok.

A friendly hotel. I have no complaints about whatsoever considering the very reasonable rates. Perfectly clean, rooms cleaned thoroughly daily. Breakfast acceptable. Staff great. Bus service stops right outside hotel. My only *advice*.....is book this hotel.....but if your there for more than a couple of days- make sure you book a little car too.

"At least it was cheap"

We stayed for 2 nights. A/C was not working and in a very small room that was jut horrible. We complained about that and the not working safety box, but not until we threatened to leave if it was not fixed, they moved us to another much bigger room. A/c was still not working but facility was much better so we stayed. Breakfast was ok, and pool was clean though small. Hotel facility is old and looks cheap - but so it is, so thereby it was ok. Would not go back though and cannot recommend this hotel to others.

"No AC & bad smell & unfriendly staff"
06/28/13 TellTheTruth2Friends Key West, Florida
The room had a musty/old smell once you opened the door. We opened the windows for air flow right away. This would not be a solution to the problem as there was road noise and you could hear the humming from the pool pump. The air conditioning did not seem to be working? We turned it on and went out for some sight seeing. We arrived back about 11pm the room was hot. We went to the front desk to ask. They said they know it is not working on that side of the building - only during the sunshine hours ??? We were offered to move to a smaller/older room in another section of the hotel where the a/c would be working right away. We have never experienced this in a 3 star OR any other place we have stayed in during our travel experience. They should make the guest aware of this situation upon they check-in. Plus... paper-thin towels, a useless hair-dryer.... this place should never deserve four stars. Do yourself a favor and stay some place else.
