Bed was small, a standard double, not a queen. Beautiful location, but parking was impossible. Great pool and hot tub, but extra fee of 9 pounds was high, should have been an included amenity. The included breakfast was great.

Because we had been traveling solely by train and bus while in England we would have appreciated better directions to the hotel with bus stop included. Extremely convenient to arrange taxi pick up for the airport at 5 AM the next morning.

Well- where do I start- having to payor an early checkin when when you arrive 50 minutes early! have to pay for the leisure pool, Service and reception was very poor (not just my view but a topic of conversation among other guests) , breakfast overcooked and pooly served.. need I go on.......The fact that we were a large international party at a wedding […] and NOT a coach group) seemed to cause us to be generally ignored- no coffe/tea etc availible on request and when it did arrive it was poorly served- only GOOD point is that this hotel is near the airport and there is a local food for food and friendly service. have stayed at this hotel in the past with no problems. Easy check in, good value for the price and breaskfast was great (paid for it on the day rather than in with the price as it ended up cheaper). The hotel is a favourite with coach parties and so we always eat from the bar menu rather than the restaurant which can get busy. Reasonably priced drinks […] and food. First impressions - reception seemed disorganised and short of staff. Room spacious and comfortable but cold and was very sparce on supplies, e.g. tea/coffee, soap etc. Bathroom very small. A plesant run of the mill hotel that is fine to stay in for a couple of nights at a time. The room was comfortable, but lacked things such as radio or clock. I found that everything was clean and the staff polite and attentive. Happy hour saw a pint of Carlsburg lager at £2 each from the hotel bar, which was refreshingly surprising. I also had Steak […] and Chips for £4.50, which you cannot complain about in a hotel. If you do stay at this hotel, make sure that in the evening you walk up to the village pub. We’ve stayed at this hotel when it was a ‘Holiday Inn’, the drop in standards is noticeable. We stayed last month, only the discount through Expedia saw me giving it another chance. The rooms are ok, those who service the rooms were helpful. It was disappointing to find only one set of towels, the booking was for two. Even more disappointing was even […] though I asked the room service supervisor for the missing set, it took a journey to reception on my return that evening to get them. At the last visit and this one, reception staff varied between friendly and helpful to slightly bossy. Dinning room staff at breakfast time were generally inattentive / disinterested, there were two exceptions on the third morning; two female dinning room staff was efficient and helpful, even though one of them had been on duty late in to the early hours. The food; the fruit selection wasn’t restocked, the cooked items looking dry /burnt/desiccated. The output from the rotary toaster was unpredictable; the bread could come out dried but not toasted or burnt on one side and hardly toasted on the other. The tea a strange colour The signal from hotels router for the free WiFi lacked the power to reach our room, even though our room faced over open ground to the office section. A signal registered but was to week to hold. Only a great offer will tempt me back, even then we’re likely to go room only and not risk the disinterested dining room staff and iffy food! Read more

I last stayed at this hotel when it was a Holiday Inn and enjoyed my visits. I looked at the price structure after the change and was disappointed to find they hadn’t any ‘package’ offers similar in range to those offered by Holiday Inn and so chose a Holiday Inn hotel. I chose it for this stay as a reasonable package was available via Expedia. The […] hotel feels fairly similar to the Holiday Inn, but staff didn’t seem as well trained nor as neatly turned out. On arrival reception was basic and not that friendly. First morning breakfast was no improvement: staff seemed disorganised, wearing their uniform as if they had a grudge against the clothing, short staffed, the two working holding a conversation across the dinning area which necessitated them raising their voices and oblivious to those eating. Second and third mornings were better, and a different crew. Breakfast was fair though the sausages lacked texture and taste, the fried bread was over cooked. The toaster was far too slow and lead to build up[ of frustrated users. Perhaps worst of al was the tea; regardless of brew time it produced a strange greyish cuppa and which tasted strangely stewed! Close to the airport, 5 minutes by taxi (cost 6,60 pound), very friendly and helpfull staff, very nice food in the bar. Room was a bit old, but everything we needed was there, very comfortable stay before our flight back home.

As a cheap hotel this hotel was ok but I would hope a few aspects would need to be addressed over time or business will eventually fade or prices lowered even more. My concerns were over a few important aspects. . . the bed was rock hard, the walls are thin, the hotel decor and furniture is shabby and the car park is a joke !. We (myself and 14 y/o son) needed a comfortable base that was flexible on timings of arrival and within easy access of Leeds Bradford airport. The hotel matched our requirements really well. We were not expecting luxury as we weren't paying for it. We were arriving on a Friday night at 11pm, leaving next morning 6am (for trip to Norway for England footy), […] arriving back at the hotel 2am Sunday morning before a late Sunday morning checkout. The bit I was worried about was the taxi shuttle arrangements. Front desk booked our Sat early morning cab (which arrived punctually) and said it was easy to get a taxi from the Airport 'cabin' on our return. That also proved to be the case with a guy on the desk in the cabin - fare paid to him who gave us receipt to give driver who was waiting outside for us. All in all, taxi arrangements worked like clockwork! At the hotel, we didn't check the food out but one tip to pass on is the bar will not take cash payment after 11pm and you have to get your keycard stamped to be able to book drinks to your account. In order to get your keycard stamped you have to make a small deposit on your credit card which isn't charged but used for security. The account is then settled on check-out as normal. Will certainly use this hotel again for trips from Leeds Bradford airport where all we want is a clean, comfortable base. The hotel is ok but for the price I was expecting more, I stayed at the Mercure just down the road a few days before for the same price but for a few pounds, this was much better. What lets the Britannia down is the extra charges everywhere (except the free wifi, although this didnt reach my room). I was particularly annoyed that the leisure facilities […] for guests were charged extra,(I therefore didnt use it). I dont know any other hotel that charges guests to use their facilities. Perfectly comfortable and not all bad for the bargain price, even has a pool. Staff all impressive, courteous and efficient. Superb location 10 mins from airport, £7 taxi ride. I believe there is a bar menu food but I was for some reason directed to the restaurant and presented with the carvery as a fait a complis, one shouldn't expect much for a tenner […] but even so it was pretty rank.
