My hubby and I stayed here and were very pleased with the room & the hotel staff. Everyone was friendly and accomodating. The bed & pillows were very comfortable and the room super clean. This hotel is lovely and perfectly situated to walk just about anywhere in London.The accommodations were terrific except for the broken thermostat in the room.The restaurants were terrific, the staff very kind, and the location was absolutely perfect!! Would definitely stay here again.

Superb location and value-business club with other locations in New York and Boston. Very nice lobby bar with afternoon tea, small plates and lovely service. Great staff- Check in upon am arrival from US was a welcome surprise. Tube across street. 1 block from Thames and National Gallery!

The location of the hotel is unbelievable! Close to everything- The Strand, Whitehall, West End, and the river. We especially enjoyed getting to know Alex, one of the hotel managers, who was great.

This is not a full- service hotel, no restaurant, but not an issue with plentiful coffee shops and restaurants in the vicinity. Very clean and modern, large room ( for London) and superb location. Price was very reasonable.

I stayed at The Grand for 6 nights on a business trip and found it to be very nice. I would definitely recommend it. The staff was very friendly, the bar was chic, the room and bed was very comfortable - and it was only a 3 minute walk from the nearest tube stop. Walking distance to Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, Covent Gardens, Big Ben and the London Eye. Coming from California, this was a great place to stay if you want to be in the hub of London. Bed was clean and comfortable, bathroom was a good size too. We would stay here again.

Nothing to say about the location which is good (but then again there are other hotels around that location and much better at similar price). The biggest disappointment was the temperature of the room. I visited in November 2012 and their heating system is very bad. I was told to leave the heat on while not in the room to get the room warm but the […] maids made sure to turn it off so I came back to a glacial room. Did not use other services but the hotel had a bad smell in the lobby (food mixed with vinegar). The reception is placed on the right of the entrance and is weird. I had to ask around about the reception. Overall I wish now I had booked St Martin's Lane - same location much better services at similar price. Read more

Room without a window so you feel as you are in basement. Completely claustrophobic and depressing. No control for the room temperature - even in November room is too hot. Will never stay at Grand Hotel.

The Grand was fantastic for my recent five day stay (November 2012). The room was quite comfortable including a queen size bed, desk and chair. The hotel is close to two great tube stops-Charing Cross & Embankment. I had a direct tube ride to all of my meetings throughout London. It is also block from a bridge with a beautiful view of the London Eye, […] Big Ben and Parliament. On the opposite side, you are a block away from Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery and a 15 minute walk to Piccadilly Circus. Very good location and very "British" style. But at the same time - lots of details that lower the overall impression - no bathrobes, no heating in room, blowing out of the windows. Actually, there was air conditioner placed under the bed (just imagine electro-magnetic fields), but with no heating function.

All in all, a fine stay for a business trip. Strong wifi connection was a huge plus but the rooms particularly on the 2nd floor were very minimal and needed updating. I got moved to the 3rd floor per my request for a quieter room and those were better and more updated, including the hallways. Did not realize the lobby restaurant is not part of the hotel […] but they were kind enough to let me bring my coffee, mug upstairs etc. Checking in was a little clumsy for me...they did not seem welcoming at all and checkout I noticed a small but time consuming line formed in the morning. All in all, I would still stay here for convenience, free wifi and it's lower cost. Read more

This hotel has a great location, comfortable beds and a helpful staff. Our return flight was not until 6 :00 pm and the hotel stored our luggage so we could enjoy the hours before we had to leave for the airport.
