"Not good, very disappointed."
We all were very disappointed, we had read very positive comments about this hotel only to discover the rooms were not updated, not clean, no blankets, so we slept with our coats on, for the most expensive hotel we stayed at, this was not what we expected. Also, the restaurant was closed for dinner so they offered to put place mats on the round tables in the bar to eat. The room had no TV changer, when I called the maintenance person came and got on his stomach and searched under the bed. The grounds were nice, they even opened the workout facility early which was nice, but for their reputation, they clearly have their eye off the ball, a update is needed. The American Colony in Jerusalem and the Norman in Tel Aviv were head and shoulders better.

"Friendly, unique hotel with a few rough spots"
Arrival was a little confusing, since it is not clear where to park. (You have to pull up to the gate and buzz reception.) Parking can be very tight, but the staff will assist in squeezing you into a space. The front desk's clerk could not have been more friendly, and he spoke perfect English. He gave us all the details about the hotel from memory -- opening times and locations for the restaurant, spa, etc. The room, though acceptable, was showing signs of age. Indeed, the room's hotel services directory heralded the upcoming arrival of their new spa...coming in 2008! Needless to say, these pages were not in good condition, and it's high time this book was updated. Wifi in the room was awful, and was so slow (or even nonexistent at times), such that I found it usable. Bar prices were knock-your-socks-off expensive. The hotel boasts a wide selection of different types of scotch, but we didn't think it was worth the money. There are plenty of more reasonably priced bars in proximity. Breakfast was the best we had in Israel. The buffet offered fresh-brewed coffee, an egg station, and a wide selection of pastries, breads, and meats. Tiberias was packed. And yet, despite all the noise, gridlock, and general hustle and bustle, the hotel provided a peaceful sanctuary while still being within easy walking distance of all the action. I would return.

"Scots hotel"
Good but not great hotel. Very pretty old buildings but only fair rooms. Rooms on smaller side but clean and overall comfortable. Nice breakfast buffet and staff helpful. Probably the best choice to stay in Tiberius .

"Poor overall value for the money"
This hotel is way overpriced. The pictures on the Hotels.com website are not consistent with what you actually get. Our room for 3 showed 3 separate beds on the website. We ended up with 2 beds and a couch that was too short for our 17 year old boy. The website upcharged substantially for this but when we got there we were told that the third bed upgrade was another substantial fee. The room was very small. I have nothing to compare this hotel to in Tiberias but the room size we received for the rate we paid is exorbitant compared to hotels we have stayed in throughout Europe and the Middle East. Also, if you are interested in actually getting into the Sea of Galilee, they have no beachfront access. The breakfast buffet was top notch.

"Strangely run"
Lovely historic hotel and grounds are beautiful. Staff we found were mostly unhelpful, even bordering on rudeness in a couple of instances. They certainly did not put themselves out to help. Dinner and breakfast were self service....no one offered us wine or drinks. Usually hotels serve coffee etc at breakfast and offer a wine list at dinner! A nice pool but opening hours are kept secret. We watched from the gardens as many hopeful swimmers were turned back as the pool had closed. So mainly surly staff but nice gardens. A 5 star hotel run as if it was a hostel is how we would describe it.

"Scots Tiberius"
The hotel is truly lovely with delightful well kept gardens and a fabulous pool area. Great breakfast and best fresh mint and lemonade drink we have ever had. Upgrade to Antique rooms if you can. They have character rather than the generic bland rooms in the new building. Tiberius is very tired but the surrounding countryside is beautiful

Bar closes early. Close to the promenade which is very nice. Spectacular views. Adjacent spa very average but has nice artwork. Bought a painting. For those room rates (some of the most expensive in Tiberias). internet access should be included without a ridiculous complicated user name/password that must be hand delivered to your room. The extra charge for that service is insulting and should be deleted.

"Beautiful gardens and great food"
Despite a somewhat non-friendly welcome by the young and not very professional receptionists, we enjoyed our stay at SCott's Hotel. The garden is beautiful, and we tried the evening buffet, which was excellent. Also, great pool and spa area. With a bette service attitude, this could be a very good place.

"Lovely hotel but little things spoil it"
The hotel is very well finished, ideal for a quiet break in peaceful Galilee. Food is excellent but service was poor for the money we paid ($450 per night for standard (unique) room). Most waiting staff spoke very little English (didn't know spoon, tap water etc) which made things tricky! $70 each for evening buffet meal but coffee was then extra! Not quite what we expected for the money.

"Definently a nice experience."
After a week with 4 different hotels, this was amazing. Right from the receival in the reception during check-in to the attentive waiter in the restaurant. The service was amazing, the food was high quality with an eye for details and the surroundings was beautiful and comfortable. We will definitely recommend this hotel for the future. The price of our stay matched the level of the hotel, especially when compared with other hotels.

O hotel é bonito, bem localizado, mas o buffet do jantar além de ser caríssimo, a qualidade da comida é abaixo da critica.

The luxurious Scots hotel was established by the Scottish Church in 2004 in the historical compound of the Scottish Hospital, and uniquely combines the 19th century basalt buildings with a modern and up to date hotel of international standards. Our room was in front of the ocean. The food, the people, unique.

"Very clean and excellent service "

We came here only for one night. I was afraid after my experience at a hotel in the Dead Sea. But when I enter the hotel I notice that they have the best service, everyone here is there to help you. The rooms are very clean, everything is in order and the smell of freshness when you enter your room is delicious. Smells fresh and clean. Bed is very comfortable and nice sheets to. I highly recommend this hotel. You'll love it.

"Fun, but eccentric"

This is a great way to see Galilee. This charming historic hotel has very nice rooms, terrific gardens, unbelievable views, adequate linens and a nice breakfast buffet and bar area. The wifi simply does not exist and the temperature control in the rooms is unreliable. The staff are nice and try to be helpful, but you get the impression that many of them have little idea what they are supposed to be doing. All in all, this place is great and will be a memorable stop for you. It is expensive and the service doesn't really reach international standards, but you just can not beat the location, views and sincerity of the place.

"Nice Hotel on the Sea of Galilee"

We stayed at the Scots for 3 nights on a recent trip to Israel. It is a very interesting property with a lot of history. The rooms, while not fancy, are clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are good. There is a buffet dinner offered and the bar has good food and drinks. There is a swimming pool and the location of the hotel is good.

"One of the best hotels in Israel"
07/08/15 Loves-A-Deal-2-Eat Ventura, California
Our church group was touring Israel, so we stayed in 5 different hotels. This was one of the best. I especially recommend it for its buffet dinners. The selections are fabulous. They hold nothing back. Wonderful cheeses, breads, meats, salads, etc. The rooms/beds are comfortable, the service is polite and prompt, and the grounds are beautiful with views of the Sea of Galilee (so peaceful as the sun comes up). The hotel has so much character since it used to be a hospital and doctor's home. There's an Aroma Coffee Cafe within walking distance (which I highly recommend ordering the Aroma Coffee with a chocolate in it). I just can't say enough about this fabulous hotel with unique charms. I highly recommend it.

"Need to focus on customer service"
07/04/15 Robert S Scottsdale, Arizona
We recently spent two nights a this hotel and found the employee attitudes "lacking". This is a nice property from a physical plant perspective but it ends there. When we checked in and went to our room we found one bottle of water. We called the front desk and asked for another and were told only one is allowed. We stated that there are two of us but were abruptly told "no, you only get one". We then went to the lounge for dinner. we ordered some starters and a main. We asked that the starters be brought first and were quickly and abruptly told "no, we serve them all at once". We started to wonder, are we in Tiberias at a five star hotel or on Mars? The next day we made another request for two bottles of water and got the same response. We informed our guide of the experiences and she had a discussion with the manager who quickly called us and was very apologized profusely and sent us a complimentary bottle of champagne and some snacks. His response was very much appreciated but the attitude of the employees needs to change. Our other observation was at the breakfast buffet. The chef at the egg station was not always around and then I observed him coughing as he was preparing some eggs. None of the employees seemed as though they wanted to be there...seemed to begrudge doing their job. Unfortunately, this is one of the better hotels in the area but it needs a serious attitude adjustment. We were traveling for 31 days, 4 countries and 14 hotels...very disappointed with our stay here. If you end up here lower your expectations of service. Also, we met another couple in the hotel that was having the same experience.

"The best hotel in Israel-(and we have been in most)"
07/04/15 Adrienne724 Herzlia, Israel
You are greeted with cider and dates. Your room is available immediately (despite the fact its only 1). In the Cremin jerusalem we waited till 4 for example. The spa treatment (ask for Yelena) was sublime. The room fresh and lovely, the food-2 meals, gourmet and incomparable. The entertainment-suzy miller, great fun. Breakfast- huge choice. Everything was perfect, costs a lot, but if you can do it- dont miss it. Wow.

"Nice location and accommodations, the staff could have a bit more courteous."

The location of this hotel is very appealing, the rooms are clean and quiet. The service especially at the restaurant, unfortunately was a bit lacking in the sense that the staff needs more training in customer service.
