"Perfect family ski vacation spot"
Service is fantastic, and location cannot be beat. You walk 100 yards to ski school, lift, & gondola. Concierge staff is very helpful with dinner reservations, etc.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Mountain Village location."
Right off the free gondola to the town of Telluride. The other free gondola will take you directly to a grocery store. No vehicle is needed once you arrive. In fact, the hotel will pick you up at the local airports.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Ski Vacation!"
This is our third stay at the Franz Klammer and we are always thrilled with the above and beyond service that we receive there. The entire staff is gracious and helpful, and do everything with a smile on their face. You just don't get that much anymore! They are not just helpful with the resources in the Lodge, but they are really knowledgeable about […] everything available in Telluride/Mountain Village. The rooms are always comfortable and spacious, and you just cannot beat this location. This is our first stay in winter, and the ski valet was a great service. Step off of the slopes and hand your skis off to a friendly Franz Klammer Ski Valet for storage. Walk to the slopes the next morning, and the ski valet has your skis ready for you to carry ten steps to the lift. Nothing could be easier! We had a great vacation and will definitely be back! "No AC = Bad for hot months"
07/07/14 TLCoker0312 Dallas, Texas
The staff is great! They tried to make things work for us but if you don't have AC and it's 90 outside there isn't a lot that can be done. I wish I had a read a review that said something about this. The summer months should be fairly mild in Colorado, but this past week was not mild. We had fans in front of doors and windows to try and circulate some air but when you have all the windows open you encounter bad allergens coming in and of course smoke from smokers passing by. If you do stay here in the summer months DO NOT STAY ON THE 1ST FLOOR! The higher up the better for a chance at the breeze. Honestly, even when it was cool outside we woke up with sore throats because the air temp can't be regulated. I guess my point is we didn't stay at a high end hotel to feel like we were camping!!!!!!!!!! This is not a normal hotel where you have your towels changed, trash taken out, beds made. You truly are on your own unless you call and ask someone to come in and do it but be specific. We asked for more towels and they left all the dirty ones and just set piles of clean ones on the bench in the foyer. The location is great for access to the gondola which you have to get on in order to get to town to see the fireworks on July 4th. Be aware that the line becomes about an hour long and you cannot see any fireworks from Mountain Village. I am sure this is a nice place to stay during the winter but for the Summer Months I do not recommend the hotel. I would recommend Hotel Madeline. My grandmother stayed there and it's second to none. Great restaurant, air conditioning, a real hotel. VERY NICE!
We celebrated our 10th Wedding anniversary with our Friends at the Franz Klammer! Everyone made it so special - they even gave us Champagne and Chocolates in our room! All of the staff were so nice and wanted to make our stay extra special - that meant the world to us!! Highly!! recommend!!

I have been to many Hotels and Resorts , but i dont remember been so pampered in one as we were during our stay at The Fairmont Heritage Place , Franz Klammer LOdge . i expected a bigger and a bit more luxurius place but after been taken care at all times by the most attentive personnel of this resort it did not matter . since arriving to the remote Montrose airport Hotel´s Limosine chouffer starts taking care of your had luggage and point the nearest rest room and food court so you can be ready for the 90 min ride to the resort were the rest of the personnel is ready to take you to your asingned unit Villa , there you find atracticve decoration and most comfortable bed and bath rooms each with double sink and Jacussy the living and dining are spacious and have great views of the Sierra . the sky rental and lift tickets are just next to the Hotel so is the Gondolla station to the Village or to the Top of the mountains . the Hotel is surrounded by other nice hotels and several restaurans ,bars and sky boutiques the atmosphere is nice and relaxed and family oriented all over the place . Resorts lobby has lockers to keep ypur sky boots and helmets dry and they offer coffe and tea facilities all day and night for guests . there is no restaruant in site but bar service could be recuested at the lobby . the hotels offers sky valet that keeps your sky equipment ready to go and catches it back as you step from the snow ...
""Go To Place" for Telluride"

Second trip to Telluride. Last year, we stayed at a very nice condo in Mountain Village. Had heard about the Fairmont in Heritage Square and decided to stay this spring break with the kids. We stayed in a two-bedroom suite – thought it was great. It is beautiful and so convenient. We pulled into underground garage to the hotel and everything was taken care of. Car was unloaded; check-in happens right there. The hotel was built with different wings and the elevators can be confusing. Nothing a little tour that they give doesn’t take care of. Actually the kids loved riding the different elevators. The hotel is located in the Mountain Village and is probably the most convenient hotel there from a location standpoint (although many are clustered togather). Everything is right outside the hotel. Ski valet right next to the ski school, dropping the kids off at ski school was super convenient and easy. They have ski boot locker and warmers in the lobby that makes coming and going convenient. You cannot beat the skiing in Telluride and the Fairmont makes it easy to enjoy. The hotel has great service. There is a well stocked game room downstairs for the kids – everything from pool, fooze ball, video games, air jockey and ping-pong. There is a spa and indoor/outdoor pool as well; didn’t get around to enjoying it. Was able to take advantage of the gym – has the basics but most people are probably outdoors. The gondola in Telluride makes it easy to go to dinner in Telluride and the location of the Fairmont makes walking to anything in Mountain Village possible. We’ll be going back again.

Can't say enough about this facility. Everything is within walking distance with all the comforts of home. We stayed in a 3 bedroom, fully furnished unit and could not have been more comfortable. Everything was first rate - down to the kitchen utensils! The rooms were a little warm, but we kept the windows slightly open and that did the trick. The staff was very friendly and helpful and ski lift was right outside the front door. Limo driver met us at the Montrose Airport with cold water and warm face towels - what a treat after a long flight. Mountain Village is located above the city of Telluride and there is a gondola in the middle of the plaza that is a 10 minute ride down into the city. Great amenities and rentals - highly recommend the Franz Klammer Lodge!

"Outstanding winter experience"

The Telluride Fairmont Franz Klammer Lodge is a fractional ownership property but it rents out space like a hotel. It is located just above the town of Telluride in Mountain Village dead center in a plaza facing the ski lift and your ski's are kept in a covered room even closer to the lift. The staff is 5 star. The Lodge has a full spa, several jacuzzi's, a pool, a modest weight room, free underground valet parking, a no tipping policy and concierge service for most of your wants or needs. The two and three bedroom suites are beautiful and clean. The location is near several restaurants and free gondolas go back and forth to Telluride or to a gourmet food store. A great experience in a great ski location.

"Service, quality, amenities all tops!"
02/02/14 Scott T Mesa, Arizona, United States
We have never stayed anywhere with such a combination of quality facilities, luxurious amenities and incredible service by a staff that truly seem to be happy to help! Being in the charming Mountain Village at gorgeous Telluride, Colorado didn't hurt the ambience, either. However, by far the most impressive aspect of our very enjoyable stay was the extremely pleasant attitudes of the team members. Their motto seems to be, "Whatever the guest needs, we will take care of it." It's my understanding that the Fairmont Franz Klammer has a no-tipping policy, which is nice for the guest, but I hope the employees are well paid in return for taking such superior care of us! We hope to be able to return.
"Lovely and Convenient--the Franz Klammer is a family favorite!"
01/31/14 SNnash Nashville
My family has stayed in the Franz Klammer many times since we started coming to Telluride for our ski vacations about 8 years ago and it is far and away our favorite place to stay. The location is superb and so convenient to skiing and to the rest of Mountain Village (love the ski valet!) You can easily get to the gondola that takes you to the village's grocery store and to the town of Telluride. The staff is friendly and very helpful--almost all staff members that we have encountered over the years have been more than happy to help with anything guests may need. The property is very well-maintained and has a great feel to it--very nice while not being stuffy or overdone. The daily maid service is a plus. We also love the indoor/outdoor heated pool and the outdoor hot tub and we have also visited the spa on occasion where we have received amazing massages! Our only complaint (and the ONLY reason for 4 stars rather than 5!) is that it seems that FK rates have continued to rise at a level that may make it difficult for our family to continue to stay there in the future--the rates are high and it seems that fewer "deals" are being offered for early booking, etc., which may be the sign of a somewhat improved economy, but it really gets expensive if you have school-age children and cannot travel during less expensive times of the year. But that is the only negative thing we can say about this fabulous property and always highly recommend it to our friends!
