Delice Hotel Apartments - Athens

I am often confounded by how different the real life experience of a hotel is to the Expedia reviews. I am not sure what other people's expectations are, but if you are a normal family not used to drinking out of silver chalices at every meal and eating gold, you will have a delightful time at the Delice Hotel. The rooms, which are mini-apartments supplied […] with everything you need for a short- or medium-range stay, are spacious, comfortable and clean. Granted, like in most European hotels, the king-size bed is really just two double beds pushed together, our balcony looked out on, well, other balconies, and the free breakfast is usual continental fare, but the upsides of this hotel are many. The location is superb if you are looking to visit any major site in Athens, it is right next to a very convenient Metro station, there are excellent restaurants nearby, the area is safe, and, best of all, the English-speaking staff is extremely kind and helpful. For the price I couldn't imagine a much better experience. My wife and three-year-old daughter also felt right at home. This was a great base for an 8-night family vacation. Stay at Delice! Basic furnished apartment in good area of Athens (in the middle of 2 5star hotels Hilton and Caravali Divani). The hotel is basic yet comfortable enough for a good night sleep. Delice Hotel Apts is located behind the Hilton and close to Diwani Caravel- two of the best Hotels in Athens. It is very close to the Metro-Evangilimos exit so very convenient to travel all over the city- 5 min. walk and 5-10 min on the Metro to go to all the sights- Acropolis, the museums, Plaka etc. It is about 20 min from Piraeus Port on the Metro- The […] Hotel staff are friendly and helpful especially Kostos. We had a GREAT time at the Hotel Delice! The location was great and was in a very safe area. We were only about a 5 minute walk from the nearest metro, but, we did most of Athens on foot. The breakfast in the hotel was OK. Not much of a variety. Cheese, ham, boiled (unpeeled) eggs, different types of toast and rolls, Jams and spreads, fresh juice, coffee […] and tea. The Hotel Delice is an older hotel with spacious apartment style rooms. It is within walking distance of the Metro (Evangelismos Station.) We took the Metro from the airport to Evangelismos and walked to the hotel from there. Delice Apartments are conveniently located near the Athens Hilton and a short walk away from the Syntagma and Kolonaki areas and sights as the National Gallery, the Benaki Museum and the Cycladic Art Museum. We didn't expect much from this hotel, as we were just looking for a place to stay overnight before leaving Greece. The Staff was extremely helpful and the room itself was exceptional. Pretty spartan room with a downward sloped balcony and spotty wireless connection and a rudimentary breakfast, but in a good location, very clean, and friendly staff. The pictures make it look nicer than it is, but definitely worth it if you get a good deal.

Really this is exactly what it says on the tin, you get a balcony a nice room that is very large a small kitchen area if you want it, with a fridge and cooker, a clean bathroom new towels every day and well mannered staff. I really dont know what more you need for the price its brilliant its a just under 4* hotel and truly worth it.

The staff were polite and very helpful in allowing us to have a late checkout. The family room was very spacious and although dated the hotel certainly met our needs for a one night base in Athens prior to flying home. The metro is within walking distance but across a number of VERY busy intersections which was only a concern to us with 3 young children […] in tow. We really needed a place close to public transit that had a kitchenette, Condo-Hotel style and of the few Athens have this one was the cheapest. The price seemed just OK at the time of booking on line. However when we arrived we were told that not ALL the rooms had a kitchen and we could be upgraded to one for an extra 10 Euros per night. We did and […] found that the tiny kitchen didn't really have much to use at all to make meals with. The place hadn't been refurbished since the 80's maybe and was shabby and old and tattered. Simple local brand shampoo and soap samples were never replaced once used in the 4 days we stayed. I really wouldn't stay there again unless I really had to! Pros were the friendly service and the "free" morning breakfast that included fresh orange juice and a basic yet nice spread of Greek items like fresh yogurt and honey. The stay was great, very roomy hotel. Two bathrooms were a plus. For the price and location this hotel was excellent. Clean and comfortable, we were 5 people and were able to have our own space. Dining room and kitchen were a great help since traveling with kids. Also breakfast was included, decent variety of things to choose from.

Booked hotel for two nights and found it served its purpose we'll for our stay. Room was clean and aircon worked well to keep room cool. No view from room but was not an issue for us as only in room for sleeping. Area round hotel was fine at night and a few cafe's and bars close by. Was rated 4* by Expedia but definitely wasn't. But I loved it & would return. Easy to reach from the airport - get the X95 bus to the Hilton stop (5 euros) & a short walk. I knew immediately that the area was good. We were next to the Hilton & near lots of embassies. The hotel has seen better days & was probably one of the best in the 70s, but it needs […] updating. Our room was a 2 bedroomed apartment with 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room & dining area. Loads of room. All very clean & comfortable. Our room had a balcony & overlooked a small park with a row of orange trees below. Very pretty & quiet. Staff were friendly & helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The only downside was the hotel did not have a bar, but there were several nearby. Breakfast was excellent - lovely greek yogurt with granola & honey plus the usual continental fare. There was also a juicer for making freshly squeezed orange juice. The hotel was very quiet (as was Athens) or breakfast could have been chaos due to the tiny dining room. The best thing is the location. During our 4 night stay, other than trips to & from the airport, we did not use any public transport - all the sights were easily walkable & we felt safe at all times. You will see riot police on street corners but they had nothing to do as everything was quiet & peaceful. Not the most modern hotel but considering its age, it is kept very well, clean and good condition. The only criticism I have is, because of its age, the plumbing is rather noisy. You can walk to everything which is great , bout 10 -15 brisk walk to centre . On 1st look neighborhood looks bad but i pays off to explore . Located 5 minutes behind the Hilton, this little 3-star budget hotel in Kolonaki district is perfect for budget travelers. The Evangelismo Metro Station is about 7 minutes walk away. It didn't bother us that we are always about 1 or 2 metro stops away from the main tourist attraction as it is so easy to go anywhere by the metro. This is all compensated […] by the fact that the hotel is a district where I can feel safe walking around without the constant need to clutch my handbag to my chest (an act I felt compelled to do walking around Omonia and other less desirable districts in town). The hotel is very clean and the staff is always very friendly but the rooms and fittings do feel like they have been there since the 1970s. They have a very tiny elevator so you do not have to carry your own luggage up the stairs, but the elevator is very tiny and if you are not of petite size like me, there may be difficulty fitting two people with luggage in it. Breakfast is typical European affair with bread, Greek yoghurt and some ham and cheese. The freshly squeezed orange juice is probably the highlight of the day. There is free wifi access in the room, but only limited to one account access per room. There is a cafe right below and a host of eateries within 1 minutes walk, and a news stand right in front of the hotel which sells water and snacks but there is no grocery store or convenient store close by. All in all, I think this is a great budget hotel for its price and location. Read more

Härlig nyrenoverad lägenhet med gångavstånd till allt. Syntagma-torget, Plaka (Gamla stan), Akropolis, Panathinaiko-stadion, Lykkos-kullen, mysiga restauranger och shopping - allt inom 2 km. Perfekt! Personalen är mycket trevlig och service-minded. Nära tunnelbanan som går till flygplatsen.

Kändes nästan som hemma att bo i denna rymliga två och en halv-rummare. Perfekt för en familj när alla inte vill trängas i ett och samma rum, och man inte vill äta alla mål mat ute på stan. Även om inredningen var långt ifrån ny, var allt fräscht och städningen var oklanderlig och görs varje dag.
