Stayed here several times, as this Inn is convenient for visiting family in the far Boston suburbs. Inn sits well back from the road so it feels private and quiet. Rooms are very comfortable and decorated with a horse theme that many will find charming. Full breakfasts are well prepared to order.

This historic and well-maintained small horse farm is in a grand old house right off the main road, but set back far enough to be quiet and peaceful. My husband and I stayed at the cottage. The downstairs was tidy but smelled musty . The upstairs bathroom needs work. The shower floor is not even and difficult to stand in. The sink and toilet are dated. The towels were like cardboard and thin. Cobwebs were in the corners of the shower. After the first nights stay, we left for the day and came back […] that night. The room had not been cleaned. The upstairs was warm the first night and the overhead fan did not work. The third night we stayed there it was very hot, we opened the windows but there was no breeze. A working fan would have been great since there is no air coditioning. Outside the cottage the back is pretty with the horses in the pasture but the path to the cottage has tons of plastic plant containers just thrown in a pile over to the side. It just looks messy. We spent three wonderful days in the cottage next to the main house. Our three grandsons spent one day with us and enjoyed the horses, friendly cat, and assorted other farm animals. I grew up 8 miles from this beautiful old town and this beautiful old farm, and I can't remember seeing either place before. It was a revelation! Staying here was such an unexpected pleasure. The building is a large old house with six rooms upstairs and a shared bathrooom. No problem with sharing the "john". Historic Inn is a hidden treasure to relax in. The Inn's landscaping folds in on itself. Once you enter the Inn property you only see the farm. The Inn itself is a historic building and furnished in a 200 year old tradition. It is well maintained and filled with history. The Inn keepers: a couple are welcoming and warm. Serving a to order breakfast […] with a large choice in teas, but for me steaming hot coffee ready at my early rising. My first morning I took coffee on the stone floor overlooking the pond, horses and to my surprise four wild turkeys. My second morning the on-core was ten wild turkeys. Twelve wild turkeys call the farm home along with horses, geese, two dogs and an assortment of squirrels and chipmonks. I didn't see any turkeys on my final day, but I again enjoyed the view of the farm and my coffee on the slate deck. Just a beautiful view. The Inn on the Horse farm was incredibly relaxing and inspiring for me. I am looking forward to staying there again. Just a wonderful retreat. Read more

This bed and breakfast was wonderful. There are horses and chickens and geese and a very sweet cat. The host that night was Kim, who was wonderful along with her very sweet young son. They had 2 dogs as well, which was nice to spend time with the whole family. The setting was very peaceful, easy access to things in the area. Kim cooked us a very nice breakfast with eggs from the chickens on the farm. The owner double booked and due to a death in the family forgot to inform hotels.com I settled for a room further from my destination in Acton...a perfectly nice room in an old Victorian owned by the same people. All the comforts of home and none of the work! This was my first stay in a B&B, and it was a wonderful experience. Joan and Rick made me feel very welcome. I loved my room, and enjoyed walking on the path around the property. Fantastic service. We were coming from Boston and needed to check in late (midnight), so I called and Joan said everything would be ready for us. The only problem we had was that it was a bit hard to find from the road, especially at night. A very friendly cat welcomed us outside and walked us to the door. When we arrived, she had left directions to […] our room and we had no trouble. The room was great; a bit cramped, but in a quaint way. Bed was obscenely comfortable, and the decor was lovely. Our room did not have a private bath; the bathroom in the hall was clean and narrow. In the morning Joan cooked us omelettes and toast, and we had our choice of fresh coffee or tea, and OJ. We checked out at 11 but were able to stick around til 3, walking around the grounds and petting the horses. The property has more than one swing hanging from trees, that could easily have fit 3-4 people. It was a very peaceful place. There is a supermarket a few miles away, and we didn't see many restaurants nearby, so lunch was a bit of an adventure. But all in all a great little place. For animal lovers like us, it was the perfect place for a romantic weekend away. Read more

I had a wonderful stay at the Inn. The experience was so positive, I cannot wait to return. I was visiting friends in Boston and found the trip there quite direct. I also explored the Lexington and Concord National Historic sites which are located quite nearby. I would highly recommend this Inn.

After a busy few days in Boston, we really enjoyed taking some time to relax here. The owners were super nice and the service for breakfast was outstanding! How can you complain about a home cooked meal? I must for someone wanting some time out of the city or a place to stay when visiting some of the historical sites near Lexington/Concord.

We stayed in this B&B years ago and loved it.. The good things: It is a lovely looking place in a lovely setting, the Innkeepers very welcoming and helpful. It is quiet. We were thrilled to discover a washer/dryer in our room and a small fridge, all of which we needed right away. Two sinks in the bathroom plus a wet bar. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. […] Full home-cooked breakfasts. A large jacuzzi tub plus shower stall. WiFi internet access. Horses out back. The tub and sinks/shower are clean. The not so good: The rooms were cluttered with knick-knacks and plants leaving little space for our things. The entire hotel is dusty, the rugs appeared to be rarely vacuumed. The lint bag for the dryer was stuffed full, there were socks on the floor & towels in the dryer. No place to hang wet towels. Be prepared for ravenous mosquitoes when taking the nature walk. We think the problem is the economic times. The inkeepers must not only manage the farm, but must clean the hotel and it is a very large place. Our sympathies are with them because they are fine hosts. In our opinion the positives outweigh the negatives for a unique experience. Read more

As an antidote to bland hotel standards, this is delightful. A beautiful family house and grounds. Breakfast included home-laid eggs, home-baked bread, home-made jam. For some however, it may not be absolutely perfect so I should point out that believe there is only one room with aircon and that, for most room, the bathroom is a shared one.
