Quality Inn Grenada - Grenada

I was happily surprised. Initially I had an issue checking in. When booking through Hotels.com I asked several times about an extra pet fee and was told there would not be one. When checking in they tried to charge me one. The manager kept telling me there is one, I have to pay it, I can call hotels.com and see what they can do about it. Of course, […] this was not what I wanted to hear, I should not be the one that has to deal with someone they rent through giving poor information. HOWEVER, within five minutes of entering my room the manager called me and told me he took care of it. I think once I left he realized he handled it poorly. The hotel is also in the middle of updating and I was lucky enough to stay in one of the updated rooms. I was very happy with it. Comfy bed, lot of open floor space for my dog, pull out couch, fridge, microwave, new large flat screen tv, etc. It was a great price and I definitely felt like I got for more than what I paid for. We had a wonderful experience at the Quality Inn Grenada. It was recommended by my family and we were completely satisfied. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was just what we needed. All around a great hotel experience.

I'm not sure why there are so many roadside hotels at this I55 exit at Grenada MS... perhaps it's the nearby military base ( we saw quite a few young soldiers in the area ) or perhaps it's the fact that Grenada is about 1/2 way between Jackson MS and Memphis. In any case, from the looks of the ones we saw none appeared especially good We chose this […] hotel on-line because they accept small pets ( although they charge a $15 fee to do so ). So what did we think? For starters the room had a strange odor that required airing out as soon as we arrived. The grounds were mostly weeds and stubs. The hotel exterior was in need of serious upkeep. And the area boasted little in decent restaurants - mostly sandwich shops and bars. On the plus side - the room was decent, the shower, clean and powerful, the hotel lobby was pleasant and the free breakfast was acceptable... and they accepted our dog. All in all, it wasn't a true "pit" but neither was it a pleasure palace. Our rating --- uh... acceptable, I guess. Read more

The Hotel was pretty clean. Perfect if you are just stoping in for the night and getting back on the road the next morning. Staff was nice, and had a pretty good breakfast.

Young male night manager was disrespectful. If someone is not allowed to get a breath of fresh air after driving for TEN hours, by the pool, to get rid of a headache; then We do not want to stay at a Quality Inn again. If food and drinks are not allowed by the pool, then why is there a huge trash can on each side of the pool, INSIDE the pool inclosure? […] And there are no pool HOURS posted anywhere around the pool (It was 10:45 PM and I was alone, so I surely was not going to be making any noise/ just wanted to relax for about 10-15 minuntes). Sorry about this, but this was a really big deal he made out of NOTHING. There was no lock on the pool enclosure, no posted pool hours, so NO RULES were being broken. Read more

Not sure how they can call this a QUALITY Inn. Pigeons living up on the staircases and leaving their droppings everywhere and nothing is done to clean it up. Frogs swimming and junk floating in the outdoor pool. The room smelled real bad. I wouldn't stay here again if it was free.

I had to go upstairs to the room and back down 3 different times before I could enter my room, because the key didn't work. The review that is in the binder in the room was filled out by the previous tenant, and still in the binder. the dust had settled around the suggestion card proving how long it had been that noone had cleaned the room properly. […] The girl at the front desk wasn't happy or excited about her job at all. Good spot for sleeping one off. Went down to Mississippi for a football game, with some buddies. Stayed Friday night went to game Saturday. Great places to eat, within walking distance. Also, for those who want to hang, there are a couple of nice watering holes. As for the hotel, nothing spectacular, just average digs. Had minor issues with check in, […] but hotel staff made it right. I would suggest this place for those out of towners, going to Oxford for the game. When we got to our room we found tthe toilet wouldn't flush (rusty chain off flapper), the television was fuzzy (checked all connections) and the clock was blinking (tried unsuccessfully to set it-unable to unplug). We called the front desk and asked for another room. Though accommodating, the desk clerk was unfriendly. I will not stay at this motel again. The staff was very nice, but the rooms don't feel clean, the lobby smells musty, and the breakfast was not good. It was just put out day after day after day - only had white bread - bagels, etc. The food was mostly frozen heated - not much at all. The fruit was greasy feeling - just not a clean place to stay.
