A good clean hotel at a very good price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is my second year at the Bel-mar and only stay a few nights. Location is excellent if you like staying in old PV. The staff speak english and are very polite and helpful. If you are looking for the ritz this is not for you. It is a great budget hotel and the location is perfect. There are no elavators so be prepared to use the stairs. There are […] four floors. Security is tops. Halls are video monitored and it is gated at night. Small community and guests are always willing to help each other. They know who is coming and going unlike a larger hotel with all the amenaties. . Taxis and buses are right outside. Make sure you have a map when you leave the hotel. This hotel does not provide ice. It would be nice if they had this service or a community fridge. . I like it and will return next year. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The staff were amazing at this hotel. Very friendly, clean and quiet. Rooms are small, however, if you just want a nice clean place to lay your head at the end of the night, this is a great option.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small But Clean Rooms"
The rooms were very small but clean. There are no elevators so be prepared for a long climb up to your room. We had a room facing into the courtyard and it was very nice. Good location close to restaurants.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location in Romantic Zone"
I wonderful experience! Very friendly, helpful staff even if their english or your spanish are limited. Wi-Fi, bottled drinking water on each floor. Ceiling fan and A/C. No elevator so make sure you are able to navigate stairs with your luggage. Located in old Puerta Vallarta Romantica Zone, 4 blocks from the beach and Malecon board walk. City bus and […] taxi service right outside the hotel. Easy walking distance to shops and numerous restaurants. Street traffic and the occasional early morning rooster contribute to the atmosphere but remember you are staying in a city, not a secluded private beach resort. An excellent budget friendly choice for your stay in PV. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great value, great location and wonderful staff."
My stay at the Belmar was for 3 weeks and the room was cleaned daily with fresh bedding and towels and always spotless. The bed was hard but typical of Mexico so don't expect more anywhere else. The staff was very friendly and hard working and kept the hotel very clean and tidy each day. The location was great for taxis, buses and a short walk to the […] Malecon. I was able to change rooms with no problem when the Wifi on my floor was poor and the lower floor was great for Wifi. There was a room safe, ceiling fan, air conditioning, balcony and lots of hot water, a nice shower and 3 ways to lock your door from the inside. The only downside was the noise from traffic and car alarms from the heavy traffic outside but by 11pm or so things were quiet enough for a good sleep once you get used to the beds. The pillows were nice and 2 to a bed. I felt very safe and content there and the price was right. Extended stays allow for a price reduction too which the staff offered without me having to ask. Overall I was very pleased. Always smiles from Cynthia and Ezmerelda at the front desk made it very pleasant. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Right in the heart of PV. Great little hotel, but try to get a room away from the street. The traffic noise will keep you up all night long.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
If your looking for 5 stars, look elsewhere. But if you seek a clean, respectable place with character right in the heart of Puerto Vallerta's most genuine neighborhood, this is the place. Good Internet access from rooms too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Avoid like the PLAGUE"
I would suggest that you try to avoid this place like the plague. We prepaid our room in the hope of stayng for 15 days but barely lasted a week before we just packed up and left. The four conditions Expedia lists hardly matter when there is no noise control, no decent mattresse, no cloth closet, no.....on and on.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel Belmar in PV"
Clean room, great location, very nice staff,BUT...very noisey. The hotel is located on a major city bus route which made it very loud from 6 am to 12 pm.Try for an inside to room to cut the effects of the bus noise.

LA ATENCION DEL PERSONAL EN LA RECEPCION SIEMPRE FUE MUY AMIGABLE A EXCEPCION DE UNA PERSONA QUE NOS DETUVO AL INGRESO ARGUMENTANDO QUE ESTABAMOS PASANDO UNA PERSONA EXTRA SIN PAGAR, LO QUE DEMOSTRO LA FALTA DE INFORMACION DE NUESTRA RESERVACION.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"sehr zentral, sehr freundlich, sehr sauber!!!"
"Cool hotel with awesome staff"
04/12/14 KatrinaDD Anchorage, Alaska
This hotel is clean and colorful and full of artwork on every floor. It can be noisy, and I had trouble sleeping the first night, but Citlaly and Oscar were very kind and put us in a different room. I slept great the rest of the nights and really enjoyed our stay!
"best deal in town literally"
03/31/14 Cathal D Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
Hotel Belmar was one of the best deals for your money hotel, I've been to. It's located right in the middle of town close to all of the markets and the beach, which is only a few blocks away. The way that's its nestled away from all of craziness but still in the middle of it makes it such a great place to go. Whether your 22 or 52 you will find something fun to do and won't have to spend an arm and a leg like you would if you were right on the ocean. Overall a fantastic place to stay if you like to save a couple of bucks and put that towards all the exploring you can do. The hotel staff is also very courteous and will always let you in no matter what time it is with a lil knock on the front door.
"Awesome Mexican Hotel"

Very clean! Love all the art. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. 4 blocks from the beach and tons of restaurants and shops around. Also, right on the bus route so, very convenient to many destinations. It can be a little loud with being on a main road. There is no elevator or pool. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again. Patty
"you get what you pay for"
03/03/14 Superhot C San Francisco, California
LOTS of noise within the hotel even with a room on top floor away from streets. people talking, doors slamming, people doing the deed, toilets flushing, etc. we paid $35 per night for a small, clean room. staff was friendly and bi-lingual. beds are hard and pillows way too soft and flattened. I am not high maintenance and don't expect satin sheets, but it was hard to sleep the first night with all the hotel noise going on. by the 4th night, I got use to everything and walking up three floors (no elevator). bathroom was fairly small and bathroom windows are made NOT to close so it lets in even more noise. yes, the hotel is affordable if you don't plan on staying in the whole time. but after a long day of walking or excursions, you just want a quiet room and comfy bed to sleep on. the good thing is the location of the hotel. lots of restaurants, bars, bus stop same block, and walking distance to all the attractions. overall though, I would spend a little more money on another hotel that has more comfortable beds and less noise.
"Very well-run hotel"
02/04/14 SFO60s Palm Coast, FL
We just returned from a week at the Belmar. The bilingual staff is exceptionally professional and helpful. The hotel is spotlessly clean. Rooms range from a few extremely small and basic interior rooms to larger perfectly nice, though simple, rooms. Our was on the exterior with a small balcony on the side street, away from the quite noisy side facing Insurgentes. The location is excellent, a few blocks from the Malceon and all the restaurants listed in the travel guides. Perfectly located for buses and taxis. We had to get a taxi to the airport at 4:30AM, and the cab stand was ready for us on the next corner. We forgot to bring an alarm clock, but the deskman climbed to our top floor room (no elevator) and knocked for us at exactly 4AM as we requested. Hotel is an easy walk to El Brujo, the best reasonably priced restaurant we experienced in PV.
"3 weeks "
01/31/14 Peakaboo123 Edmonton, Canada
Have to say The Belmar hotel is a very affordable place. It is very clean , very friendly staff . I spent 3 weeks. I did check other hotels in the area none were as clean and they all costed a lot more money. Only downside is the traffic noise but that calms down around 11 pm. I definitely stay there again.
"Will come back for sure!"

extremely helpful right from the start, we checked in late due to bus times and they were more than accomidating, the lady behind the desk was the most help we have had during our travels and even organised someone to come down and deliver our bus tickets for free as we were having trouble booking. the rooms are imacculate and spacious. amazing hotel and would happily stay here again
"Better Than Ever"

I returned home last night from another wonderful stay at the Hotel Belmar. Out of the 9 times I've visited Puerto Vallarta, I have stayed here the last 7. Every time I return, improvements have been made that have made my experience even more enjoyable and comfortable. They continue to offer free wifi. The staff is always so welcoming and accommodating. The free cookies and coffee in the lobby every morning are great. The Belmar is centrally located to all the best restaurants and is a very short walk to the Malecón. Keep in mind that there is no elevator but I see that as my tiny bit of exercise while I'm on vacation. The Belmar is located on a very busy street, which can be very noisy. However, the hotel has made many changes and the noise level from the street is much less than it used to be. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an inexpensive, immaculate, centrally located place to stay.
"Acceptable for the price. Free water and WiFi"
10/15/13 Leviuqse Riverside, California
We got a great deal for this hotel, this was my third and final hotel from my last trip to Puerto Vallarta. The price was a bargain comparing to the other hotels I stayed in. When I got there, the service on the reception was great, they helped me get my luggage all the way up to to the 5th floor. Pros Price - less than 20 USD per night, keep in mind I got a great deal online Free water - Every floor has free filtered water, they only have cold water in the first floor. Also free cookies and coffee in the mornings Service - Employees always said hi to me and everyone was very nice, I needed to reheat a left over pizza and I asked on reception if they could put it on the microwave for a few seconds and they did it. Free WiFi - Fast and they have a wireless access point on every floor. Neutral Small room, only 2 towels, A\C is $80 or 60 more per night, parking lot is $50 pesos per night and its located 1 street away from the hotel, no elevator. Beds are ok at the best. Negative - Noisy hotel, even at the fifth floor i could hear the noise from the buses outside all day long, also the A\C is kinda noisy. Nonetheless, stay here if you are in a budget, ask for a inside room if the noise is a problem for you. I wouldnt stay here for more than 4 nights, but I'll probably come back again. Thanks
The location is in front of bus a stop. Place is safe and secure. Parked my car out front on street. The tv remote wasn't quite working. Staff had to replace it with 4 different remotes until if finally worked. Shower has hot water and good pressure. Toilet does not always flush well. Door to bathroom opens onto your bed. Obvious design flaw. The hotel is located a few blocks from the boardwalk. Easy to walk. I stayed there over Labor Day weekend with girlfriend and felt safe walking around. Lots of arts and craft things to looks at. Very artsy town. Never felt threatened or feared safety was compromised. Plenty of taco stands to walk to from the hotel. Prices are around 1usd. You can walk around and see the different prices. Its cheaper the further away from the water. Book online it's cheaper then just showing and asking if you got a room. Plus, online you avoid the extra out of country charges to your credit card. Be sure to stop/fill up at the gas station if you driving out of puerto Vallarta heading south to Manzanillo. No gas stations and windy roads for long time.
