So the last 2 nights, after asking to move to a different room because I am a really light sleeper, were TOTALLY different. The elevator needs to be replaced it is the slowest elevator I ever experienced. The elevator lighting also generates so much heat when combined with the slowness you actually sweat during the ride. This is not an exaggeration.

I particularly enjoy staying in boutique hotels with unique architecture and decor, and whose scale allows them to focus on customer service. Lancaster Arts filled the bill nicely and is "WAY COOL". The continental breakfast was very nice and they have a neat, funky bar with a pretty fun crowd that night. Great stay!

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. Dinning was superb! Love the sketch pad and pencils in the room. You get a fresh rose and chocolates every night with complimentary turn down service. Had a very pleasant overnight at the Lancaster Arts Hotel, although I did have a few quibbles: some cut up fresh-fruit would have been nice at the breakfast. Also, there were no downloadable movies or shows on the TV, which would have been nice, after a tiring, long drive. We did appreciate being able to eat at the adjoining restaurant on the premises, […] however, as we got to the hotel in the evening after a long day spent looking at colleges. I'd say not quite. The hotel is satisfactory but our room was noisy both to the street and neighboring rooms. The breakfast that was included could be much better without much more effort. The location is great if you require being near F&M. After our first night, the housekeeper barely made our beds and the room was not as clean as it should've been […] to start. This hotel is awesome. The vibe is very cool and different. The staff was helpful and professional. The room was very trendy but not stuffy and very clean. We stayed in a room right next to the elevator and didn't hear anything all night. The surrounding is equally great with shoppes and restaurants in walking distance. We will def stay here again.

We picked the loft suite for a quick 2 day getaway and everything was perfect! The jetted tub made for a perfect romantic getaway especially when it snowed most of the day saturday limiting how far we wanted to venture out towards the area tourist activities. Very nice place. Friendly staff and nice rooms. Not all rooms are the same size and are likely assigned based upon price paid. We stayed in a smaller room, but even that was very nice. Bathroom was very good size too, which always makes things more comfortable. We'll be back - and highly recommend it to others.

It was very comfortable. It's a small hotel and was extremely quiet and lovely. The best thing about this hotel is the restaurant, John J Jeffries. If you get a chance, eat there every night. It's all local, fresh, and organic and Lancaster country does farm-to-fork right. Great bar. Great vibe. Wonderful service. I'd stay here again.

If you're looking for a great alternative to the chains, this is it. Shops are walking distance in between LAH and the Central Market. Didn't do the bar/restaurant downstairs but only heard good things. Gym was small and basic but what I'd expect. Parking garage was a plus (free too). The breakfast in the morning was just what I needed to get going […] with a good assortment of continental choices, even some egg wraps. Room and bed were very comfortable, some noise outside at night, but not late and not bad, but you are downtown, so you're bound to get some. Mix of people - kids, couples, seniors, but still a quiet spot. Very well appointed, great service, seamless free wifi. On top of all that some very unique art, furnishings, and the old building with lots of brick, original wood and loads of character. Lancaster arts hotel may be one of the highest ranked places to sta in Lancaster but it is mediocre. Our room was small and poorly lit. Our food at the John Jeffries restaurant was fair, and the continental breakfast was terrible. The decor with original art was nice, but the entire experience felt claustrophobic. Noon checkout was appreciated.
