Thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the stay. Room was cool and comfortable, the decorations throughout we're funky and enjoyable. Taxi driver had a hard time finding the location from address alone; print out a Mapquest map to show the driver and should be me problem. Do NOT drive your own or rental in Old San Juan - there is no parking to be found. Really. Hotel has a minimal do-it-yourself breakfast.

We stayed 4 days/ 3 nights in April. Overall, it was a great stay for the value. We had the one bedroom Villa. Room decor was descent but outdated. Great... location and local bakery and restaurant were good. It's a shame I have to become a manager and revise the room for anything not functioning and report it! We stay here a lot. In this day and age it is difficult to understand a hotel that does not provide wi-fi in the rooms. This facility offers in lobby only wi-fi. A big inconvenience. The room although clean it lacked any amenities and conveniences.

On the positive, the pool and beach areas are beautiful! Our room was spacious with a full kitchen, dining table, living room and bed room, though the furnishings seemed a bit dated. The staff seemed courteous too. On the negative, the hotel was very difficult to find. Apparently there are several hotels/time shares behind 2 main gates with signs that […] are very difficult to read. Inside the main gate there's little signage as well. After driving around for an hour and finally getting in after midnight the guy at the front desk gave us our key but told us we would have to come back the morning to officially check in. We had to head out at 6:30 AM the next morning and there was nobody to check us in yet, and we couldn't even get out parking lot because there was no attendant. We had go to back in and find someone to let us out. It was also a bit frustrating that to get out on the beach requires a second key card, but they didn't tell us that and then when we went back to the front desk they were out of all of them. The hotel needs a few updates. We didn't have hot water the first 2 days. Maintenance came when we called but couldn't fix the issue. The room was freezing with the air off. But other than that it was ok. Nice location, pool was great. Loved the gym. I don't think I would book again, however.

my wife and i loved it cant beat what we got for our money beautiful grounds and just outside the hotel on the main road [693] to the left there is a mini mall that has a great supermarket where you shop and also eat for little money good puerto rican food also every kind of restaurants easely accessable i would definately go back had a great time.

We stayed at the Golden Sands in Dorado for a three night stay this past weekend. This hotel is adjacent to The Embassy Suites (ES) and shares the amenities with the ES. The hotel staff were very friendly. Check-in did take a little longer, but all employees were very polite and friendly. They gave us a beautiful top floor room where we had a view of […] the pools and partial ocean. They have 1 large pool, three smaller pools and a hot tub. They have a little playground that is adjacent to the kiddie pool. If you order room service, it will come from the ES. You can get takeout of the breakfast at the ES for $10. The hotel room was clean, but the comforters were okay, will need to be replaced. The parking is $11 per day, and they do have a beach behind the hotel. It is small, but it is not recommended to swim out there due to the sea urchins. The pools are amazing, and the view is spectacular. Nancy, one of the employees of the hotel, checked us out, and she was extremely friendly and helpful. For the price that we paid per night, it is definitely worth staying there. If you need to be close to Dorado, PR, this is a good choice. Great pool and beach combination. Maid service didn't make my bedroom for unknown reasons but over all clean facility. The hotel staff very nice and friendly.

I read reviews and saw they were either great or very low ratings. Needless to say I decided to book here because it was the cheapest around and nothing was available in the city for less than $400 per night. When I arrived at Golden Sands I was surprised with how big the room was. It was basically a one bedroom apt - king size bed with Jacuzzi tub, […] separate bathroom with shower also a large combined kitchen, dining and living room and balcony. The hotel shares the amazing large pool, hot tub, and tiki bar and ocean access with Embassy Suites (the two properties form a horse shoe around the shared area. There is a small casino right next door. The drinks and food can be a little pricey but the rooms have full refrigerators and small stoves so come prepared and bring stuff with you. I would definitely recommend this facility. One piece of advice - get good directions. This place is part of a group of properties (Aquinnis) so signage for Golden Sands is non existent. You have to go through Aquinnis other properties then you see signs for Golden Sands. If you use GPS, put in Embassy Suites. Read more

we loved our trip to this nice family friendly golden sands villas. The pools were well maintained and there were five of them including a kiddie pool and a hot tub. i strongly suggest getting the suite. it is a one bedroom with a kitchen (no oven but a functional stove) and a pull out couch for the kids. it also had a very large whirlpool tub, dishwasher, […] and laundry (all soap included). There is a large grocery store a mile from the resort. Rent a car from the get go a cab is sixty dollars one way out there for a thirty minute ride. the roads are easy to navigate. if you just want to relax and get away this is a great and affordable place to do it.
