An historical district, Dongcheng is home to a concentration of major sights and treasures including Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City (Palace Museum). To the south, discover Wangfujing Street, a famous shopping boulevard that sees mostly foot traffic only. Here, more than 200 old Beijing brands still reign supreme including the Wuyutai Tea House and Shengxifu hat store.

I was fairly sure by the description on line that this was a top notch hotel. When we arrived I noticed that half the first floor of the hotel was taken up by the local Rolls Royce showroom. I was impressed. Nuff said!

Although it is a very nice and clean hotel I did find the services it offered to be very overpriced. Breakfast was not included with my hotel booking and therefore had to be paid for separately and at £23 I thought it was too much. I also asked the hotel to book some tours for me and the tours they offered were incredibly expensive. £150 for a tour of Beijing seemed too much especially as the subway was 20p to go anywhere. I also asked the concierge to book a train for me to Xi’an and they told me to go to the train station myself and get the tickets which cost me a lot of time and effort. I don’t expect this from a concierge service.

Spacious room layout, comfortable design, I made a good decision in upgrading myself to the Regent Club. If the rate is favorable, this will be the Hotel in Beijing for me.

For 1st time visitors & shopping, strong location for shopping & central sight-seeing. For business visitors, consider near your appointments. Superior concierge services: custom-made, mousse birthday cake with attractive candle at a reasonable price. Negative: room air-conditioning thermostat didn't respond to manually changing the temperature settings. Chip-marks on closet door dark wood edges. Otherwise, doormen-lobby-elevators-room-bathrooms were 5-stars.

The Regent Beijing was a terrific place to stay. The room was beautiful, fantastic bathroom, great view of the city, and the service was fantastic. The Regent is very close to Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Wangfujing Street, and other Beijing sites. For sites further away, there is a subway station right under the hotel and the staff was great about calling a cab and giving the Chinese taxi drivers good instructions. If we go back to Beijing, I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

The Regent is an amazing hotel, but what really makes this place amazing is the service of their employees. Always with great smile and ready to please attitude. The rooms, facilities and everything is top quality and brand new. The location is fenomenal. With the subway station next to the hotel you can reach anywhere, but you are already next to Tianmen square and the shopping district. I've been in several hotels world wide and this is the best. Thanks Regent!

I upgraded our room for a small increase in the price and we got a suite on the fifteenth floor with breakfast included. I also asked for the City view. This hotel has four resturants. Breakfast is on the top floor. The view is fantastic. You can see the Forbiden City from the breakfast room.

Very pleasent stay. The spa center with pool and exercise room was excellent. Good view from the room (10th floor). The only things i wasn't entirely pleased with was being refered to a lineup/que in at the reseption, even though there were several available reseptionist . . . and that the maid didn't replace used drinking glasses. And I think that guy attending to the locker rom was a little bit to nosy monitoring cloth chaning prosess...
