Great location especially when you work in the Airport Express stop. The express train from the airport is only $100 HKD and it takes you to the Central station where you hop on a free shuttle that takes you to a few hotels, with Island Pacific as one stop. It is the last stop of the route which is good, because when you go back to the airport, it is […] a direct and non stop to the train. The hotel was relatively nice inside, but it's location was in the middle of the trade district, which made it very noisy. When you walked out, you were in the middle of vegetable stands, meat markets, etc. The shuttle from the airport to the hotel was very clean and the driver did a great job. Very economical also. The pool at the hotel was clean, […] and the exercise room was very, very small. Food prices were outrageously expensive. I probably would not stay in this hotel again, only because there are so many other options in the city that I was not aware of during the trip. This hotel was very nice and clean, the staff were all very helpful and nice and the view of the harbor was amazing! Unfortunately the hotel is in the middle of a street full of vendors selling shark fins and some sort of large dried out skin for a few blocks to either side. I don't know what those things were but they left a vaguely fishy smell permeating […] everything. One small, but irremediable, problem with the room: if you want to listen to the TV news while using the lavatory, you can't open the door all the way because your knees block it! Plot ratio constraints I guess... Otherwise everything was fine.

Great value for the money! Like most hotels in Asia, the rooms weren't that large and the beds were very hard. However, the staff was great and the subway station is within a 10min walk.

For the price great hotel, the bellman on the ground floor are extremely helpful, cabs are not always easy to get, but the guys were more than happy to get one and ensured that the driver knew where i was going. Easy check in and easy check out. The price was very very good for Hong Kong, it was my second stay and i would certainly stay again.

The service in the hotel was very good. The buffet was a little high. The pillows in the rooms were terrible. The rooms smelled a little musty. The bell men were very attentive when you enter the hotel. The staff overall were very good.

Apparently potential customers don't warrant general assistance or hospitality until AFTER they've qualified as paying customers. Most of the rooms in Island Pacific have a nice harbor view. As usual in Hong Kong, the room is a bit small, with the queen or king bed taking up plenty of space. But the room has all the amenities. The hotel is a little old, however, the upkeep is good. The service is friendly and prompt, with plenty of bellboys available. staff were extremely friendly. Hotel provided shuttle to and from airport, and a few convenient transportation options and Central several times each day. Very easy to get around. Beds were too firm hence uncomfortable. We got a standard room with two twin beds. The space between the bed and closet is too narrow - too close to the bed - making access to the closet difficult. One has to walk sideways to access it.

But this one is very well kept even after so many Chinese mainland visitors crowd into the island raising up the difficulty of hotel maintenance. Hotel is in excellent conditions, standard rooms are comfortable despite they are small (typical by HK standards). Convenient location with the tram stop just a block away from hotel and tons of buses to choose from. Close to a lot of local street food stores and supermarkets. Very friendly and courteous staff.

I can't say enough. I stayed at another hotel while in HK as well, so I had a chance to compair different hotels. This was by far the best option. I was able to try local food and western food all within walking distance. They have the best staff and an American size room/bathroom with a full size tub for a nice bath after a long walk

The stay was fine until. Went to get my deposit back. Nowhere on any of m signed documentation does it say they charge $4 per local call. LOCAL CALL!!! nor did any of the staff tell me. They requested that I joined their membership/emailing list to get the fees waived.

Hotel was fine. Wi-fi was a little bit slow, and so were the elevators. The only thing that i did not like was there was too much water pressure in the shower, and the shower drain was slow. I had read previous ratings about the area being "bad" where this hotel was located. Not true. It's Hong Kong and Asia. It is going to be different. Safe neighborhood. Near bus and street car lines. Kind of on the west side of HK but still very accessible. Will stay again.

We took advantage of the wonderful outdoor pool, and the gym, which is small but has excellent treadmill and elliptical.
