very clean and home like. Like living in an aparatment bldg. I felt safe staying there even though all units had outside entrance doors. I would stay again.

Upon arrival the clerk at the front desk was attentive and polite. The room itself was very spacious, clean, and quiet. The location is peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of any busy street. The bed was soft and pillows comfortable. Overall, a pleasant experience.

I've been attending SXSW since 2001 as an out of towner. I've tried tons of hotel combinations over the course of 12 years. Hotel Allandale has by far been the best experience ever. All of the rooms are two room suites apartment style. One bedrooms and two bedrooms offer separate full kitchens and spacious rooms. There's a Walmart around the corner […] to stock up on groceries. Hotels.com says it's 10 miles from the downtown convention center but it's really about 7 The monorail is 5 minutes away by car and the hotel is on the R&R shuttle route Even in the thick of SXSW the rates are decent. Again I am a very experienced with SXSW and a hotels.com platinum traveler this diamond in the rough is amazing. Read more

Quiet neighborhood. Room is designed to look and feel like an apartment with fully equipped kitchen. Smells mildewy. Furniture and appliances are outdated. Skip the free breakfast, which consists of only frozen Jimmy Dean. Staff seems nice and friendly. Overall, not worth the price I paid for imo. You get more value at one of the chain hotels.

Was looking for a relaxing one night stay in Austin, and I found it! Clean, comfortable room that's an apartment. Lots of space to stretch out and relax. Neighborhood is quiet and near shopping and restaurants. 10 minutes from downtown Austin.

It was marred by a power cut in the district which had not been fixed at time of departure, so it is difficult to make fair comment on the stay. Extensive road construction on Route 183 made it difficult to access the hotel the first time. The front desk staff were very helpfull indeed.

The room was comfortable and the hotel nice. One of the nights we had a power outage that lasted from late afternoon until sometime the next day. We were only able to use the room to sleep. No lights, appliances, hot water, etc. We had to find an alternative solutions for showering the next day. The hotel did not see fit to give a discount or refund […] a portion of the cost because it was an act of God. I feel regardless of the reason for the power outage, the hotel was not able to be used as it should have and the general manager should have acknowledged that and proved a partial refund. After all they sure were not paying for power that night. Because of that I will not stay there again. Read more

The place was nice and roomy. Love that they are pet friendly. My only issue is that they close the pool/jacuzzi area too early on a Saturday night. We had a 2 room suite for our family. Having the kitchen and extra living area was great. It was still a little chilly to enjoy the pool, but maybe on our next trip. Only suggestion would be to better equip the kitchen with a couple more pots with lids, dish cloths and pot holders.

This hotel was very spacious, clean, and not too far from downtown. There is a Walmart and Walgreens within walking distance as well as several restaurants. My family and I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel has a pool and bikes you can rent. Though we didn't use the kitchen, it was nice to know that the kitchen has the pots pans and utensiles you would need. The bedroom with the double beds was a little small for double beds but that nice livingroom spaces helps make up for that. The beds were comfortable. The hotel is directly behind a wal-mart […] and a few food places. Though the wal-mart closes at 1am, there is a tigermart open all night where you can grab snacks. Its all in walking distance, you just have to walk around the fence surrounding the hotel area. I was pleased with the hotel and glad to have found it. It was quiet the nights we were there. It's far from downtown but in a good location for what we were doing. If you like beer but don't like the noise of the bars downtown, you should stop by the Flying Saucer which isn't too much of a drive from this hotel. Read more

Very friendly and responsive hotel staff. M&M's and popcorn at check-in are a nice touch, maybe they could have a healthy selection also. I did like the big bowl of apples on the front counter. This is an older Apartment complex that has been converted to a hotel/condos. The hotel staff is exceptional; however, the rooms need a considerable amount of updating. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the room was clean. The walls and ceiling in the bathroom and changing area show evidence of water damage. The furniture and decor look very old.

My lock was messed up on my door and maintenance took care of it right away. The maid service was great. They even washed my dishes and ran the dishwasher. The decor is a bit dated but for the price and the space I was very pleased.

This place is great. Hotel Allendale is actually an apartment building. I rented a 1-bedroom, and I felt so much more at home than I feel in a regular hotel room.
