For the money, this is a very nice hotel. We booked it to be near the Monet museum (18 miles is not too close, but it was the closest hotel we could... find that was open). The proprietor was gracious and welcoming, and his (American) Enlish impeccable. The room was basic but clean and very comfortable. The staff I met were friendly. The free breakfast was outstanding. We stayed here on our journey back to Spain. We had stayed at the Rouen Campanile a month earlier on our way to the UK, and had been impressed with the stay, and therefore booked at Evreaux and Hendaye for our return journey, rather than choosing another chain. The room was fine, clean and warm (which was important as the weather was dire!) However, […] we felt let down by the restaurant experience. We had enjoyed the meal at Rouen very much, but Evreaux did not match it. The service was very off hand. We were the only people in the restaurant and we had the distinct impression we were disturbing the two staff members by wanting to eat. We ordered the "plat du jour" and received the meal with just a few lukewarm potatoes on the side. Previously (and since) we had fresh greens also served with the meal. Finding a member of staff to complain to was more effort than it was worth, and as we were tired we ate our meal and left. Overall the hotel was fine and the restaurant lived up to expectations. The main problem was in finding the hotel. We had a lot of difficulty as the directions to the hotel did not include the general area (Madeleine) and it took us an hour and a quarter to find the hotel from the centre of Evreux after enlisting the aid of a local lady (who spoke English) […] and a taxi driver. OK, so you don't tend to stay at Campanile motels for the cuisine, but we were tired and just wanted something quick and tasty. Bizarrely the menu we were given was in multiple languages, including English, but the waitress didn't understand what we were asking for until we asked in French. The food was unexciting, though edible, but the service was […] diabolical. The waitress didn't seem to want to serve us at all - difficult to get more drinks, took forever to get any food. And it was very expensive, considering the average quality and small quantity of food. La réputation de la gamme campanile est loin. Un rouleau de papier hygiénique poser sur le rebord des toilettes car le distributeur était cassé, la moitié des lumières étaient fonctionnelles et une tête de lit qui s'effondre en guide de réveil. J'avais plus l'impression d'être dans un formule 1 que dans un campanile.

Équipements de l’hôtel assez réduits pour un 2*. Pas d'entretien de la chambre, pas de changements de serviettes sous prétexte qu'ils avaient perdus le double de la clef. Buffet du restaurant restreint car problèmes de livraison.Emplacement facile d’accès à la sortie de la ville.

Ayant prévu d'arriver de nuit, j'ai contacté la réception qui m'a indiqué une procédure me permettant d'obtenir la clé de la chambre à l'automate de réception automatique. Cette procédure n'a pas fonctionné et nous avons donc du rebrousser chemin...

la salle de bain n etait pas tres propre il y avait une forte odeur d urine (ch ambre 19) je tiens a ajouter que je me rends dans d autres canpanile ,il n y a rien a redire
