"Two Night Stay at Wicker Park"
12/10/14 Richland34 Ballwin, Missouri
After staying 4 nights in The City over Thanksgiving, I found that I needed to stay two more nights for business. Unfortunately, a radiology convention had caused a HUGE surge in occupancy and left the very scarce inventory at $400+. And that was for a 2-3* room. So, I had to be resourceful and look for other alternatives which is how I found Wicker Park. We'd never spent time in this part of town so it was new for us. Spent much of the time in the room working the first day and in meetings the second day. Can't say much about the neighborhood, but I can say that the room was very good. Nice clean bathroom with good shower. I really liked the way they served their lite breakfast. Serve yourself after the food is put out by the site manager. Staff was friendly and helpful but not intrusive.

Myself and a co-worker stayed in a multi-bedroom rental at Wicker Park. The staff was professional, the rooms clean, and it was nice to have a real "home" feel instead of just another hotel. The area was nice as well.

We stayed one night after the Thanksgiving holiday and highly recommend this unassuming brick building in Wicker Park! The Wicker Park Room was surprisingly spacious, the bed was perfect, and the fireplace was the crowning jewel. The weather outside was frightful, especially for us Southerners, but the fireplace saved our frozen souls! The innkeeper was super helpful with dinner and bar options, and the location was perfect for a decompressing from our 3 night stay in the middle of downtown. After the hubub of Chicago on turkey day, Wicker Park & Milwaukee Ave were a funky dream we hated to wake from...
"A haven in the hippest hood"

We visited the Wicker Park Inn over a year ago & only now am i getting round to reviewing. Don't let that put you off. We had a wonderful time. The staff were very accomodating - we had a late flight the day we were checking out & we were very kindly allowed to leave out bags at the Inn & return for them later, so that we didn't have to spend the day carting our belongings around the city. We were staying in the garden apartment across the street. It was quiet, clean & very comfortable - everything we were looking for. The location is excellent if you are wanting to be out of the city centre & in the 'hippest hood' that is Wicker Park. We found plenty of great places to eat & drink just on our doorstep. The inn is in the middle of a couple of L train stops, and it is very easy to get in & out of the city centre.

My partner and myself stayed in the Garden Apartment and had a wonderful and comfortable 4 night stay. The apt was very clean and the beds were comfortable. I would absolutely stay there again. The room was nicely decorated as well. I also loved the street the inn is located on. It was like staying in a regular neighborhood and one got the feel of living in Chicago rather then being a tourist. It was defiantly my cup of tea. There is a train near by to get you to the center of the city. It was all very convenient.
"Good facility, Horrible service...."

Our family stayed at the Wicker Park Inn for the weekend of my daughter's wedding. When I reserved the 3-bedroom apartment, I asked for a late checkout on Sunday so that we could prepare an after-wedding breakfast for bride & groom and both families.and was told I could not get it until I checked in. When I checked in and asked for late checkout I was told they had granted the next reservation early check-in...I was advised I should have asked earlier. I was then told that housekeeping usually came between 10 AM and 2 PM but other arrangements could be made if necessary. I asked for housekeeping could come after 3 on the day of the wedding so that we could all get ready, and was told that would be fine. The first day housekeeping came while we were all there and just came in and replaced towels while we were in the apartment. The day of the wedding they never came at all, leaving us with the detritus of 5 people getting ready for a wedding when we got back to the apartment late that night, and expecting 6 guests for breakfast. We threw all the wet towels into a back hallway where housekeeping would find them later. Then, ten minutes before checkout the housekeeper showed up asking if we needed clean towels and if she could come in and get our linens. I said no, leaving her a bit disconcerted, but I was not going to interrupt the final moments of our wedding festivities for housekeeping that should have been done the day before and after our checkout. All in all, horrible service for a room that we paid a high fee to occupy. Will we stay there again? Absolutely not!
"Convenient and Comfortable"

I chose WPI because it was within walking distance of my family and it had good reviews. It has a nice residential feel and is very close to shopping, restaurants and the train. I stayed in the Blue Line Studio that has an outside entrance behind the Inn. The room met my needs and I liked the private entrance. The train passes behind the Inn so I wore ear plugs and had absolutely no problem sleeping. I would definitely stay here again for my next visit.
"As good as it gets in Chicago"

Recently traveled to Chicago for the Northwestern Football Game. After looking at hundreds of motels that were way too expensive I gathered a list of ten B&B's that were close to the El and not too pricey. The first 9 were booked(thank heavens) but the last one had just had a cancelation the night before. The Inn was in a great location just a few blocks off the freeway and hidden on a little block of row houses just a few blocks from the El. Parking was on the street but it was not a problem. Robin couldn't have been more helpful with lots of tips on what to do and what to eat. The room wasn't fancy but very adequate and while the breakfast wasn't hot, there was plenty of fresh fruit, fresh banana bread, bagels and cereal. Wicker Park was a neat little neighborhood with plenty of restaurants, bars, and little shops. I even had my first goat meat at a curry shop. I would recommend this place to any one who is looking for a quiet, friendly, place to stay only a few subway stops from down town Chicago.
"Charming, Cozy and Comfortable!"

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a delightful 4 night stay at the Wicker Park Inn. The location, only a 5 minute walk from the Blue Line, is on a lovely tree-lined street in a fun and vibrant neighborhood with great nightlife and shopping. The Inn is very well appointed, the breakfast is heartier hthan most B&B's in a similar price range, and our room -- the Wicker Park room -- hit the three big C's: charming, cozy and comfortable. I can't recommend this place enough -- a true Chicago gem!
