Everything about the hotel was good. They even have Freeview(basic cable)but if you're the nervous type better to arrive during the day. Hounslow centre isn't a nice place after sun goes down. During day it's fine. High street has loads of shops, good prices but if you're a tourist looking for Knightsbridge or Harrod's stay clear you'll be very disappointed. […] This is not the London that's on telly. If you don't want fast food or cold sandwiches food choices are a bit limited. Though there's a decent restaurant in the hotel.Hotel is in an odd spot travel-wise. It's a 30 quid taxi ride from heathrow and trust me you want a taxi if you're arriving at night and a 35m+ tube ride to Leicester square et al. So there's no nipping back quickly to hotel between day and night activities. Getting to airport was very easy tho as it's only four tube stops depending on your terminal. Staff were helpful and polite. And the gym they offer is an attached Gold's gym that non-guests of the hotel use as well. Read more

We were staying overnight in order to get to Heathrow. Staff was very friendly, room was clean and attractive. In house restaurant was surprisingly good too. Parking was a bit of a pain. Otherwise, I was very pleased on the quality and the price.

At first I felt the hotel was pretty nice and up to my standards. Later, all these little things kept going on that were really confusing. The toilet leaked... but when we told reception/maintenance, they sent a guy up who basically wiped the floor and said "oh no it's fine" even though it CONTINUED to leak and was very obvious. While relaxing in bed, […] we decided to turn on the TV but the remote control was missing one battery? We informed reception and they said this is a 'similar' problem happening in 'all rooms' and that it cannot be fixed until the morning. He then knocked on our door and insisted on coming in and tried placing 3-4 dead batteries in the remote control. Obviously, nothing worked. We asked if we could just use the TV set and click 'on' from there rather than use the controller. He said no and that this is a problem in all rooms? The TV's buttons were all smashed in and it seemed like a fake/dummy TV!!! SO strange! One positive redeeming fact is that overall the hotel is clean and safe and the shower is fantastic! ITS 2 BLOCKS FROM THE SUBWAY/TRAIN/METRO AND CLOSE TO LHR AIRPORT. VERY CLEAN, AND GOOD FOOD. WHAT I DID NOT LIKE WAS THE RIPOFF I RECEIVED WHEN I ASKED FOR A CLERK TO CALL A TAXI FOR ME TO GO TO THE AIRPORT. CLERK SAID 25 POUNDS WAS THE COST. NORMAL TAXI COST IS 12 TO 13 POUNDS. BUT I SAID OK, AS IT WAS 3AM IN THE MORNING. THE TAXI ARRIVED, LOADED […] MY SONS BACK PACK, MY BACK PACK AND A WHEELED WALKER I HAD. DROVE AWAY FROM THE HOTEL AND PULLED OVER, AND SAID THE HOTEL GETS A COMMISSION FROM THE TAXI COMPANY, AND BECAUSE I HAD A WALKER, I WAS TO BE CHARGED 35 POUNDS, NOT 25. I REFUSED, AS THE LUGGAGE WAS LOADED, WE WERE IN THE TAXI, AND NOW 2 BLOCKS AWAY FROM THE HOTEL. I SAID TAKE US BACK, I WILL CALL MY OWN TAXI. THE DRIVER CALLED THE HOTEL, WHO HE SAID WAS ASKING FOR THE ADDITIONAL FEE OF TEN POUNDS, AND I TALKED TO HIM AND AGAIN REFUSED TO PAY THE ADDITIONAL MONEY. This hotel is a very short walk from the tube station, and is close to Heathrow, which was why I selected it, since I wanted to be in London for a short stay prior to leaving. The hotel is ok, but the room was very hot and stuff with no way to open the window. I am not a frequent traveler but have been to various places in the US and a few in Europe and the UK so I know that European hotel rooms are inherently smaller with less amenities than an equivalently rated US hotel. Having said that, this room was a shoe-box. I'm not going to list specifics because it would sound like i was whining and complaining […] over trivial things. But the little things add up when there's a lot of them. When you're travelling on business, you want to feel minimally comfortable. Bottom line, it is rated 4 stars but if you are used to the American rating system, it is truly only a 2.5 star place. Beautiful hotel, beautiful room, big hot shower, everything new, modern and clean, everything you could need, close to the tube station. Around 15 minutes in a taxi from Heathrow, only cost me £15 for the ride (you could easily take the Piccadilly line tube for cheaper, but I had tonnes of luggage and was tired, so I just took a cab). Only bad things were the elevator stopped working for half a day, and had to go up and down the stairs, and they refused to do any room service in that time. Rooms are small even by European standards but clean and bed was comfortable. Hounslow Central train station about 1 block but thier is no lift, so if you are dragging luggage from Heathrow or unable to use stairs could be difficult. Train to the center of London about 25 minutes (depending on where you want to go). Cab to/from airport was about 30 […] euros (including tip) and an extra suitcase and was about a 15 minute ride. Not much to do in neighborhood after 8 pm. Use of Golds Gym was a nice plus and included use of the pool. We didn't check in until later in the evening around 12:30 a.m. and the fellow who was working the reception area was extremely helpful and had a nice attitude. We checked in and he was able to get us some ginger ale without any problem. He also called the airline to determine which terminal our flight was at and then called the tube line to make sure […] there would be a tube at the conveniently located Hounslow Central Station at 5 a.m. To top it off, he gave us our wake up call at 4:30 a.m. so we could catch an early morning flight to the U.S. I don't know what his name was....but THANK YOU. Since we spent so little time at the hotel, all I can say is that the beds were comfortable, the rooms clean. They might fix the door of the shower. I'm not sure if that is what caused the water to be all over the floor after showering. Other than that, no problems. This hotel is older and not very well maintained. We found a grossly dirty glass right along side a clean one...not sure how that got overlooked by the cleaning service. Floor didn't seem clean either. FYI, the pool, sauna, etc. is actually the Gold's Gym which is on the first floor of the hotel. So, it was very busy with neighboring clients.

I came here after a trip to the Cotswolds to be near Heathrow for an early am flight. The hotel is a 3-minute walk to the Hounslow Central tube station and the tube starts running at 5 AM. We found the hotel quite reasonable for comfort, cleanliness, quiet and service. It was conveniently close and visible to the Piccadilly Line and the Bulstrode Pub which had reasonable prices, all on the Lampton Road. The Black Cab driver bringing us from Islington had a bit of trouble locating Lampton Road due to the irregularity of it, and the tab […] was a bit steep; we couldn't take the tube due to luggage. The cab to Heathrow terminal 3, arranged in advance at the desk, was reasonable. The 2 nights prior to flying out were relaxing and though the tube ride to and back from Islington for a final meeting was a bit long, it was tolerable and better than having to get up that much earlier for the flight had we not opted to be close to the airport. It is a good location for next day travel to the Heathrow airport. It is 45 min away from London by subway. Not very convenient but it is possible to handle if is not in a rush hour. A very clean hotel with a friendly and service orientated staff that is close to Heathrow airport and located in the cosmopolitan area called Hounslow. Very close proximity to the Underground rail station and a "walking" street with reasonably priced stores and restaurants is a plus. A true gem in my opinion....

Picked this hotel because of how close to LHR airport, flying out the next day. Excellent pool and locker rooms. Close to town, which has a street closed down of just shops. Many Pubs nearby to grab some food. Area was safe. Walked home after the pub closed and felt safe.

The rooms are European proportioned - we use them for sleep and storage while sight seeing so tha'ts fine for our purposes. Having just come off a 17 day cruise were we accostomed to coordinating movement. There is a bar on sight, we did not utilize it. The desk staff were very efficient and helpful. It was 20 min to Heathrow, 40 min by the Underground to London. Just a 2 blk walk to the station and a wonderful sports pub on the way with an excellent menu. The room is not a 4-star rating by any stretch of imagination. The maintenance is poor: mildews are in the bathroom shower, windows caulking cracked and peeled. The wall needs a coat of paint. The TV is tiny, you hardly can watch it from your bed. Poor lighting in the room - no light at the desk. The mattress is old and lumpy -- I could not sleep the […] first night due to the mattress's springs were stabbing on my ribs. Requested to change to another room were not honored as they said no other rooms were available. They did changed the mattress on my second night but offered no adjustment for the 1st night. I found the hotel adequate. The best things about the hotel is the convenience to the tube which takes you to Heathrow in about 20 minutes. Also the restaurant in the hotel was excellent! I had trouble with getting the internet and to turn on my tv from the remote, you don't use the "on", you press a number (who knew?). Also, they were 15 minutes late […] in giving me my wake up call, so I was unable to have breakfast in the hotel. For a one night stay, the hotel is fine, but I wouldn't want to spend more time than that. I would stay at the hotel again, because it is a two minute walk to the tube (subway station).
