"A bit of Scotland in Israel"
Great location and friendly staff. They arranged the BEST tour guide for us. Morris was his name. The only negative for us was it was not handicap friendly. Otherwise loved it.

"Not good, very disappointed."
We all were very disappointed, we had read very positive comments about this hotel only to discover the rooms were not updated, not clean, no blankets, so we slept with our coats on, for the most expensive hotel we stayed at, this was not what we expected. Also, the restaurant was closed for dinner so they offered to put place mats on the round tables in the bar to eat. The room had no TV changer, when I called the maintenance person came and got on his stomach and searched under the bed. The grounds were nice, they even opened the workout facility early which was nice, but for their reputation, they clearly have their eye off the ball, a update is needed. The American Colony in Jerusalem and the Norman in Tel Aviv were head and shoulders better.

"Friendly, unique hotel with a few rough spots"
Arrival was a little confusing, since it is not clear where to park. (You have to pull up to the gate and buzz reception.) Parking can be very tight, but the staff will assist in squeezing you into a space. The front desk's clerk could not have been more friendly, and he spoke perfect English. He gave us all the details about the hotel from memory -- opening times and locations for the restaurant, spa, etc. The room, though acceptable, was showing signs of age. Indeed, the room's hotel services directory heralded the upcoming arrival of their new spa...coming in 2008! Needless to say, these pages were not in good condition, and it's high time this book was updated. Wifi in the room was awful, and was so slow (or even nonexistent at times), such that I found it usable. Bar prices were knock-your-socks-off expensive. The hotel boasts a wide selection of different types of scotch, but we didn't think it was worth the money. There are plenty of more reasonably priced bars in proximity. Breakfast was the best we had in Israel. The buffet offered fresh-brewed coffee, an egg station, and a wide selection of pastries, breads, and meats. Tiberias was packed. And yet, despite all the noise, gridlock, and general hustle and bustle, the hotel provided a peaceful sanctuary while still being within easy walking distance of all the action. I would return.

"Scots hotel"
Good but not great hotel. Very pretty old buildings but only fair rooms. Rooms on smaller side but clean and overall comfortable. Nice breakfast buffet and staff helpful. Probably the best choice to stay in Tiberius .

"Say it isn't so"
Disappointing stay at the Scot's Hotel. Expedia charged us $525.00 for an exclusive room for 3 people. This is a joke. 3 Adults cannot fit in this room. Bugs in the room. The front desk was rude and condescending. Will never stay there again.

"Poor overall value for the money"
This hotel is way overpriced. The pictures on the Hotels.com website are not consistent with what you actually get. Our room for 3 showed 3 separate beds on the website. We ended up with 2 beds and a couch that was too short for our 17 year old boy. The website upcharged substantially for this but when we got there we were told that the third bed upgrade was another substantial fee. The room was very small. I have nothing to compare this hotel to in Tiberias but the room size we received for the rate we paid is exorbitant compared to hotels we have stayed in throughout Europe and the Middle East. Also, if you are interested in actually getting into the Sea of Galilee, they have no beachfront access. The breakfast buffet was top notch.

"Strangely run"
Lovely historic hotel and grounds are beautiful. Staff we found were mostly unhelpful, even bordering on rudeness in a couple of instances. They certainly did not put themselves out to help. Dinner and breakfast were self service....no one offered us wine or drinks. Usually hotels serve coffee etc at breakfast and offer a wine list at dinner! A nice pool but opening hours are kept secret. We watched from the gardens as many hopeful swimmers were turned back as the pool had closed. So mainly surly staff but nice gardens. A 5 star hotel run as if it was a hostel is how we would describe it.

"Scots Tiberius"
The hotel is truly lovely with delightful well kept gardens and a fabulous pool area. Great breakfast and best fresh mint and lemonade drink we have ever had. Upgrade to Antique rooms if you can. They have character rather than the generic bland rooms in the new building. Tiberius is very tired but the surrounding countryside is beautiful

Bar closes early. Close to the promenade which is very nice. Spectacular views. Adjacent spa very average but has nice artwork. Bought a painting. For those room rates (some of the most expensive in Tiberias). internet access should be included without a ridiculous complicated user name/password that must be hand delivered to your room. The extra charge for that service is insulting and should be deleted.

"Beautiful gardens and great food"
Despite a somewhat non-friendly welcome by the young and not very professional receptionists, we enjoyed our stay at SCott's Hotel. The garden is beautiful, and we tried the evening buffet, which was excellent. Also, great pool and spa area. With a bette service attitude, this could be a very good place.

"Lovely hotel but little things spoil it"
The hotel is very well finished, ideal for a quiet break in peaceful Galilee. Food is excellent but service was poor for the money we paid ($450 per night for standard (unique) room). Most waiting staff spoke very little English (didn't know spoon, tap water etc) which made things tricky! $70 each for evening buffet meal but coffee was then extra! Not quite what we expected for the money.

"Definently a nice experience."
After a week with 4 different hotels, this was amazing. Right from the receival in the reception during check-in to the attentive waiter in the restaurant. The service was amazing, the food was high quality with an eye for details and the surroundings was beautiful and comfortable. We will definitely recommend this hotel for the future. The price of our stay matched the level of the hotel, especially when compared with other hotels.

"Magnificent Building"
01/29/16 Scott T London, United Kingdom
My first impression of this hotel was of the professionalism of the staff, there was a tour group of middle aged traveler's who all had ridiculous and in some cases mutually exclusive issues they all wanted sorted right away. The staff were calm and tried their best to appease these idiots whilst trying to check us (and others in) among the commotion. The rooms were very comfortable and we had a decent view of the lake from our window. The gardens are quite tranquil and the garden swing were a nice addition. As we stayed on a Saturday there was no other option but to eat in the restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality (and quantity of the food).

Gorgeous and classy boutique hotel, although not very small, located in charming old stone houses with superb views of the lake. Room was simply perfect. Restaurant was delicious both at dinner and breakfast (clearly the best food in Tiberias). Hotel grounds and private beach are beautiful and well maintained. One of the best hotels in the country.

One of the best Hotels in Israel and in Tiberias for sure! Good staff, very nice and hospitable, they give free tours of the hotel and its history. wine tasting in the hotel's wine cellar. Breakfast and Dinner buffets are fantastic and has a huge variety (it's not kosher), Rooms are pretty spacious and comfortable - we slept on one of the top floors so we had a amazing view to the sea of Galilee. surrounding is quit. I am not a fan of Tiberias Hotels but - this hotel is a main reason to go back there.

"Very nice stay in a unique place!"

The hotel is very special, you can feel its historic and it has a great story behind it. Staff was very nice and hospitable- they give free tours of the hotel and its history and wine tasting in the hotel's wine cellar. Rooms are pretty spacious- we slept on one of the top floors so we had a amazing view to the sea of Galilee. Breakfast is fantastic and has a huge variety (it's not kosher), dinner could have been a bit better, but still satisfying. Keep in mind that the stay isn't cheap and the age average at the hotel is pretty high (at least when we stayed) so the bar was quite empty at night and the hotels entertainment was Opera singers. Nonetheless, had a great stay! and all guests were very friendly and we had great chats during the wine tasting.

"Just as a hotel in historic Israel should be"
01/10/16 jessehermann New York City, New York
We spent two nights at the Scots hotel during our December family trip to Israel. The rooms were not over the top extraordinary, but the hotel was. Walk past the front desk into the hotel's courtyard and it is exactly as you'd imagine a historic hotel should be in Israel. The breakfast was terrific as well. It was a sanctuary after a busy day of traveling. Really enjoyed it and glad we paid up for the nicer spot.

"Exceeded our expectations"
01/07/16 Otto W San Antonio
After staying at the Waldorf in Jerusalem, we weren't sure what to expect at the Scots in Tiberias. In short, it exceeded our expectations. It is a quiet time of year so the hotel was very quiet. We had a room overlooking the Sea of Galilee. Our room was well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. Since the hotle is reportedly owned and managed by the Church of Scotland the bar offered what must be one of the best choices of single malt whiskey. The breakfast buffet was large and offered great variety. Service throughout the hotel is friendly and helpful.

The hotel is lovely with fantastic views of the Sea of Galilee. It has a nice pool and spa. The food is OK but we were not as impressed as we thought we would be. The buffet also has limited hours for dinner. The rooms are lovely but are starting to look a bit worn. Service is friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
