"Perfect family ski vacation spot"
Service is fantastic, and location cannot be beat. You walk 100 yards to ski school, lift, & gondola. Concierge staff is very helpful with dinner reservations, etc.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Mountain Village location."
Right off the free gondola to the town of Telluride. The other free gondola will take you directly to a grocery store. No vehicle is needed once you arrive. In fact, the hotel will pick you up at the local airports.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Ski Vacation!"
This is our third stay at the Franz Klammer and we are always thrilled with the above and beyond service that we receive there. The entire staff is gracious and helpful, and do everything with a smile on their face. You just don't get that much anymore! They are not just helpful with the resources in the Lodge, but they are really knowledgeable about […] everything available in Telluride/Mountain Village. The rooms are always comfortable and spacious, and you just cannot beat this location. This is our first stay in winter, and the ski valet was a great service. Step off of the slopes and hand your skis off to a friendly Franz Klammer Ski Valet for storage. Walk to the slopes the next morning, and the ski valet has your skis ready for you to carry ten steps to the lift. Nothing could be easier! We had a great vacation and will definitely be back! "Expensive and not worth it"
12/19/14 Anne F Atlanta, Georgia
For the quality of amenities and lack of kindness from the lodge staff, I would not recommend it. Concierge was great. Cleanliness not good for the price one pays. Management team was prejudiced towards the owners not the guests. Owner services catered to the owners only, the rest of us (paying customers) were left out in the cold sot to speak.
"Perfect Accommodations in a Perfect Place"

We stay at Franz Klammer Lodge three weeks each year. The condos are large, attractive, comfortable and immaculate. The location is ideal . . . just steps from the slopes. The service is absolutely outstanding. Telluride is our favorite place, and we can't imagine staying anywhere else!

The Franz Klammer was a perfect place to stay for a ski holiday in Telluride. I loved the spa and outdoor Jacuzzi. It was wonderful to have the option to cook, and to be in such incredible proximity to skiing, the gondola into town, etc. Also major bonus to have Le Labo products in the bathroom! EnJOY!
"Perfect location, beautiful resort!"

We just returned frlm the Franz Klammer and Telluride. This was our first trip to Telluride and we fell in love. The beauty, cleanliness, fresh air, and most of all the mountain. Such an amazing place. The Klammer is an amazing resort. Ski in, ski out right on lift 4. My 4yr old just learned to ski in one day at the ski school. Skiing on her own with no assistance. I wss amazed at the school stsff and expertise. The accomodations were top knotch in every way. We stayed in a two bedroom/two bath luxury unit. When i say luxury I mean luxury. Nothing else needed or wanted. The service was spectacular as well. People were sweet, polite, went out of their way to ensure your stay was great. Fresh coffee and fruit everyday. Full kitchen for breakfast. World class restaurants everywhere. And free public transportation and shuttle service to and from the resort. When i speak public transportation, i mean free gondola and limo bus as a ride through town. Loved this place and will go back. The only thing not perfect was the temperature control in our unit. The heat works great. Too good actually. We had to keep the balcony door open to cool it off. But hey, id rathr be warm then cold in the winter. The Klammer and Telluride were awesome!
"Wonderful Place to stay in Telluride"

We arrived for a 3 day stay for our anniversary, hoping it wouldn't be too late in the year for some luxury accommodations, spectacular scenery, and hiking. We were not disappointed. The Franz Klammer was fantastic. Everything you could think of was in the room--from whole humidifiers to a steam shower to full size quality appliances in the complete kitchen. It was all clean and orderly, and very comfortable. The built-in Bluray surround sound system was a nice treat. The staff was friendly and prompt, and they were sure to keep us informed so that we never missed a reservation or appointment. We stayed on the 3rd floor, and still had some nice views from our window. Though it snowed on our first night, it was only about 3" new snow at the top of the ski area, and it added emphasis and beauty to the hikes. Our longest hike started from the hotel itself straight up under the gondola to town, along the See Forever trail, to the Wasatch connector, to the Bear Creek trail into town. It was a great ~10 mile hike and was simply stunning. The fact that you can immediately start on amazing hikes straight from the hotel was a nice surprise. The ONLY, and it is a minor low point, was the radiated heating system. When it was turned on, it produced a high-pitched whine in the living area. It wasn't loud, but it was enough for us to ask "what IS that strange sound?" There was an adjustable thermostat, and as we only needed the heat at night, we used it only at night and it wasn't audible in the bedrooms. This maybe a function of just our room. If someone is acutely noise sensitive, as we are, this might be an issue. It was still many times quieter than the average AC unit in a basic hotel. For my future Telluride visits, I will definitely check the Franz Klammer for availability and would highly recommend it to all my friends.
"Fall in Telluride is magical!"
10/13/14 Angela S Keller, Texas
Telluride is spectacular in the Fall! The Franz Klammer is a beautiful owner property located in Mountain Village. It's conveniently located near several restaurants, shops and both free gondolas. One gondola takes you to downtown Telluride and the other takes you to the grocery store. Both run from 7a-12 midnight. Although they will close for maintenance during off season starting around 10/18 until just before Thanksgiving. We were told most restaurants will close also during this time. We flew into Durango and drove the San Juan Skyway - an absolutely stunning drive to see during the Fall season. During ski season, it would be extremely convenient staying here with kids in ski school. Also during ski season, you can fly directly into Montrose and no car is necessary here with airport transportation provided and the free gondola access. The staff at Franz Klammer are exceptional! Every employee we came in contact with from the valets, Concierge, spa personnel, maintenance, etc. were extremely professional, courteous and helpful. Our unit was equipped with a steam shower that stopped working several days into our stay. It was conveniently scheduled for repair the next day while we were out on a long hike. Also, I casually mentioned to a staff member that there were no light switches outside of the master bedroom in our unit, and within 5 minutes a night light was delivered that solved the problem! Exceptional service!! The Concierge staff were great with booking dinner reservations, giving us important Telluride information and helpful tips on hiking trails. We couldn't have celebrated our 25th Anniversary in a more magical place! We would highly recommend the Fairmont Heritage Place - Franz Klammer to everyone! Best place to view sunset is on either Floor 4 or 5 on hot tub decks!
"Great all year round 5 star destination"
10/13/14 Yanks11 New York City, New York
We have been going to the Fairmont/Franz Klammer for 20 years and it is a jewel. At 9400 sq feet, you are at the base of the incomparable Telluride Ski resort and San Juan Mountains. In 20+ years, we have never waited more than 7 minutes for a lift, and usually ski right on. And we go on holiday weeks when it is the most crowded. In winter, ski on and off with a ski valet 30 feet from the lift and walk across the mountain village square with crepes, and hot dogs and real dogs, a bungee trampoline, a fire pit right into the Fairmont where you are greeted by a roaring fire, hot coffee or a nip and a smile from the incredible staff. Later, go to the spa or 4 outdoor hot tubs and enjoy the breathtaking views of the snow capped peaks. Have dinner in your full, modern kitchen and dining room with a fire burning in your room or take the free gondola for an incredible view into downtown Telluride with western charm, neat stores and myriad gourmet restaurants. If you come in the summer, substitute horseback riding, hiking, golf, and fly fishing for skiing. It is a magic place and resort.
"Fall weekend in Telluride"
10/09/14 sisqo knoxville, tn
Telluride is breathtaking! The massive mountain range surrounds the town. We stayed in Mountain Village which is above the town of Telluride. The Fairmont is located in the quaint village along with other boutique hotels. We never had to use our car because of the free public gondola that takes you into town. It was so easy to get anywhere from 7:00am to 12:00pm. We hiked the gorgeous, strenuous trails, golfed, shopped and soaked in the most beautiful place on earth!! The Fairmont is fabulous! It is a condo property and has a no tipping policy, with still, the happiest, most helpful employees. The units are gorgeous with top of the line appliances, granite, luxurious furnishings, steam shower, soaking tubs, each bedroom has its own huge bathroom and washer and dryers. There is no air conditioning which would be my only complaint. The living area has a fireplace and there is a patio. The pool is really nice too. The club is really nice with coffee and tea all day long. There are comfy couches and chairs with a huge fireplace. The concierge are very helpful too. We had the best massages and would recommend the spa. You need to stay three days or more because you really never want to leave the luxurious resort. The Mountain Village has a great grocery/wine store. You can walk, take the gondola or drive two minutes to the store. I can not explain the beauty of the San Juan mountains. Telluride is very pet friendly with dog bowls outside of stores, restaurants, etc. the Fairmont is pet friendly too. The 4 restaurants we ate at were fabulous!! Eat at Allred's at the top of the mountain-the views, ambience, staff, food-wow! A five minute gondola up the mountain-stay on- and a10 minute down ride to the shops in a Telluride. A lot of hikes start from downtown which was fun to hike and then eat lunch. The Mountain Village has a huge stone courtyard are with tables, couches and firepits. We are summer outdoor activity people, but Telluride is supposedly the hidden gem for skiing. There are so many ski in and out from the Village area. They have opened some more trails this year for backcountry skiers. Getting to Telluride, you will fly to Denver (5 hours away), or Montrose (1 hour away) We were told shuttles run to airports in winter. Then you never need a car again -due to gondola. Lastly, like most mountain villages in Colorado, their offseason is October 20-November 20. This means employees take their vacations, restaurants close, gondola closes, stores close, so maybe plan around that time. Please visit Telluride and the Fairmont - you will not be disappointed. We almost never left!!
"A Great Resort Destination for any Pet(Dog) owner."
09/23/14 wicky2014 Palm Beach Gardens, Florida
From the moment we arrived we felt we are at the right place to be for the next 6 days. We had our Labradors with us and the Resort is well equipped to welcome pet owners. The entire staff was very accommodating, out going and very willing to please. The Concierge staff was always able to assist us with any type of information about the areas hiking trails etc. The entire team signed a Birthday Card for me. The Housekeeping staff was very good in keeping our Residence in very good shape the entire time. This is definitely a Resort to recommend to all our friends and for us to go back and visit. Well done, and keep up the good work.
"Incredible Hotel in a Nice Ski Village"
09/16/14 Todd H Los Angeles, California
We visited Telluride with two of our friends we usually travel with. I got an amazing deal on a three bedroom suite, but too bad we only had two couples with us so one room sat empty. Telluride's elevation is very high, one of our friends was getting altitude sickness on the drive from the airport and luckily they have an oxygen bar at the hotel. Our suite was so nice and spacious, way larger than our condo back home. We've always had great stays at any of the Fairmont properties, this was no exception. The location is great too, right in the village, walking distance to many restaurants and shops. We were close to the gondola and were able to see a lot of the town easily. We even met Ralph Lauren in town walking his dog. We also took a jeep tour which took us way up the mountain to see some incredible views, I highly recommend doing a tour if weather permits. I just wish we stayed longer, a few nights was not enough.
