We had a warm welcome from the concierge and the lobby was beautiful. Our room was large and comfortable, and we had everything we could need. I saw a couple other reviews mentioning the hallway carpets needing a steam-clean...yeah, that might be nice. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay, and would definitely return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Holiday Inn Phoenix Downtown-North Thank you for your comments. I will be sure to pass them on to ever associate. And you will be happy to know that the carpets are scheduled to be cleaned in the next two weeks. Fred Pratt General Manager
"Charming, Good-Natured Hotel"
I find this the most consistent hotel in Phoenix. Now I don't even bother shopping around for a better price (if there is a better price; its been very good when compared to other hotels). I just book a room automatically. The staff is second to none...the location is perfect...the rooms and public spaces are always clean and uncluttered. Good Job!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Holiday Inn Phoenix Downtown-North Dear Charles Ostrowski, No one is going to believe that you are not a relative of someone at the hotel, but I want everyone to know that you are not. Thank you for the great comments and I will be sure to share them with the entire staff. The next time you are at the Holiday Inn Phoenix Downtown North, please stop by and introduce yourself. nothing special, but was fine for a couple nights on a business trip. located far from downtown, but easy ride on the light rail, which stops very close to the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not the greatest stay"
When we arrived at the hotel room it was pretty clean, but the beds were uncomfortable and the pillows were hard and small. The downside to staying here for us was that arriving at night and having to park so far away from the hotel and not being able to find our way back to the hotel, with there being no clear signs to point us there. Also a fire alarm […] went off right in the middle of the night and we had no clear direction if and when we could go back to our room or even what was going on, we stood outside for two hours and finally decided to make our way back up to our room. There was nothing offered for our inconvience and the staff on duty gave us no direction, like i said of what was going on or when we could go back to our rooms. In short we will not stay here anymore. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Holiday Inn Phoenix Downtown-North Thank you for taking your time to write comments about the Holiday Inn Phoenix Downtown North. The parking garage is 300 feet from our back door so I am sorry that you had a hard time finding it. You will be happy to know that the entire hotel will have new pillows sometime in the first quarter of the year. The fire alarm was a terrible time. Our staff had problems finding out what was wrong. We knew there wasn't a fire, but the system would not reset. And then it knocked out our front desk computer system as well. I hope you will give us another chance the next time you come to Phoenix. If you contact me directly I will give you a special rate. Fred Pratt General Manager
"nice and comfy"
When we got to the hotel, it was late--around 10:30pm. The front desk told us that they had been "slammed" and unfortunately didn't have the room with the two queens that I had reserved. They offered a king room with a rollway, but since there were 4 of us ladies staying for the night, that wouldn't work. The manager gave us the king room and also gave […] us another king room free of charge! Everyone we met in the hallways were very friendly. The beds were comfortable--everything was very pleasant. "Parking? What Parking?"
The hotel itself is nice and priced appropriately. HOWEVER, parking is around the corner and down the street, in DOWNTOWN Phoenix. If you don't need to park, it's fine, but if you do I don't recommend this hotel. Great location to light rail.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Holiday Inn Phoenix Downtown-North Dear Craftyagentmom, Thank you for taking the time to write a review about the Holiday Inn Phoenix Downtown North. Our free covered parking is 300 feet from our back door and for most of the year free covered is a great benefit. And the light rail being one block from the hotel is an extra benefit. It was close enough to downtown and really comfortable!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was an average hotel in an average location. Honestly, little stands out to me. It is 3 miles from the convention center, which is about a $16 cab ride. It is also just two blocks from the light rail station, which is very convenient for popping into the center of town (runs every 15 minutes, $2/ride or $4 for a day pass). There wasn't much in the […] way of good restaurants near-by. There was a Walgreens a block and a half away, but no grocery store (although I didn't look hard). Oh - one thing does stand out in my memory - the breakfast buffet was awful the one day that I ate it. And there was a FANTASTIC yoga studio about three blocks away (Urban Yoga). "Holiday Inn downtown"
Extremely rude front desk manager on day shift. Night manager was polite. My room was dirty, there was a broken plug left in an outlet and several broken pieces of equipment in the exercise room, as well as a completely empty 5 gallon water jug in the cooler during my stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
All the workers there were friendly and I had a great time staying there.Genuine Expedia guest review
"friendliness of staff"
Had a very relaxing stay. All of the staff was extremely friendly and the quality of service was great. The room was clean and comfortable. Had breakfast and room service and was not disappointed. This was the second time there and would go back again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very terrible night and sick morning"
I wait there more than one half hours to check in, because the system. And finally, the staff use my card to pay for the deposit. When I check out, the hotel tell me that it use my card to pay the money which I was pay for Expedia. And it swiping my card so many times, in order to made my credit card decline.Genuine Expedia guest review
My husband and I live in Glendale and needed a date night. We decided to stay at this hotel for First Friday so we could hop on the light rail and enjoy the festivities of the art walk. Our room was very clean and very nice. The staff was pleasant as well. We will be staying here again! Perfect locationGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Air conditioning didn't work."
Air conditioning wasn't working very well. It was set at 50 and was barely getting down to 78 degrees. At one point it was 80 dgrees in our room. We looked to move to another suite and the temp was the same in that room at well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"comfy business trip!"
The staff was friendly and helpful. Loved my time there. Location was great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Holiday Day Inn Central Phx North"
I've stayed at this hotel at least a half-dozen times. It is my go-to hotel when I plan to stay overnight in Phoenix since it is central to everyplace I tend to go and very close to the light rail. The rooms are nice and quiet (I never hear anybody) and nicely decorated and I can usually get a great rate through hotels.com. It has an in-house restaurant […] that I've eaten at for breakfast only and the price is comparable to a diner. My only complaint is one that I have at most hotels: the bathroom smells like it was cleaned with a dirty rag or the shower curtain smells moldy/musty. It is not overwhelming, just noticeable to my sensitive nose. I will return due to its value and location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hot hot hot"
Rooms were hot!! AC wasn't working right. We were unable to sleep at all. Temp didn't go under 78 degrees. Complained to manager in the morning and he only gave us free breakfast and offered a discount on another room for that night. I will NOT stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Enjoyed the service and the right by the light rail and 24 hr shopGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The entire time I was there it smelt like there was a sewage back-up. Front desk staff was great, however the cleaning ladies seemed a bit rude.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Overall this was a pretty nice place to stay. The AC was a little noisy and oddly, I had better luck logging onto wifi from the hotel next door.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice room, annoying parking"
My husband and I stayed here after our wedding before leaving for the honeymoon. They allowed us to check in early since we had a our wedding to get to, which was really nice. We had the king suite. The bed was big and cozy. The furniture in the suite area was neither great nor horrible, standard hotel furniture. The lobby is beautiful. The downside […] to this place was that the parking is behind the hotel that is behind the Holiday Inn. It was a nuisance. I also thought it was weird you had to pay $8 for breakfast, so we skipped that. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Very nice hotel. Very friendly staff. no more to add, nice hotel and friendly staffGenuine Expedia guest review
"same price as Hilton Garden, much dumpier"
The hotel is in desperate need of renovation and my blonde girlfriend could not use the hair dryer because there was a long brunette hair sticking out of it. Also, there was an awful sewer smell in the lobby area on the east side.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Price is right"
I booked this hotel becuse I missed the block at another hotel for a friend's wedding. Hotels.com price was $124 a night vs $209 down the street (or even $149 for the wedding rate). Don't expect a ton of frills. Based on circumstance, I didn't make use of the restaurant or bar. Surrounding neighborhood is a bit low-income on either side of Central, […] but I never felt unsafe. Parking is limited, but I never had a problem there either. All in all, I'd stay here again if I needed to be in downtown Phoenix. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

everything is ok except the parking a little bit far from the hotel...Staff are all courteous and friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel was a huge disappointment. My room smelled. The toilet was broken and not properly attached to the ground. My bill included room service charges I didn't make. I won't stay here every againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very rude man at the front desk"
Overall, the hotel was ok, but the man, Jim, at the front seat at night was extremely rude! In the room there were only very small, half size pillows and a card saying contact the front desk and they will bring up pillows. We called to ask for those and also a new remote, but we were turned down on both by the front desk who was extremely rude and was […] even mocking us when we walked downstairs to ask again the next night. It was not a good experience! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
